  1. Poungouras loan? He would've played plenty had any of our defenders gone down with injury during the season, stupid move, we're so thin back there it's ridiculous.
  2. Mods please change thread name to PAOK Fans Pizzeria
  3. True, as the game wore on and we copped another goal he did try to make things happen by himself and lost the ball a couple times but I'm fine with that. He had a solid game, perhaps the only one out there. Leovac I thought was solid aside from one bad pass he gave that was intercepted and quickly turned into a counter attack. Again as we got further into the game errors crept in because we were trying to be more direct. Was unlucky not to have an assist with those two killer balls he put across the box.
  4. Lucas started, played 90 minutes and scored the game's first goal against Valencia today in a 1-1 draw away
  5. I wish it was possible to buy and then sell a player in the same transfer window, Olsen is a poor man's Chalkias. That's right, you read correctly
  6. Giannina knew we'd try to get in behind and use Mak's & Jairo's pace, so they sat back and allowed no room for them to run behind, we were toothless. Needed a real Striker today that could play with his back toward goal and distribute to on running midfielders like Pelkas. Kace was absolutely terrible, along with Olsen and Sabo, they'd be my 3 worst on ground, Tziolis not far off. Olsen might be the worst purchase we've ever made, Sabo was invisible until he popped up for an own goal. Kace took 8 corners, none of which went over the defender at the front post, failed to win tackles. Watching both him and Tziolis attempt to spray balls wide to Konstantinidis and Leovac actually became humorous.
  7. I'd assume it's match fitness but I could be wrong, I don't think Tudor could drop Malezas with the way our defensive stocks are at the moment
  8. I'd like us to have a Mike Zambidis-like record against Turkish opposition but I'm too scared, those clubs seem to keep signing better players
  9. I remember reading Vryzas spoke to him a season or two back but nothing come of it. I'd like to have a player like him next to Kace instead of Tziolis
  10. I'm in Melbourne a few times a year to see family and I've never been to the club there. Where about is it Tahma? My knowledge of Melbourne's CBD and outer suburbs is fairly limited.
  11. Off topic question, I'm currently in Athens and wondering whether the Euro 2004 trophy is on display somewhere, figured maybe EPO headquarters?
  12. My roots can be traced back my villages in Pontos. My father's family is from a village called Pistofandon in Santa in the district of Trapezounta. My father's side left Pontos and settled in a town named Kars, in what was then Russia (now near the Turkish-Georgian border) in the Caucasus Mountains prior to WWI breaking out. They lived there for some time until after WWI they moved to with many other Greeks to their spiritual homeland of Greece. Getting to Greece took them 3 years. Instead of being relocated to the abandoned homes of Turk's who were living in northern Greece, they decided the build a new village an hour from Florina, naming it Neos Nakfkasos (New Caucasus) in homage to the home they left behind. It's not a very old village, just over 90 years old, the second to last village (Niki is the last) before you reach the Skopje border if you're leaving from Florina. My mother's side did not manage to evade the Greek genocide affecting Pontos, they barely escaped from their village in Imera, also in the Trapezounta district. They settled in a village near Edessa, somewhat close to the Loutra like Nea Bafra, in a town named Apsalos. My great grandfather on my mother's side who lived through WWI as a child and passed At 104 years of age (on paper, he may have been older) and was of healthy body and mind till his death of old age, he recalled all of the events that transpired during his life in Pontos. He lived majority of his life in Australia till his death, he could speak Greek, Pontic Greek, Turkish and a little English. A few articles were written about him and his story in Greece. Long story short, I'm from villages near Florina and Edessa haha
  13. What's the story behind most Greek Americans? My knowledge is they settled some time before the immigration of most Greeks in Aus in the 60's, or am I wrong?
  14. If they clear both their wages and agree to have Costa reduce his, I'd assume they have plans to bring in yet more players if not in this transfer window, then the next
  15. When was the last time we started a season with our sponsor on the front our shirts? Also who is the major sponsor this season?
  16. Call me optimistic but after a pre season of not really addressing the gaping hole in the centre of defence (aside from signing a player that should've been on our list the previous season), a clean sheet away to a side that destroyed us there last season is a positive to build on for matchday 1. In saying that we still need another centreback as well as the forward we're expected to sign
  17. Stock was too predictable,, cut in onto his right and shooting from 25 yards nearly every time he became isolated with his direct opponent. I think with Tudor, Mak can be a much more well rounded and serviceable winger/inside forward than Stoch could mainly due to mentality and work rate. I always got the feeling Stoch felt he was bigger than the club and so far with Tudor we seem to be clicking as a team, don't want to jeopardise that with a big ego, keep bringing in hungry footballers who want to prove themselves as we have been!
  18. When do they announce the dates for Matchday 3? I'm trying to work out whether I can be in Veria for our game
