Kotarski saved the tie for us.
-
Unbelievable. Samatta in for Chalov.
-
We played well in 1st half. Only thing missing was the goal. Hopefully the same will continue in 2nd half.
-
Lovren is not even a PAOK player yet.
-
This is important game. Our first derby this season, and with a win we increase our gap with Panathinaikos by 8 points. Need to win this one even if it is just 1:0.
-
It was apparently Despodov that turned down the offer. Besides him we also turned down offers for Brandon (800K), Baba, and Konstantelias.
-
Lovren is signed for two years. He will be paid 800K + bonuses the first year and 700K + bonuses the second year. He just turned 35 in July, so he might still have something to give. Maybe he will turn out to be another Taison. In any case he is quite an experienced defender, and will help out Kedziora who will need a break once in a while.
-
With Solet out, it looks like that we are trying to sign the 35 year old Croatian CB Dejan Lovren (ex-Liverpool, Southampton, Olympique Lyon, Zenit St. Petersburg, Dinamo Zagreb) on the last day of the transfer period. He has also played 78 times for the Croatian national team.
-
Solet is not coming to PAOK. Solet's agent was in Thessaloniki trying to get a deal done, but the player decided that he does not want to come to Greece. Apparently he turned down Olympiakos as well at the beginning of the transfer period. In the meantime, Kottas from the 'B' team has been training with the senior squad. Always a chance he might develop into another Koulierakis. Also, today Savvidis is meeting at Halkidiki with Lucescu, Karypidis, Goncharova and Kyrgiakos to discuss the current status of PAE PAOK.
-
Faroe Islands - Greece 0:4 (13. Kourfalidis, 22. Kostis, 51. Koutsias, 65. Niarchos) This win moves us to 2nd place, one point ahead of Croatia, but we played an extra game. Our loss to Belarus will cost us possible 2nd place finish and a chance of qualifying to the next stage.
-
Konstantelias not starting again today against Ireland. Hope he doesn't play today at all. Why risk injury. We have an important game on Sunday. For him to get a start he needs to be sold by PAOK first.
-
Rumors are that we are trying to sign a CB by tomorrow's deadline. The player we are apparently after is Oumar Solet from Salzburg. Let's hope they are still not pissed off that we did not sell them Konstantelias.
-
I would not mind seeing PAS Giannina back in Superleague 1.

Not only that. There are two jurisdictions that can hand out punishments for the same incident during a game. One is the Superleague disciplinary commission and the other is a police commission (DEAB) set up by the government to fight athletic violence. For the game against Atromitos the Superleague punished PAOK with 1,00 Euro due to the fact that our fans were chanting swear words directed at Warda. They were not aware of any incidents taking place at the stadium. On the other hand DEAB was looking into alleged fan trouble that ended up taking place as it turns out, away from the stadium, if they took place at all.

Superleague 2 starts new season on September 21. Just like last season the league will consist of two groups. The winner of each group will be promoted to Superleague 1. Four teams will be relegated. The two groups are as follows: GROUP A: AE Larisa AO Kavala Diagoras Rhodos Ethnikos Neo Kerammidio Kambaniakos Chalastra Makedonikos Neapolis Niki Volos PAS Giannina PAOK Thessaloniki 'B' POT Iraklis Fournoi Venetis GROUP B: AE Kifisia AEK Athens 'B' Aigaleo Asteras Aktor 'B' Chania FC GS Ilioupolis Kalamata FC Panahaiki Patra Panionios Athens Panargeiakos Argos

There was danger of this game to be played without fans due to alleged fan trouble in the Atromitos - PAOK game, but at the end we were not punished. The game will take place with fans. Hopefully Toumba will be full.
-
Still waiting for new Toumba, but in the meantime we can celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Toumba Stadium inauguration. It was September 6, 1959, when the Toumba Stadium was opened to the public for the first time with a friendly game against AEK Athens which was won by PAOK 1:0 with a goal by Kiourtzis. . The stadium capacity at that time was 15,000. Here is is aerial view of Toumba in 1959 and a pic of the PAOK - AEK friendly, the first game at Toumba Stadium.

Well Otto can also play LB as well. I really thought Vieirinha would be in just to pad his European statistics. Let's just hope there are no serious injuries, especially to our CB's. -

PAOK in Europe 2024-2025 (News, Draws, Rankings)
Blackhawk replied to Dutch Eagle's topic in PAOK FC
Samatta and Gomez are probably the two certain ones. If I had to venture a guess on the other two it would be one of Sastre/Otto and one of Murg/Brandon
