Relegation should happen if that's what the rules say. Look Superleague survived without AEX for couple years. It would survive without Panathinaikos too. And as a result it would make the league more trustworthy. There is no way the big teams (or the small ones for that matter) will trust each other if rules can change in mid-season depending on who it involves. Streamlining the league with 12 clubs is the right move, but it won't make any difference if you are going to manipulate the rules as was done in the past.

Only two CB's in the squad. That means Mihojevic will get his debut in the PAOK jersey. Should be a fun game to see. The team surely will try to get Prijovic win the scoring title. Key players will need to be careful not to be red-carded and miss the cup final. Panathinaikos should either pay their debt to players or end up being relegated according to the rules of Superleague. It's exactly what is wrong with this country and as a result football as well. Different rules depending on who you are. As for Panathinaikos retaliating they will in the future. They were backstabbing other teams in the past. Why would they change now. PAOK's only mistake in the past few years was that they could believe they could cooperate with slime like the owners of Panathinaikos and AEK.

In other news. In Greek football the more things change the more they stay the same. Today Superleague voted in mid-season to change the rule about licensing. The season started with a rule that if a team can't get a license to play in Superleague than they have to be relegated to Football League. All of a sudden Panathinaikos can't or is not willing to pay players salaries so what does Superleague do? They change the rule. Now a team that does not get a license starts the next season with -6 points and can't make transfers. It took three votes to finally accomplish this, but in the end they did. What a joke.

EPO (KED) had the bright idea of appointing Kominis to ref the game on Sunday between Levadeiakos and Panionios. Two hours later they withdrew him claiming that he is injured (?) I think it was a move by the AEK controlled EPO to show their strength ahead of the final.

The 3rd appeal was turned down. Effectively AEX wins the title on paper. This topic is now closed.

Looks like Eric Sabo who is on loan to Beitar Jerusalem will be sold to the team from Israel. The are offering around 300K to purchase the player outright. Should be a no brainer.

There are no German teams in the qualifying rounds of CL.

Apparently we are staying at Toumba for another year. Hopefully it does not mean that Savvidis changed his mind even though I would not blame him. Sadly I don't think we will see many fans on Saturday at Toumba. I believe most fans will be at Halkidiki beaches. If we have 15,000 fans we should be happy. Once again PAE PAOK missed the boat by taking advantage of positive public relations event. This game should have been a gift to PAOK fans. They should have announced 5 Euro tickets with proceeds going to charity, and in the process thanking the fans for the sacrifice they had to endure this season (11 games in empty Toumba). Also for us outside of Greece I am waiting for this game to be provided for free on PAOK TV. I am still waiting for a refund for the PAOK - Olympiakos game which was never played!!!!

First of all the table is not on the EPO site. it's the Superleague site. And second of all the standings shown are the correct. They don't include the result of the PAOK - AEK game because the outcome is still in the courts. The final appeal is being heard by EPO tomorrow. If anything it should be showing PAOK with 67 points since according to the match report the game was 1:0 in favor of PAOK when it got interrupted.

Now that we secured the 2nd place (barring any point deductions for the Platanias game) let's look ahead to out participation in the 2018-2019 European competitions. PAOK will start the 2018-2019 European competitions in the Champions League qualifying rounds. UEFA changed the format of the qualifying rounds for non-champions route. In the past, 5 teams from the non-champion route qualified to the group stage of the competitions. With the new format only 2 non-champion teams will qualify to the group stage. The other major difference is that teams from Spain, England, Italy and Germany will not take part in the non-champion qualifying. PAOK enters the competition with 29.500 points in the rankings. Unfortunately this could be higher if we did not do so poorly last season by beingb eliminated by Ostersund. PAOK will enter the competition in the 2nd Qualifying Round of CL and will need to eliminate 3 teams in order to reach the group stage. Let’s take a look on what PAOK can expect: QUALIFYIN ROUND 2 (non-champions): Six teams will take part in this round. PAOK could be seeded in this rounds. It all depends on who wins the Turkish championship. If Galatasaray wins, then PAOK will be seeded. If Basaksehir manages to spring a surprise and wins the Turkish title then PAOK will be unseeded. Let’s look at the possible situations: If Galatasary wins Turkish championship: SEEDED TEAMS: FC Basel (SWI) – 71.000 Ajax Amsterdam (HOL) – 53.500 PAOK Thessaloniki (GRE) - 29.500 UNSEEDED TEAMS (possible PAOK opponents: Basaksehir (TUR) – 8.500 Slavia Prague or Sigma Olomouc (CZE) – 7.500 Sturm Graz (AUT) – 2.500 I Galatasaray finishes 2nd in Turkey than they will be in the seeded group and PAOK will fall to the unseeded group. The draw for Qualifying Round 2 will take place on June 19. The games will be played on July 24/25 and July 31/August 1. If PAOK does not qualify than we automatically enter the Europa League Qualifying Round 3, where we will most like be among the seeded teams. QUALIFYIN ROUND 3 (non-champions): If PAOK qualifies to Qualifying Round 3, then along with the two other teams that qualify, the following teams will be taking part: Ukraine 2nd place: Dinamo Kiyv or Shakhtor Donetsk Portugal 2nd place: Benfica Lisbon or Sporting Lisbon Belgium 2nd place: Anderlecht Brussels or Standard Liege France 3rd place: Olympique Lyon or AS Monaco or Olympique Marseille Russia 3rd place: Spartak Moscow or CSKA Moscow or Zenit St. Petersburg PAOK will be in the unseeded group of teams. The draw for 3rd qualifying round will take place on July 23 and the games will be played on August 7/8 and August 14/15. If PAOK loses in this round we will automatically enter the group stage of Europa League. QUALIFYIN ROUND 4 (non-champions): If PAOK by miracle manages to qualify to this round with the 3 other teams from qualifying round 3 than we will play for one of the two spots that lead to the group stage of CL. PAOK will be unseeded. The draw will take place on August 6 and the games will take place4 on August 21/22 and August 28/29. If PAOK loses in this round we will automatically enter the group stage of Europa League. Nothing is impossible, but I think realistically PAOK’s best chance is qualifying from the qualifying group 2 and then ending up in the group stage of Europa League.

Last game of the season. Hopefully fans will come out to Toumba and show the team the respect it deserves for winning the Superleague title on the field, where the game should be played. It should be a celebration for the best PAOK team in the recent decades, and it should be a send-off to the final of the Greek cup. The game was switched from Sunday to Saturday and will be televised on PAOK TV.

I did not see the game but thoroughly enjoyed listening to it on my drive home from Pittsburgh. Nice win.

Everyone should get in. The issue is if we will have casualties before the game. The Original21 chickens already came out with an announcement that they will chase out any PAOK fans out of Athens. There will be problems outside the stadium for sure and I expect that there will be in the stadium as well. And it will not come necessarily from AEK fans. They will have help from their red buddies. Their goal is still to get into the Champions League for next season. Our fans will need to be very careful.
