  1. Mark my words too... We are not in good shape at all... Vlepw diplo.......... Team will come together in Belgium and surprise a few people but it wont be a enough... will definately be a nail biter though
  2. This game does not bode well for me..... Our offense hasn't shown ANYTHING in the off season... no chemistry aside from Kaltsa showing a lot of maturity and determination but he's not expected to get significant playing time during this game The thing that will do us in is our defense.... Tavla/Sanchez are on two completely different planets in terms of chemistry..... they are both turtles and Anastasiou is trying to change Sanchez's style/game.... Sanchez likes to organize his defense and urge his teammates to rush up ahead and attack... Anastasiou had a "sit down" trying to restructure Sanchez' fundamental philosphy..... Thats a gigantic red flag.... Not to mention, our goal keeper situation is in dire straits.... Steele is injured and rushing to come back from his injury.... I dont think he will be as fluid as he typically is which is bad news.... we saw it during the Levadiakos game Kotsolis is our backup.. but he does not communicate well with the defense and he moves like a 60 yr old... his dives are in slow motion.... He's a decent shot stopper but thats about it.... Nano is injured... Xouxou is not a good defender (good wing back though)... Pranjic is decent at LB but he doesn't have any chemistry with the LW player.... We are in bad shape..... its only been a month since our last official game and yet we look like a completley disjointed, unrecognizable team..... Does not bode well at all....
  3. I'm working 15 hr days 12 out of 14 days..... there isn't much time for me to be flying to Europe hahaha
  4. Just saw the goals... there keeper made extremely silly errors... We shouldn't expect that kind of treatment... Brugge's goal looks like a team in sync... extremely smooth transitions... good instinct.. solid finishing.... The team is quality... no doubt about it
  5. Brugge had its mind on our game... Don't take any comfort from them losing today.... they will be a completely diff team... They are a VERY VERY good team and will make us pay if we play lazy and are not 100%.... they are probably AS good or BETTER than Olympiakos..... not a walk in the park by any means
  6. Yah this whole thing was swept under the rug.... Can't beleive a tiny part of me expected something to happen..... On another note... that picture brings back good memories.... 30 hr bus ride to toronto was well worth it..... good times stelio
  7. Our defense is WAAAAAYYY too slow.... thats what will make us pay.... Tavlaridi is slower than a turtle... and the million dollar man Sanchez is still thinking of tail in Ibiza
  8. It's going nowhere Infantino has publicly backed the gavro in every instance.... dont expect this to be any different Additionally, the gavro is being defended by someone who has worked in UEFA for a while... lots of strings to be pulled
  9. Cocksta... Actually... yes I do... Why do think no one else wanted him... Essien is still a pretty big name for any decent European league... yes he's 32 but its still a relatively decent/good pickup on a mid table Italian/German/Spanish He should have still gotten offers from them... instead he got offers from us and the MLS.... and the MLS never really followed up with their offer, so the only real offer he had was from us When we had 2000 people show up at the airport to greet the guy...flying in on a pvt jet... without him putting pen to paper.... ITS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN THE GUY AWAY The guy was signed once he stepped foot out of the plane... The fans had made there stance known.. and there was absolutely NO WAY you could say "no" to him now.... All this talk about "physicals" was just 'talk" as a "breakdown of talks due to failing to pass a physical" would have caused MAJOR BACKLASH from the fans... harmed panathinaiki symmaxia and harmed our ticket sales... Everyone would have though that Alafouzo changed the deal on him or whatever... even if the real reason was a failed physical Bottom line... we just have to make the best out of it... We had the luxury of saying "no" to Alafaro b/c no one knew who he was... he was a nobody that had a decent youtube profile... big deal You coudln't say "no" to Essien when he is the last "big name" player in 5 years that we brought to the team We got suckered into this one boys.... Bad business.... At 32 with these abdominal issues and surgery... and a guy who uses tenacity to establish his game... the omens do NOT bode well for this signing....... What i hate the most... is not so much that we signed Essien... but that we spent the money that we could have used for other players that would have made a known impact... Like Abeid....
  10. So my input on the Essien operation.... Well to be honest... they aren't really giving me much info to work with... All they are saying is an abdominal surgery (most likey in the abdominal rectus)... Now typically... abdominal surgeries are pretty low risk and most people (general people like you and me) can be back on their feet and back to normal within a week or less... Essien isn't a typical person like you and me... he's an athlete that requires the use of his abdominal muscles MUCH MUCH MUCH more than people like me and you who require them at a much less strenuous capacity... For athletes, the "healing" time usually takes a bit longer... 2-3 weeks at least... and the problem with abdominal surgeries is that you typically reinjure the area VERY frequently b/c your CONSTANTLY using the muscle and not letting it rest/heal fully... your using them to walk, run, sit up, bend over, lean, kick, jump, cough, s%$#!... your almost constantly using your rectus muscles for everything So I agree he should be "healed" from that in about a month... however, he will need to start "training camp" all over... since his fitness will be 0... so tack on about another 3 weeks... another 2 weeks to assimilate into the team... we wont' be seeing Essien till end of August-early September This could all change, b/c I dont have all the neccesary info to know what exactly essien is getting done.... however, thats a pretty decent general description of what could happen
  11. Yah Ajagun is a bust for me... NO FOOTBALLING IQ AT ALL.... Not to mention, you'd think after 3 yrs, his touch would improve slightly... as a matter of fact I think its gotten WORSE There was a small period of time maybe 2 months.. when he became consistant and reliable and scored 4 goals in 7 or 8 games... but then he got injured and was never the same player In any case, it doesn't seem like he's matured at all... we have other players who have been with the team for a shorter time and have matured more than he has.... If we appear in Europe... and he gets some game time... I woudlnt mind selling him for 1-2 million
  12. I say whats on my mind... thats what a forum is all about
  13. No definately not a starter but but has a completely diff element to his game and when he's on his game... he can push anyone to the limits
  14. First off, at least I take a stance on things and I make a formal opinion.. whether right or wrong Second off... when have ever called u the best poster of all time........
  15. Looks like Mantzio is doing well to shield the ball against the million dollar signing....... -_-
  16. Lets see what happens... I was a little hopeful since they haven't made any big signings and little signings from random SL teams... but now they are starting to spend a good amount of cash... 2 million for Kapino, 1 million for Gouta... 4 million for Pardo.... in total they spent 10 million (our entire budget) and there are still 3-4 more players on "their way"... Given that they have proceeded with spending.. I dont see anything happen
  17. Alafouzo again with his m*****es..... In regards to Kapino... Kaname protasi gia ton Kapino gia danismo.... kai meta leei... o Kapino den eixe thesi i mellon ston PAO kai den xerame to mellon tou stin omada.... Re Alafouze.... ean den exei mellon me tin omada ti s**** ton ferneis pisw..................Anyway... bottom line the kid chose to play for them... still can't believe it... but showing his true colors.... Then as for transfers... he says we are done... then an hour later he says... oh wait we are looking at two guys and mavria.... Props to him for working out a solid training center and working on getting the academy kids a place to train at Anyway... lets see what actually happens... but I have a feeling the Olympiako stuff is bourdes again to have the fans get riled up again....
  18. Man for Man we are crap If we use our cohesiveness as a team and the atmosphere from last year's playoffs.... we have a chance against brugge and a hope against Ajax Monaco, CSKA or Shaktar is a snowball's chance in hell..... at least we can say hi to Jardim if we are against Monaco
