  1. We should all just give up. Nothing is going to change any time soon
  2. fee should be, in reality fee will be a $2 scratchie and packet of chips
  3. Valencia was the club who had a reported bid rejected which would've netted us 6 million. They're having a very average season, currently 14th and struggling to score goals, I'd say their interest in Lucas is genuine, they would certainly have the money to pull a deal like that off.
  4. Thanks Nea Bafra, was annoyed at the thought he wasn't selected even for the bench given his recent form for us.
  5. Australia has a World Cup Qualifier tonight in my hometown. Antonis was called up by Ange Postecoglou but has not made the squad, former PAOK forward Apostolos Giannou is starting
  6. I met up with a couple mates from Australia when I was in Greece last year, the first thing they said when I went to see them in Thessaloniki is that they've never seen so many 10's just walking around before in their lives. The women there are beautiful.
  7. I think we would all agree that Klaus has been average this season. However I just had a look over some numbers, despite poor performances he has 11 goals in 21 games, many of which he was a substitute, he's scoring a goal every 120 minutes. Now I'm not saying he's having a great season, but I did think that the numbers would reflect a much poorer season from him.
  8. Apostolos Giannou was just on TV speaking ahead of his potential debut after defecting from the Ethniki to the Australia's national team. They have a World Cup Qualifier this week and he was asked about the current shape of Greek football. He replied that there are some great players playing in the league but went on to say that the league is obviously corrupt.
  9. I figured this would happen, it's his first major tournament with Portugal though, unless he does extremely bad I don't see it happening (actually I think Portugal are the darkhorse in the upcoming Euro Championship).
  10. The whole season was leaked on pirate bay, I finished it the other night
  11. This is a list of Greek-Australian semi-professional clubs I compiled in an earlier post a short while ago. I'll list the others to play at the countries highest level first, followed by the others currently playing in the National Premier League. Melbourne: South Melbourne Hellas Est 1959- Still the countries most successful ever club. 4X NSL Champions, 1 Oceanic Champions League Title and an appearance in the FIFA Club World Cup (where they played Manchester United). Heidelberg United Est 1958- Formed by Makedones mostly from Florina, 2X NSL runner's up Sydney: Sydney Olympic Est 1957 - 2x NSL Champions Adelaide: West Adelaide Hellas Est 1962 - 1 NSL championship The clubs listed below play in the NPL. Being from South Australia I'll name the Greek clubs playing in leagues below the NPL Victoria: Bentleigh Greens (Cypriot) Northcote City Oakleigh Cannons Port Melbourne South Melbourne Heidelberg Other Victorian teams brought to my attention by a fellow PAOK poster Nea Bafra "Altone East [PAOK] Bayside Argonauts Western Suburbs Clifton Hill Malvern City Morwell Pegasus South Springvale [ARIS] Yarraville FC Kingston City [Oly...ftoo] Brunswick City." New South Wales: Sydney Olympic Hamilton Olympic South Australia: Adelaide Comets Adelaide Olympic West Adelaide Hellas Adelaide Cobras (Cypriot, play in another division below) Messinian Association Hawks (Amateur club) Pontian Eagles (Amateur club) Salisbury Florina (Amateur club) Western Australia: Floreat Athena Northern Territory: Darwin Olympic Hellenic Athletic Queensland: Olympic FC ACT: Canberra Olympic Tasmania: Olympia FC If anyone from else from Australia wants to add other Greek clubs from leagues below the NPL feel free.
  12. Salpingidis and D. Papadopoulos are two, you're right, others off the top of my head are Fytanidis (Atromitos) Mystakidis (PAOK) Tsilianidis (Iraklis) Konstantinidis (PAOK) Georgiadis (Veria) There are still professional club's operating in Turkey, one named Beyoglu S.K, they are/were not exclusively Pontian (although had players of Pontian descent) but made up of the Greek community of Constantinoupoli. the other club Kurtulus S.K is the oldest sports club in Turkey, it also was founded by Greeks in Constantinoupoli. Could you tell me more about the club you found from Merzifon? I've seen an image of footballers from Ponto but don't know much about it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyo%C4%9Flu_S.K. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurtulu%C5%9F_SK
  13. Former GSL keeper Daniel Fernandes is playing there as well
  14. Our backline requires the most attention, I'd bring Poungouras back into the squad after a solid season with Veria and sign a quality centre-back. Vellidis/Glykos are fine for now, bringing in a better keeper is not a priority. I like our midfield, sign a player to rotate with Pelkas or play Pereyra in that role. Sign an attacking wide player, I'm not sold on Jairo and get a hungry forward that can bang some goals in. GK Vellidis Glykos Melissas CB Chatzisaias Vitor Poungouras New Signing RB Kitsiou Konstantinidis LB Tzavellas Leovac CM Charisis Cimirot Antonis Tziolis CAM Pelkas Pereyra/New Signing W Mak Rodrigues Mystakidis New Signing ST Klaus Koulouris New Signing On thin ice Skondras (sad because he was a great player for us last season) Jairo Korovesis Sabo Malezas Gone Kace Golasa Berbatov
  15. House of Cards Season 4 premiere today. It'scurrently early morning in the US, I'd assume it'll air primetime meaning I'll have to wait till tomorrow
  16. Leovac lost Cambiasso for that headed goal and now again Fuster takes advantage of his bad marking
  17. The back 3 has been too slow moving the ball up field. Midfield has been a bit sloppy in possession. Intensity has been great, all the players showing great energy, getting back and making tackles/fouls before we get in trouble.
  18. Using this season's home kit as reference, the anniversary shirt is a little smaller. You might be able to get away with ordering a size larger than you normally would.
  19. Lewandowski, Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Costa, Abaumeyang, Dybala, Higuain, Aguero, Ibtahimovic, Cavani, Giroud, Lukaku, Kane, Hernandez, Benzema, Lacazette, Vardy, Slimani, Tevez, Benteke, Morata, Mandzukic, Icardi, Jonas, Bacca, Rooney, Remy, Sturridge, Dzeko. There's 30 forwards off the top of my head.
  20. Currently and in season's 2013-14, 2014-15, among the league's top half we have had the most goals scored against by a significant margin. Final position 2013-14: 2nd GA: 37 Conceded more than Olympiakos, Atromitos, Panathinaikos, Asteras and Panaitolikos. Final position 2014-15: 3rd GA: 42 Conceded more than Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, Asteras, Atromitos, Giannina, Panaitolikos, Xanthi, Platanias, Kalloni, Levadiakos and Kerkyra. Current Position 2015-16: 4th GA: 27 Conceded more than Olympiakos, AEK, Panathinaikos, Panionios, Asteras, Panaitolikos, Iraklis, Xanthi, Platanias, Atromitos and Veria. It's been this season we've played a back 3, requiring more defenders and we still haven't made improving our back line a priority. Aside from Chatzisaias (who basically replaced Costa anyway) the club has paid almost zero attention to this, choosing instead using makeshift central defenders. We've become way too easy to score against it's a joke.
  21. We couldn't even get the ball to the feet of a dekari if we had one. Panionios did well to clog up the middle and force us to go wide to Skondras or Mak/Kitsiou, who'd receive the ball too deep to possess any real threat.
  22. I placed my order on the day of the reveal (around 10-11 days ag)o and my order is still listed as 'processing' which doesn't give me the option to track. A fellow fan on twitter I've spoken who pre-ordered has tracked his order to Athens airport.
