Not surprised JVS is going in unchanged, the line-up is settled and he seems to like to stick with what's been working for him. Fortounis was always less likely to start a match where the other team would have equal or potentially more possession than us, pressing will be key and that's his weakness. I'm sure we'll see him in the 2nd half, depending on the score.

Bakakis is officially out of the 2 upcoming Nations League matches with an injury. Leaves us light at right back, I think we all saw Lampropoulos isn't the answer. You would think Rota would be given an opportunity but the fact he got zero mins in the friendly and he's an uncapped player doesn't fill me with confidence that he'll be played. There is also the option to call someone else up but the only other right back we have playing at a decent level atm is Kitsiou and JVS has never called him up even with our struggles in the position, so don't think he's a Kitsiou fan.

I'm pretty sure Augusto was training fully for about 10 or say days prior the current international break. So you'd think come next weekend he'd be in a position to play if needed, he'll be important to our depth.

Meh it's a friendly, plenty of changes were made and there will be plenty more made ahead of the nations league matches. Giannoulis, Xatzidiakos, Pavlidis, Bakakis (if fit) and one of Vlaho/Barkas will come in for a start. There could be more changes beyond that. He tried some new players, something he hasn't had a chance to do since he took over as this was our first friendly in that time. I'm surprised he didn't give Rota any minutes, I mean if you don't trust him at all why have him in the squad? He was literally the only fit right back in the squad, even if JVS was "saving" him for NL you would think he'd give Rota a taste off the bench in a friendly. Instead he shoehorned Lampropoulos in there, doesn't make any sense to me. But jeez an average performance in a friendly and people start calling for Sokratis and Manolas to return, after everything we've been through these past 18 or so months. Just gives you a little snapshot of what you're up against in Greece trying to build something.

Apparently Mauricio rejected our latest offer of around 400k a year. They seem to be saying that him knocking back the offer doesn't mean it's over and we'll be back at the negotiation table with him. For what it's worth I don't really want him back, he's missed the whole pre-season and early part of the season chasing a 1 million + contract that doesn't seem to exist. Move on from him, if we keep playing a 5-2-3 we only play with 2 central mids anyway, we currently have 4 it's enough until January. Unless there is a change of system incoming then I don't really think we need a 5th central midfielder.

PSV have signed former Dortmund and Bayern player Mario Gotze. Esiti will eat him when we play them

He's been loaned to Saint-Etienne for the season with a 6.5 Million Euro option to buy. Let's hope for a big year from him, he's been in the wilderness for the past 2 seasons with being injured and falling out of favour. He's only played 7 games at club level over that period, so it's hugely important for him to stay fit and cement himself in the starting XI. We don't want him turning into another Kpaps.

No Pelkas or Bakakis for this match, Pelkas is in Turkey finalising his transfer to Fenerbache and Bakakis is carrying a slight injury. Both are expected to be available for the Nations League matches. On the other hand Masouras is out all together with an injury, he won't be replaced as JVS has already called up a large squad.

Tsitsipas disposes of Dimitrov in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 and 6-2. This is only the 2nd time in his career he's reached a Grand Slam Quarter Final (after the Aus Open'19) Next up for him is the Russian 13th seed Rublev, who beat Tsitispas last week in the Hamburg open final. Stefanos was in that match and served for the match at one point so he's in with a good chance.

Apparently we are very close to signing Austrian Thomas Murg as a Pelkas replacement, he is a former teammate of Schwab at Rapid Vienna. He's a winger/attacking midfielder and has 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 league games so far this season.

Did anyone else's PAOKTV cut out? I can still access the site and all that but when I click play on the game nothing is happening.

Anastasios Bakasetas - (Now Playing for Panathinaikos)
paokarag4 replied to Argy's topic in Greek Players Abroad
Put Alanyaspor 1-0 up today, as they ran out 6-0 winners. Tzavellas and Siopis also started alongside him. It's been reported Fenerbache are going to make another offer to try sign him. We'll see what happens. -
Pavlidis put Willem 1-0 up, unfortunately it was all down hill for them from then on as they ran out 1-4 losers to Feyenoord

Taxiarchis Fountas - (Now Playing for OFI)

A goal and an assist to half time for Fountas, Rapid lead LASK 2-0 -
OFI have settled now and are having more of the ball, they look decent in possession but not so when they don't have the ball. There are plenty of goals in this game @Dutch Eagle yeah I get that too, was wondering what it was. I'd assume what you said some sort of code

I'm not mad that Matos is back in the starting XI I'm just puzzled trying to figure out Ferreira... Anyway good team, they should be good for a couple of goals. Let's see if we can remedy our scoring woes.

Started Colak and begun the 2nd half with the same intensity we had in the 1st.
