  1. Great show, one of few comedy's I enjoy watching at the moment. Anyone a fan of House of Cards? Just finished season 2, amazing so far.
  2. Don't even bother. If Savvidis thought he had knowledge of football he's have put himself in charge of making all decisions. I imagine he's paying Arnesen a small fortune to run things. Stupid point to make.
  3. We had more than enough chances to have done that in our Europa League knockout match v CSKA a few seasons back. It's Better late than never
  4. I know very little Pontian, the language shares some words that are identical to those in Ancient Greek. I have a cousin who knows Ancient Greek pretty well.
  5. I want to see more of Charisis assuming he's 100%, along with Korovesis and Skondras.
  6. I can, Dutch. I assume most would've heard of Demis Roussos and Vangelis' group Aphrodite's Child who's album 666 is considered a progressive rock masterpiece. Hardly any of these bands actually sing in Greek though, aside from one rock band from the 70's named Akritas, their self titled album is a little out there but I enjoy listening to it regularly. Other bands don't necessarily sound any different to other European rock or metal bands. I'll name a few of the more popular ones along with their genre. Socrates Drank The Conium - Progressive rock Firewind - Power metal Septicflesh - Symphonic Death Metal Rotting Christ - Black metal
  7. Obviously a big fan of Pontiaka but I love listening Laika also. Outside of Greek music I listen to a lot of rock and metal music, there are a few Greek bands among those genres that I listen to regularly
  8. I haven't seen him play at all but from what I've read he seems to be one of our brightest talents. Similar to that which Pelkas received before his senior debut.
  9. Google image Kerem Bulut and you'll see why Pash
  10. In the end he has to decide, is he a Paul or an Apostoli?
  11. If Giannou accepts a call up from Greece he risks playing his few games for a national side purely experimenting, trying all options in a stage of uncertainty. There is no promise of him being a part of their plans long term. Compared to the Australian national side, who's only consistent goal scorer Tim Cahill is at the closing stages of his career. Aside from Robbie Kruse, there isn't an Australian forward playing at a higher level, Giannou if he accepts Australia's call up will be shortlisted for future Australian national sides. As a career move Australia seems more promising on his end, but its a decision that also depends on which country he feels he belongs to, at least I hope so, these days you wouldn't know.
  12. Armenakas I think is still too early to say. The others however I agree. Ikonomidis has played for Australia despite never playing a senior game for Lazio but looks like a talent
  13. If they are to both play together Klaus needs to start making more direct runs in behind defenders. Berbatov will play with his back toward goal, exchanging quick passes with Pelkas and the like perhaps attract the attention of more than one defender.
  14. Going to come out and say it, at risk of being abused but I think Tziolis has been fantastic for us so far this season, one of our best performers. In seasons previous I haven't held back to point out how disappointing he's been but he's been consistently good so far, even with the odd Tziolis lapse here and there.
  15. That's what Tachtsidis is capable of, Zeman saw it when he was playing Serie B with Hellas Verona and he tried to get it out of him when he signed him for Roma. He's strong enough to break up play and keep the ball, but he's also a very good long pass, just needs to find consistency.
  16. We've become far too easy to score against, a far cry from the side we had under Santos that would shutout the opposition and win games by scoring lone goals. Play the 3-5-2 with Sokratis, Papadopoulos and Manolas, with Tachtsidis the anchor infront of them the rest of the positions are all interchangeable on form as far as I'm concerned.
  17. Tsalouchidis former Olympiakos, and Georgiadis formerly of PAO, PAOK & Newcastle. Its possible I did make some errors, a lot of the players were before my time and I could only really go by reputation and what I had read. Feel free to post your own XI, I'm sure there are some great players I've left out that I did not know were Pontian
  18. I was in G5, fantastic atmosphere, chants didn't stop from G4 but supporters in other sections grew restless, as the game went on it did start to die. Exiting the stadium the chants continued, if this was at any other stadium, you'd have thought the home team won. Disappointed I didn't see us beat the gavroi but I guess I can complain with the away win at Veria and home win v AEK, 2 out of 3 ain't bad
  19. Kace hasn't picked up where he left off last season. Jairo is simply terrible, not a good enough player to be playing for us. We haven't been able to penetrate through the middle of the park, it's Tziolis and Kace just moving the ball left to right. We outnumber central midfielders 3 to 2, playing a 3-5-2 we should be stretching their midfield even further and creating more space but we move the ball too slowly. Frustrating game, statistics say we deserved more but aside from maybe deserving a goal, it was a poor performance.
  20. I've gone to purchase a ticket and they've told me they need my AMKA number (social security number) which I don't have. If I was to purchase a ticket under my cousins name, would there be a chance they send me away when I get to the gate?
  21. Anyone know when tickets go on sale? So far I've found nothing
  22. No unfortunately! They sold out before I could get access to the net. Will try not to make the same mistake for the Olympiakos match
  23. Very much so Dutch! 2 wins from 2 games that I've seen, home and away. I'm here another month, some big games ahead I hope to get to. I'm staying in Florina, so a couple hours away from Thessaloniki, mostly PAOK fans here, met a few of the guys from the fan club, treli haha. Last night at the kafeneio a couple gavroi tried to watch the game, they couldn't handle the constant heckling and left early into the second half.
