I like the fact that Skibbe tends to use Maitroglou Karelis Vellios and Diamantakos up front. I hope Bakasetas doesn't get played as a winger again because the guy simply doesnt cut it. With Samaris missing and Maniatis/Tziolis not being able to be starters due to no team I'd guess we have to see new persons in the midfield.And by new, I mean players we havent seen under Skibbe previously. Some ex-players who might reappear , and probably will are going to be Tachtsidis and Kone, who both got playing time in the previous weeks. Hoever not sure if Kone got what it takes to be a 8ari-6ari since he is mostly an offensive player. we are still with tzavellas getting a call up, but not being our starter. Holebas match against man u wasnt the only match he played well. he played against west ham as well. 2 totally solid teams. if skibbe denies him gametime because he bitched about being used as a LW it is gonna be catastrophic. He can step down if that means he can achieve his goal , which is to create a solid team that can try to qualify for the WC 2018. Otto did it as well but otto had decent back ups. Stafylidis is good and has potential but not ready yet to take the burdain of the starter in my humble opinion. Why have a solid defensively team and ruin it by creating a gap?

He needs to work out on his crossing however. I just hope they don't follow the "O ELLHNAS MESSI" path like Ninis,Fetfatzidis and Koutsianikoulis did, and just ruin their career before 25. With Samaris out of plan I can't expect anyone else other than Tachtsidis being called, who has some sort of playtime in Italy - but nothing too serious. Someone Serie A fit is totally a better solution than Tziolis and Maniatis. That doesn't mean we need to delete , Maniatis at least , from the NT. Im sure a team will be found to pay his wages.

Also I agree, maybe the arrivalf a talent like Katsouranis, who proved a key player for the NT could be the reason of his drop. fair point on the fact that both Salpi and Katsou were old, it's something I was aware while posting it but Im pretty sure that's not just it. The whole Zikos thing is totally irrelavant as we are actually talking about only 1 player playing in a decent team who was not selected under Rehhangel, which means he either couldn't fit in an Otto scheme or there was personal confict between the two. Noone disagrees that 2 εντεκάδες , one with only foreign based players(if we can find in every position) and one with GSL all stars (which would be nice to see in football but its impossible due to rivalry) would be a very ανισσόροπο match. I think you re the one who s debating just for the sake of debating. A player who is that bad against a team like Gibraltar (poor offensively, poor defensively , personal mistake cost a goal being scored against us) sure will rise questions on the coach and his assistants. Of course that doesn't mean we delete a professional footballer just for 1 mistake. But we have in our mind that he is not as solid as he should be , in order to help us reach a top 2 finish. I don't rate Stafylidis as a top defender. I rate stafylidis as a good wingerback. I don't rate Tzavellas as a top Left Back anymore, he seemed off position against League 1 and Gibraltar League players. So I would rather have another guy at offence being able to use his pace and maybe dribbles against no-namer defenders and help that way, than a CenterBack who s not even following the match. I might look harsh, but to be fair TZAVELLARAS was good vs Netherlands. If he keeps good appearances with Paok as well, a defender spot is reserved for him, also due to his ability to "play" 2 positions. Also I don't see how the tam/league you play has nothing to do with it. First Bigger competition means more tryhard, players all the time in form. Another thing is that whoever leaves Paok ex:Katsouranis,Tziolis,Salpiggidis, tend to have biiiiig troubles finding a new team. Also that selfish shoot against Costa Rica instead of passing probably EPO mad with him, and they should be. Tziolis should be a no but he probably has visma. B)Ikonomou is young and Serie A starter, he needs to be called up to get the mood of the NT, to not be a stranger with the others. C) Check Lazaros Lamprou who just left PAO (coz he realised with this full roster he aint getting any playtime this year either) and went to Iraklis. Boy scored on his debut. D) Diamantakos doing well at Bundesliga 2. Still not sure if he deserves a call up or not based on the fact that we are too full in that position, and he is not good as a winger. E) Fountas is another Winger Prospect. Keep an eye on him. Panionios gonna do well and whoever is responsible is gonna show. F) I also rate Vellidis as a goalkeeper. **I hope Pelkas gets playtime coz this paok seems full offensively. He got time at the debut. He should have been loaned.

Tzavellas has to be in the squad due to his ability to play both Left Back and Left Centerback. He also gives the whole "corrupt EPO only favors Oly/Aek/PAO/PAOK players" a cut. He is far more solid as cb than Oikonomu , our 4th in the row, so I totally want him in the squad. He doesn't have to start however. Skibbe made his point by benching Holebas at the match against Gibraltar. His choice to have Tzavellas over Holebas cost us a goal scored against us, and maybe a few more chances created by Holebas himself. He will be a fool if he thinks that - benching Holebas for the good of the team - is actually a move that will have a good ending for the team. Tzavellas as a LB lead our NT to get scored from Gibraltar. Would be quite harder for such mistakes not to appear against teams like Cyprus and Bosnia. If he is a professional he will talk with Holebas and see this through. Karelis isnt even playing at Genk right now, not sure why/what's happening. Gianniotas is a MUST on the squad. brings pace, has a footballer's brain and is totally in form.Plus he plays in the cypriot league and might know a couple of defenders well enough. Since Maniatis aint even allowed to train with Olympiakos, I'd give a try to siopis, at least a call-up

It's a good thing we play them at home so early, and at the pre-last match away. If our campaign has gone great until then , while they have already been eliminated (quite the big possibility despite not being as bad as their pot suggests), i do believe they will give us the match. The mentality in Cyprus when it comes to football matters is that they are interested and aware. I knew lots of Cypriots cheering in WC 14. If the same mentality exists to their players/their EPO who knows?

A 5 man back formation against Belgium home/away and Bosnia away is the right way to go. Do not forget that Greece gamestyle, the one that got us into success was just waiting for the opponent to attack us and hit on the counter attack. We struggled with the ball on our feet against even Gibraltar and Liechtenstein the previous years. Play 5 back and Put a Fortounis Gianniotas Mitroglou front trio 5-2-3 and we might even win Bosnia easier than we beat gibraltar.

complete post but i dont believe either mano or sok get benched. kyriakos is a starter again but who tells u he ll be healthy in 1 month. Holebas LB is a must. Torosidis RB is a must. Mitroglou Gianniotas and Fortounis and Mantalos are a must. Both players must play that's probably one gets a wing. the others even Samaris has dissapointed me. I dont think we have any super solution on the 6,8. Our midfield suchs just get over it. Even trying to adjust new players like Siopis right now is too risky because u cant make him sync with the team with 1-2 training sessions. Taxi i relaly hope he gets playing time there.

Bosnia even lost from Cyprus they are not as bad as u think.
