I never thought he was a fit for our team, I'm still not sure he would be. He feeds off a dominant midfield, we didn't even have one of those when we won the title. 10 games though was never enough to see what he could do.

I don't disagree. Just trying to point out that this is the least optimal time for everyone involved. He won't play this week so if his direct competition has a good game it starts him off on the wrong foot. Fortunately for him he will be their record signing [pretty sure about this] so they will definitely want him in the side.
