  1. no way bouchalakis, he's just another tachtsidis.

just imagine going to the wc with such slow midfielders, we would have been slaughtered for real.

you need to put players like galanopoulos, kourmpelis and zeca. less technical but running their ass off and making sure we want surrender the midfield. samaris or tachtsidis are more of an "8" player so they could come around the second half.

If Greece u21s make it to Euro championship should we let Retsos and Donis play with them aswell? It would boost the defence and and attack.

    yes the can play there, donis is 97' and retsos 98' born. imagine a squad of;

kotsaris (gk), tsimikas, retsos, mavropanos, saliakas, galanopoulos, androutsos, limnios, lamprou, manthatis, donis

Egypt are part of the African continent. They speak Arabic. I don't know about Iran. I thought they were an Arab speaking country.

laz is right, iran is persia and egypt had their own identity before being conquered by arabs as happened with most north african nations.

Papadopoulos might go to PAOK. I think it would be a bad move. He should stay abroad as it would benefit the national team. Him and Retsos are clearly our back ups.

I don't know why Siovas hasn't been called up. He has been clearly doing well in Spain for 2 seasons. He could more stable then Manolas and Sokratis. Hid weakness is his pace in my opinion but his passing is the best from all our centrebacks. We should utilize him.

he has a 6 mil buy out clause which will be lower in case hamburg gets relegated. although the player said his priority is to keep playing abroad.

Samaris only played 2 good matches for the Ethniki and that was in the 2014 world cup. Since then he has done nothing special.

As for Tachtsidis I agree with J1078 I am over him. He has been below average lately and the bench is the best place for him now.

I actually believed in these 2 players after the world cup 4 years ago. I'm tired of waiting time to bring in better talent.

gianniotas has done nothing for the nt, as well as fetfatzidis. both in nt and club level. but people here think they're good because of their speed. let alone they can't even crack into a top-10!!! league  in europe....

  6. team id like to see in june friendlies;

    gk; karnezis, gianniotis, mparkas,

    lb; stafylidis, torosidis

    cb; manolas, papadopoulos, sokratis, retsos

    rb; mpakakis, lykogiannis

cdm; samaris, galanopoulos, zeca, kourmpelis, tachtsidis

    amf; pelkas, mantalos, fortounis, lazaros

    cf; mitroglou, karelis, donis

First of i don't how people can say this was a good performance. The only positive thing about this game was the result. I believe Tachtsidis and Tziolis slowed the team down a lot. They can't help themselves. Bakakis is better than Torosidis. Pelkas showed more energy and fight in that position.

We have a problem and that problem is the midfield. Samaris, Tachtsidis and Tziolis should not play at all for this team. Only one can be called up. I'm not sold on Kourbelis either. Zeca is one option to have and the other is a hard decision.

Our wingers were good. Lazaros, Gianniotas and Donis are talented enough to play on this team. Pelkas can be used there and not Bakasetas.

Karelis played well. Hopefully Manos gets called up in the next friendlies as the season will be over by then.

The performance could of been better. Which means the only way to fix this is by playing better players who like to play fast and are a fast themselves.

The players that did well today were Barkas, Gianniotis, Bakakis, Stafylidis, Lazaros, Pelkas and Karelis.

Also to note this Egypt team were not that good and we should have scored 4 goals. Also our 2nd team should be our 1st team. Players like Torosidis, Samaris, Fortounis, Tziolis, Tzavellas and Bakasetas should take a seat and watch how real players play.

how come and you say that tachtsidis and samaris shouldn't be called up, while on the other hand gianniotas who showed totally NOTHING yesterday and football league player manos deserve a place on the roster is absolutely beyond me, really.

  8. probably the most talented u21 team i remember in years. they literally could have won 5-0 even playing with a man down for the whole second half.

galanopoulos will be missed in the next crucial game against czech republic away in september. this and the next one, again away vs croatia will determine whether we qualify or not.

we'll have to win against czech republic and belarus so the against croatia we can play for a draw as well. a possible tie with croatia might rule us out because they still have to play the easy games which will increase their goal average and probably surpass us.

I agree with your set up Laz but I don't know if Torosidis is done for sure. I'd like to see new additions there but i think Toro will be in the team the next 2 years. Maybe as a CDM.

I know there probably there not ready yet but Lamprou and Masouras could add depth on the wings. I would do the world of confidence for them if they get called up.

Pelkas for sure starts behind the striker, unless Skibbe wants to give Fortounis another chance. Also we should keep in mind that Manolas, Sokratis and Mitroglou will not get called up for these friendlies along with Torosidis maybe.

My line up for the first game against Switzerland at Toumba:

             Paschalaki

    Bakaki  Kyriako(c) Retso

    Lazaro Gala  Kourbe Stafy

                        Pelka

                 Doni.       Kareli

Tachtsidi, Giannioti, Fetfa (wishful thinking), Charisi, Risvani and Vasilakaki as subs.

I understand where your coming from with the Tzavella comment but we should try others for these friendlies.

still cant understand why abroad greeks refuse to put a final s to the surnames.

  10. karelis and mitroglou are locks for the cf position so i don't really care who's the third one.

about the wings for me it's donis, lazaros and let's say to give a chance to fetfatzidis and lamprou in these friendlies. the only 2 that i can think at the moment that are above average back ups instead of mantalos who's basically not a winger and gianniotas who's a below average player.

samaris, zeca, kourmpelis, galanopoulos, kone and tachtsidis in the midfield. i think it's solid one, far deeper that our latest editions with tziolis and maniatis running it.

sokratis, manolas, retsos and kyriakos cbs, locks as well. stafylidis, torosidis, lykogiannis and mpakakis for the wing backs.

karnezis, paschalakis for the goalkeeper's position with the 3rd one being up for grabs. i'd give the advantage to tsintotas over anestis and kapino at the moment, the 2 latter look in some awful for tbh.

So does that mean he misses the friendlies in March? He probably wouldn't be picked as we are trialling a few players.

after mitroglou, if we exclude karelis, there's literally none, so he should a lock in this team regardless of his form.

if you remember the last time we played without him in the squad, we had our worst game of the campaign (0-0 vs estonia)
