On another note... Really disheartening to see Barales (of Astera) go to some mid table turkish side for only 1.5 million.... Really sad to see thats how much the top scorer of the SL is worth nowadays..... That guy is a SOLID CF and would definately have a spot on our team... no doubt about it... no one has the power he possess Astera were IDIOTS to let this guy go for peanuts as well... who have they replaced him with? Going to start training again with the team within a few days.... Reports are saying that he lost approximately 9-10 lbs within the past 2-3 weeks.... If thats true... thats EXTREMELY unprofessional of him.... who allows themselves to blow up to that size?? Given 3-4 of those lbs probably water weight.... but STILL.... First off... PAOK is a bourdelo.... That team is set up for failure this season.... If things start coming apart at the seams (they already are) by November... they will struggle to make playoffs.... PAS or Atromito will edge them out of the playoffs Second off... our team is OK.. we'll do OK in the league... but the real question is are we better than the gavro and can we be more consistent... Those are HUGE questions that I was a little more certain a few weeks ago... now.. I"m on the fence again 1) Our defense is a Luna Park.... everyone gets a ride for free.... 2) Sanchez instead of putting in hard work.. he's out instagramming the whole world with this wife enjoying the "good life" of Greece 3) Our midfield has transgressed.... an older Pranjic... a non-improving Lago... Ajagun who has a 1st touch who a baby elephant would be proud of... Koutroubi (enough said)... Ninis (the only bright spot, but he's extremely inconsistent)..... -The new guys I'm not mentioning b/c they were brought on as bench players... NOT 1st teamers.... Also...not including broken Essien 4) The lack of difference makers in this team.... when 1-2 of the more influential guys are off.... it takes only short of a miracle to turn a game around 5) The gavro looks good and seems to have found a core of players.. something I didn't count on until October.... Gavro did well to pick up a coach who has an extensive connection to the Brazilain/Portuguese/Spanish markets where they can pick up influential players 6) On the other hand, we have to do extensive scouting to pick up a player on the cheap that may or may not work.. and is more billed as a backup than a 1st team player It will be an interesting season.... will be tooth and nail with the gavro for most of the season... unless Anastasiou lets the pressure get to him and then we are out of a coach by December

Here we have Asteras' owner name allegedly involved in a "well documented" case... and Astera is sitting pretty Alafouzo is being made to look really dumb now as he said something would happen to them weeks ago..... I will agree with you at one point.... its really sad that we have so little season ticket holders.... yet the gavro has 17,000 already... and thats with barely any signings.. half their players leaving... they brought an aging cambiasso and they almost have double what we have.... In that way its sad

I'm not referring to the 1st playoffs... During the 1st playoffs... we were unbeatable... the form that the team achieved was UNREAL.... TRULY ENJOYED watching that team do MAGIC 2nd playoffs.. we looked good b/c our opposition was absolutely depleted First off, I think your "overplaying" our form from the 2nd half... we had a decent run but it wasn't anywhere near the amazing spectacle you make it out to be.. As for the playoffs, I will repeat myself... we only looked good b/c our team was playing against DEAD opposition.... If i was to suit up for these games against the likes of Atromito, Astera and PAOK (in the shape that they were)... I'd look like an all-Star with Real Madrid and Barcelona eyeing for my signature When push comes to shove and you face real opposition.. you see what real quality you possess... Ala Koutroubi acting like a fool in the Brugge games, whereas he acted like the next Makelele or Viera

** You are sadly mistaken Val... We looked so "good" during the playoffs b/c our opponents were DEAD, tired and injured... PAOK had more injuries than available players... Astera had been playing since June... they were were playing for 1 yr non stop and had Euro duties Atromito was managed by a bufoon but managed to get into playoffs due to technicality and spent all their energy to enter "playoff race" Not only that.. but we "rested" and coasted for 5-6 games after tha gavro game.... most of our 1st team players were left out and a lot of other players were given opportunties.. plus we looked rather lifeless out there b/c we were sooo far ahead Therefore, when playoffs started our team seemed "rested" and we had better 'fitness" than them

The guy has lost control of his team already.... he hasn't been on the job for 2 months and yet he's alienated his squad So far Pereyra and Loukas have been ostracized... two of their best players... luckily Lucas was sold so they made some money off of him... but Pererya would be a solid fit for any team Now he just turned on the youth... Mystakidi..... he pretty much booted the poor kid off the field... NOt only that.. but his tactics are absolute BOGUS... if he fields that kinda stuff in the super league PAOK is going to have a VERY VERY tough time.... They will only win 2-3 games in the first 6 matches.... With that guy at the helm... u can be rest assured they are going nowhere FAST Also, they are a completely new team, so it will take 3-4 months till they find their chemistry

Time will tell.. but if we look unfit during the first 5 games... the season is already spelled out for us
