Panagiotis Moraitis scored two goals for Borac Banja Luka (Bosnia) in their Q1-tie against CFR Cluj and was unlucky that the awaygoal rule was scrapped as the lost 3-1 away (only goal for them) and won 2-0 at home (the 2-0). In the extra time Cluj scored the only goal and advance to Q2 CL.

Moraitis went from Panachaiki to Montenegro’s champion in the winter of 2019/2020 and from there to Borac in the winter transferwindow of 2020/2021

Dimitris Ioannidis’s contract was not renewed at Fortuna Sittard. He will continue his career at Rot-Weiss Ahlen in the Regionalliga, the fourth tier in Germany.

I noticed Borussia Dortmund had a player by the of Antonios Papadopoulos coming on as substitute in overnight German Bundesliga action at home to Eintracht Frankfurt. German born Antonios Papadopoulos is a 21 year old defensive midfielder with German nationality but Greek heritage & yet to represent Germany or Greece at any level. Borussia Dortmund won 5-2.

Argyris Kambetsis joins Willem II on a loanbase from Panathinaikos including a buyout clause. So we have another Greek in the Netherlands.

Giannis Masouras is the next Greek heading to the Netherlands. He will play on a loanbase for one year at Sparta (Rotterdam) in the Eredivisie. Sparta by the way do also play in red and white stripes, though Sparta wear black shorts.

I remember seeing him play in a game for AEK in Europe and all I could think of was how much better he would be than Bakasetas for Greece.

Botos was sent off yesterday against Heracles (of Orestis Kiomourtzoglou) just like a teammate but Go Ahead Eagles managed still to score another goal (FT 4-2).

Alexandros Kiziridis scored both goals of Zlate Moravce against Pohronie (Kokovas plays there but was not in the squad today) in the highest Slovakian tier.

Dutch Eredivisie today:

Orestis Kiomourtzoglou just thought to have scored the winner (3-2) for Heracles Almelo in their match against FC Groningen. But An own goal was scored in the dying seconds by a Groningen-player to make it 4-2.

Nikos Michelis of Willem II was sent of against AZ. At 1-1 his foul also gave the opportunity for AZ in 76' to take the lead with a penalty. Final score 4-1 for the club of the Pavlidis-brothers and Hatzidiakos.

Samaris (Fortuna Sittard) - Tasos Douvikas (FC Utrecht) 2-2. Samaris played 90' and Douvikas was subbed out at 71'.

Masouras played the whole match for Sparta against Vitesse (2-2).

Lamprou is now playing against Limnios. Second half just started. Limnios scored the opening goal. Score right now: 0-2.

What about Taxi Fountas?? 2 goals in his debut with DC United in MLS 3-2 win on apr 23. Then 2 goals against Houston dynamo in 2-0 win on may 7. Then a goal against inter Miami in 2-2 draw. 5 goals and 3 assist in 6 starts. Yeah it’s MLS but who cares he’s in form I think he deserves a start against northern Ireland in nations league.
