That would be a good trade.

Udeze is a good player and I reme the gayroi being interested in him a couple years ago. He lacks a bit of disclipine though and forgets to return from his international duty with Nigeria.

Udese extended his contract with PAOK until 2007 today, so he won't be coming to PAO anytime soon.

WAGGING TONGUES

With the transfer window approaching and Basinas having 18 months left on his contract, the tongues are wagging again that Panathinaikos are about to sell their most valuable player.

Basinas fuelled talk that he is on his way by openly criticising Scasny at the start of the week. Those criticisms were echoed by another player, Romanian Lucian Sanmartean, who has barely had a look-in since returning from injury.

The greatest pressure on Scasny and his players comes from Piraeus where arch-rivals Olympiakos have been building a Greek superclub.

With the rebuilt Kairaskakis Stadium at their disposal, Olympiakos have a smart home that contrasts sharply with Panathinaikos' scruffy Apostolos Nikolaidis stadium.

It also has double the capacity which brings in more money in the shape of ticket sales and sponsorship. Hence, the ability of Olympiakos to attract a player like Rivaldo - who has already earned godlike status after his free kick beat Panathinaikos last weekend.

......

Apart that this article looks like it has been written by an Oly fan, this specific thing is totally untrue.

Basinas has backed Scazni twice till now, and this thing was very obvious in the Monday's interview for the upcoming match Vs. PSV.

Seems like they have a very good relationship and Basinas is one of Scazni's 2-3 most favourite players.

This article's writer lives in his own world...

superclub??????? hahahahahahahahhaaahahahahah with a 30000 stadium and two katsikia okkas and giovanni playing as forwards now they are superclub from signign one player rivaldo????hahhahahahhahahh stupid gavrakia..............

dont be fooled about ticket rivenues man.......an extra 15.000 a home game doesnt make that big a difference in signings a team can afford to make.....not at all. PAO may only collect 13000 a game or 15000 for big games, but they do charge more per ticket.

also hollywood man post a soucre

In the last home game for Gavroi they had ticket revenues of 1 million.

DO YOU THINK THAT PAO MAKES EVEN HALF OF THAT?

Other than 15000 more tickets they make big bucks out of the other facilities in Karaiskaki. Restaurants Boutique Parking. And the tickets are not that cheap either so I'd say they make much more than we do.

Not to mention that they have 21 Sponsors

I don't agree that they are building a superclub but they are in much better position financialy than we are at the moment and for the 2 years to come.

I believe that this is gonna be reflected in the transfer market as well.

Gavri will probably be able to sign the best Greek Talent once again (as they did a decade ago with Gianakopoulos, Djorjevic, Georgatos) while we try to get just cut price deals.

The wage budget has also many differences.

yes this is true, they are also spending and have a lot more debts.....also the last game was the derby, so its not like that is the average figure, because for that game there is way more ticket demand, sponsors, etc etc....

That is not quite accurate. OLY always plays with full house this year. Even in Cup fixtures with Kastoria they have more than 20 thousand. Regarding their debt they cover that through the money of the members.

Let's face it they make more money every month than we do. Luckily for us they were stupid enough not to build a bigger stadium.

Hopefully we will not make the same mistake and build a bigger stadium. I say 50000 is great.

As for average attendance for Karaiskaki this season it is around 28000

P.S. Where are the comments now about Kavourogiannides? The guy is going to get 300.000 euro for 6 months!!!! :o And all of those who critisised management for Adonakis do you see that if a player is decent and is not back-stubbing how management treats him? Don't read all the bullshit in the press....

Norwegian Newspaper VG reports that PAO is interested in buying NOrwegian International Midfielder MARTIN ADRESEN (21 Int Caps-2Goals) of Stabaek

His team was relegated this season but his contract runs until 2007. The price tag on him reads 1M euro.

Has anyone seen the player?

isnt almeydas contract expiring???? he owuld be a good replacement for basinas ..........

Almayda was offered to Pao also this summer but they didn't even consider signing him. Since then he has changed 3 teams.

I am not so sure they are selling Basinas.

he also had a brief spell at blackburn and overall he would be a good signing!

the team that owns him want about 1mil. euro for to loan him and his agent confirms that he would like to come to pao.

btw the report also says that pao is the only team that has accepted to bid that much.

both fc copenhagen and several english, german and rosenborg are also interesting.

my view is that if he comes to pao and also remain first choice on the national team then he is definitely good enough for us.

in the norwegian teletext it says that the reason he prefers pao over the others is that pao is also offering about 800-900k euro a year or 6 mil. norwegian kroner

i say bring him

i saw him with the nt and he is a very skilled player..he has michaelsen like qualities (when michaelsen was in good form) and would be a solid addition for us..castromans name is still getting thrown around as well..

it was also stated that demba, raguel, epalle and zutautus are gunna see the door in the winter...

Sounds good!!! About time. Wheres your source on this?

As for the Norwegian Martin Adresen, how old is he? Seems like Vardi is going all out for this transfer, is he worth it. 1 Mill EURO and 800k seems expensive CONSIDERING the existing structure of the current squads wages and past transfer history.

Those are definately good news... These are by far the worse PAO players.

That means we could buy at least 2 Non-EU Players on Zutautas and Eppalle places.

The question still remains though what do we bring in their place. My best bet would be one Eastern European (Probably Pascovici in the summer) and someone from Argentina this transfer window.

Not so sure about Castroman (he has attracted a lot of attention lately and probably is gonna end up in a team that pays really well)

The Bonus for me would be if we signed Matousevic as well as an ARgentine this winter.

The team is overcrowded anyway so do not expect all 4 players that go away (27 man roster!!!)
