Once again PAOK will be preparing in The Netherlands near the city of Arnhem. They will be staying in hotel "De Bilderberg".

Hope to catch a few matches.

Twente is the club of Giorgios Katsikas.

They were relegated due to financial chaos and not doing anything to change it. Even after several warnings, consisting of deduction of points, fines and even not entering CL or EL if they manage to qualify. The chaos started with an unhealthy construction with Doyen investmentfund and wanting to become champions which they actually achieved in 2010.

Twente went to the court and the decision is expected June 10th.

If the relegation stands I don't think it will be a dinato filiko.

But July 16th would be great as it is in the weekend and just an one hour drive.

That sounds rough. So we'll either go up against a team that's first division quality, or one that just hemorrhaged players due to relegation. Hopefully they're at the top of their game when they play us, we'll need good tests to get ready.

The game will be played at a club called DOS'37 in Vriezenveen. A village 2,5 hrs from Hannover, 1,45 hrs from Dortmund and 2 hrs from my place. The game starts 14:30.

I'm looking forward to seeing the results of Poungouras' development at Veria. While Veria weren't a great side this season, he played a lot of football, experience in a league like Greece is vital, and lord knows how desperately we need centrebacks. Hope we give him a run in the pre season, he might be able to show he's good enough to become part of the squad, even if it's just to create depth.

That's cutting it somewhat close as far as Mak is concerned. At least, depending on how far in the tournament they get.

Apparently we have a friendly game set with Shakhtar Donetsk, but it might be cancelled if we get drawn against them in the CL qualifying.

Best of both worlds if we don't draw them. They'd be a great challenge even in a friendly.

 

I'm guessing we'd start off our friendlies vs a relatively easy team? Hopefully not those same guys who cost us Klaus for three months last time around.

FC Twente lost in court. The Dutch FA is allowed to have them relegated to the second level. Twente has 4 weaks to appeal.

The situation is totally scre#$%-up in Holland. Clubs falling over each other who must or is entitled to take their place. Should it be relegated De Graafschap or should it be a club that just missed promotion?? Is there a second Greece?

Most interesting for me. Will we play against them in July? I'm not sure.

I would think that regardless of relegation, we'd still play them? Unless you think this will throw the club into such disarray that they might not have....players come July?

Rumors are now that Twente will ask for bankruptcy if they are relegated. The deficit is about 80 mio Euro's and all measures and help are based on a stay in the Dutch Eredivisie.
