    Thanks for posting the right information.  I was way off. I guess I read the wrong info. Sorry

    from what I'm reading Greece would get a play off spot if they finish 2nd to Finland. But Finland would have to already qualify through regular qualifiers for that to happen.

    I don't think Finland is that good lol

    Read my previous posts, I explain clearly that we can attend the playoffs because there's a great chance league A and B teams will qualify to the Euros through the regular qualification.

    This way their spots in NL playoffs will be given to teams which failed to qualify, hence Greece finishing second is of great importance.

  2. Well technically it's one spot to each group. But since the majority of League A and B teams will qualify to the Euros through the regular qualifcation which starts on March, then those 4+4 spots will be given to league C teams.

    As I said earlier realistically all 12 league A teams will qualify plus 9-10 league B teams. That means the additonal spots will be covered by the non group winners of the league C. So assuming Serbia, Finland, Norway and Scotland win the each group, then the next best placed teams will follow them to the playoff.

    That's why it's inevitable to finish at least second because 80% we'll get to play in some playoffs, but also if we fall down to third or even worse, finish second but with anything less than 12 points it means we'll be placed in pot 4 in the euros draw.

  3. No you're totally wrong. The chances are not slim but actually it's very realistic to expect this scenario.

    These are the teams of league ;

    Austria, Bosnia, Russia, Sweden, Turkey, Wales, Slovakia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Ireland and Nothern Ireland. Basically the only teams that I do not expect to qualify are the Irish. The rest will do, so will Serbia and that will open up one more spot.

  4. Btw we ABSOLUTELY need to win not of our next games even if we get to finish second but thats something people are still not aware of.

    It's really, really important for us for 2 reasons.

    1) if we don't win both games then it's very likely, if not a lock, for us to fall in pot 4 in the draw for the euros qualification.  This would automatically kill our limited chances of qualifying.

    2) If we get to finish 2nd by winningboth games there's still a great chance to be in the nations league playoffs and I'll explain below;

    Teams from leagues A and B will probably qualify, if not all of them then at least 22 out of 24 teams through the regular qualification. This means they will not get to feature to their nations league playoffs and will be replaced by the next best placed teams of all leagues.

    So, assuming that the biggest majority of league A and B teams qualify via the original qualifiers, then about 5-6 teams from league C will replace them to the Nations league playoffs.

    Again assuming that Serbia, Finland, Norway and Israel win their groups then the likes of Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, Scotland and Montenegro will get to take part in the playoffs.

    I hope people here but also around the NT to understand the importance of the next games.

    Your probably going to get told that he is injured which he is and that he plays 2nd division. You will also be told that he shouldn't be playing because he plays in the 2nd division which is non sense because of the talent he has. He should be one of the first names on the teams list along with Sokratis and Manolas.

    Yeah I mean he's an injury prone and no other team than freaking Hamburg which were flirting and eventually did relegated, picked him up when he was an FA. Why to trust a player who picks up a long term injury every year and his perfomance level has dropped dramatically over the years? Probably he's still good enough to start in many Bundesliga teams but that's not what people expected from him. After all he's not a loss when Sokratis and Manolas are around, just adds a bit more depth and that's it.

    Wake up, we're not in 2012 anymore where him, Ninis and Fetfatzidis are talented youngsters that should definitely be in our squad.

  6. Samaris, Stafylidis and Karelis are much needed for us but they're out of form lately and this has killed us in many aspects. Galanopoulos should get promoted in the senior team, perhaps Limnios as well. Lykogiannis, Retsos, Mantalos and Torosidis are valuable alternatives while Donis and Lazaros are crucial. Vlachodimos should debut soon.

    Overall it looks unrealistic to expect a full squad any time soon.

  7. Lol Fetfatzidis couldn't get past his opponent against Milan and destroyed like 3 Olympiakos counter attacks. I myself said he might deserved a call up considering our drought offensively but lets better not ridicule oursevles..He doesn't have the pace to play in the highest level, and again that's something you don't notice against teams of our level but against bigger opposition.

    Manthatis has long, long way before being a regular NT player.

    wouldn't really want any of the above the start anyways. Lazaros hasn't been as sharp lately and Fortounis has looked great. Mantalos off the bench wouldn't mind as a CAM tho and same with lazaros but not starters.

    And who want you start over Lazaros? Donis is also injured. Most likely our wingers will be Pelkas and Fetfatzidis which means we'll see again 3 AMs along with Fortounis behind Mitroglou.

    Zeca and hopefully Kourmpelis will play atmidfield with Mpakakis, Sokratis, Manolas and one of Torosidis or Tsimikas. Mparkas as the goalie.

    Offensively we'll be dealing no pressure from the wings since there are no natural wingers and thats something you people who want the likes of Pelkas and Fetfatzidis to be our starting wingers. At this level against Hungary and Finland you might not notice it but we can't beat anyone above our weight with such a line up. Players would crash with each other since all of them play more centrally.

    Long story short Donis and Lazaros is the best we can provide for this position.

    Yes @Alphonse I agree, but our national team is not gifted with strikers and we are very limited in that position. Karelis is injury prone and Donis is a winger. Who else have we got apart from Mitroglou. Vellios and Diamantakos had their chance. Why not give Manos a chance and see what he has got. Don't talk to me about how many minutes a player has because we all know it doesn't mean anything in this national team.

    Manos should have been loaned out to Atromitos or Panionios. You would then see the talent he has got. Same goes for other Greeks in the Olympiakos squad. Olympiakos wanted to be stacked in every position this season so they could go far in Europe and hopefully win the double. I believe if Manos get ls more chances he will prove himself more.

    Giannoulis is a random selection if you ask me. Not talented enough to be in the national team yet. Where is Lykogiannis? Also Koutris? Yes we have players injured in that position. Karelis has only played about 2 games for PAOK. But still gets selected. Manos has more talent than Vellios and Diamantakos in my opinion. I remember Mantalos was chosen a few years ago when he was playing in the second division with AEK and we had other options there as well.

    No that's a no brainer. You want Manos to get a call up desperately despite him having played only one game this season and in general no official games in the Greek top division...Also I guess you have not watched Oikonomou this year since he's been in a very good shape so far rather than Mavropanos who after recording a couple of games last season, he's warming the bench in this one.

    Regarding your question about Giannoulis' call up you should know that Koutris has only 2 caps this year afaik which means no playing time while Lykogiannis is injured.

  10. If Torosidis is out we are in sort of a trouble because Lykogiannis, Stafylidis and Retsos are also out. This means we'll get to see Tzavellas in the line up unless Skibbe wakes up and starts Tsimikas.

    Mantalos out is not a big problem, Lazaros and Pelkas will start on the wings hopefully.

    Btw what's the story behind Klonaridis and he doesn't get a call up? Has he chosen Belgium or what?
