Current Cup Holder: PAOK Thessaloniki EPO has announce the new structure for the 2018-2019 Greek Cup competition. 85 teams will take part: 53 Amateur Cup Winners 16 Football League teams 16 Superleague teams Superleague teams will not enter the competition until Stage 4 which is the group stage. Final will take place on May 18, 2019 at OAKA Stadium Here are the details: Entry fees: Superleague teams (€ 5,000), Football League teams (€ 3,000), Amateur Teams (€ 300) Round 1 The 53 Amateur Cup winners will take part in this round. 1 team will receve a bye into the next round. The remaining 52 teams will be drawn separated into 4 regional groups. Draw will be made to create 26 matchups, which will consist of a single leg. The winners + the team receiving the bye will qualify to Round 2 (27 teams in total) Round 2 The 27 amateur teams that qualified from Round 1 will take part in this round 5 teams will receive a bye into the next round. The remaining 22 teams will be split into 2 regional groups (North & South) of 11 teams each. Draw will be made to create 11 matchups, which will consist of a single leg. The winners + the 5 teams receiving the bye will qualify to Round 3 (16 teams in total). Round 3 The 16 amateur teams that qualified from Round 2 and the 16 Football League teams will take part in this round. The Football League teams will be seeded and will be drawn against the 16 amateur teams. The amateur teams will be the home team in this one leg matchup. The 16 winners will qualify to next stage. Round 4 The Group Stage of the competition. The winners of the Round 3 (16 t eams) plus the Superleague teams (16 teams) will form 8 groups of 8. Each group will consist of 2 Superleague teams and 2 teams that qualified from Round 3. At this stage each team will play three games. The Superleague teams will play two away games and 1 home game. The group draw will consist of 8 seeded team that finished 1-8 in last season's Superleague, the remaining 8 Superleague teams, Football League teams, and the remaining amateur teams that qualified. The top 2 teams from each group will qualify to Round 5. Round 5 The 16 teams that qualify from Round 4 will take part in this round. The group winners will be seeded in the draw. The draw will produce 8 matchups which will consist of 2 legs. The unseeded teams will play their home game first. Winners of each matchup qualify to Round 6. Round 6 (Quarterfinals) The 8 winners from Round 5 will take part in this round. The draw will produce 4 matchups and will consist of 2 legs. There will be no seeding in this round. Round 7 (Semifinals) The draw will produce 2 matchups and will consist of 2 legs. Round 8 (Final) The Final will take place on May 18, 2018 at OAKA Stadium in Athens. What a lame excuse by PAE PAOK. Novasport has no problem televising the game and since PAOK TV just uses their feed I see no reason why PAOK TV is not streaming the game. Looks like there were changes to our pre-season friendlies schedule. Our new confirmed friendlies for the second half of pre-seson training are: 09-July, 20:00 EEST: PAOK - Steaua Bukurest (Romania) - at Apeldron12-July, 19:00 EEST: PAOK - KAA Gent (Belgium) - at Marasingel15-July, 13:30 EEST: PAOK - Royal Antwerp (Belgium) - at Halderberge (early kick-off due to WC Final later in the day) There is a possibility that we will also play a game on July 16. Previously we were scheduled to play Al Taawoun on that day.

How is Vermont Yianko? One of only 5 US states that I have not visited yet. As for the friendlies they mean nothing. The only games that count will be played on July 24 and August 1.

Mauricio needs to stay unless Ivan brings in Natkho. I think Mauricio will have a great season if he stays. Same goes for El Kaddouri.

The team return to the base in Thessaloniki tomorrow. I think before they leave for the 2nd part of the training there will be some roster cleanup. I expect few loans to be announced. Also Prijovic will join the team, and it will be interesting to see if Warda joins as well. In the next set of games I expect lineups to be streamlined to start resembling the starting 11 for the Basel game. Even if we make transfers in the next few days, I don't expect those players to play against Basel.

NOVA is not offering anything of such value. It's the crazy Syriza government that promises money through ERT to supplement the current NOVA money (that covers only 8 teams right now). They are doing that ahead of the general elections. It was revealed today at the SL emergency meeting that the money the idiot Vasiliadis promises are guaranteed for for just one year, which basically proves that it is just a pre-election gimmick. At least the SL owners had the brains to tell him to f... himself.

I don't expect the team to show us anything in these early pre-season games. In the end some of these players will never play together again. The main thing is to be ready on July 24 against Basel.

Like I said it was a problem with some internet providers which affected several Greek web site and probably included PAOK TV. Several Thessaloniki radio stations were down as well. They all came back about 10 minutes ago. Anyway the game ended in a 2:2 tie. Next game Monday against FC Nordsjaelland

Apparently PAOK received 600K from Alanyaspor for Campos. Not bad for a player that had only 1 year contract left with the team. I don't think it was in our interest to sign him to a new 3-year contract and that's why he left.

Superleague despite pressure from the lunatic Secretary of Sports today decided that 2018-2019 season will take place with 16 teams without playoffs. It was also decided that 2019-2020 season will take place with 14 teams Superleague also agreed to the proposal to create Superleague 2 as a the other professional league and to downgrade the Football League into a semi-professional league. There are still 6 teams without a TV contract and they are threatening to block the start of the Superleague on August 25 if they don't get one.
