  1. Does this mean Golasa is back?? -edit- or there are no buyers, so they want to keep him in good enough shape that he can be sold this winter?
  2. If Toro can't play wingback, then there are plenty of other domestic players that can. I get what you're saying with the 3-CB defense, but Ninis in that position would look pretty bad I think.
  3. No Klaus, huh? Interesting. surely Koulouris gets a start, then?
  4. That means a stream, I would think!
  5. I'm loving these stories, keep them up guys!
  6. It gives me hope that Tudor acknowledged that the park-the-bus mentality is something they're specifically targeting their next signing towards.
  7. As for people who can play in that position - I believe Jairo, Rodrigues, and Mistakidis all can play there too (Mistakidis is an AM/second striker). As they as good as Pereyra? Maybe, maybe not. Look on the bright side - more game time for Pelkas.
  8. Well, he apparently just agreed terms with Sunderland, haha
  9. Doesn't help his case that the team then went and bought something like six players who play in his positions. He's the past, I'm quickly getting over it. Lino was at our season opener, and I believe is now working for us as a scout (I saw a headline on twitter but haven't had time to read the article). Solid.
  10. Our beaches are much better than what you filthy Greeks have.
  11. I guess it depends on why he wants to leave. The first rumor is that he was in contact with Olympiakos, so logically he'd want to go for a pay day and or to win the championship. But in spite of what our dear friends in the PAO forums believe, Panathinaikos doesn't have a squad that will accomplish any more than we can, and I doubt they could offer him more money (unless they think he's worth breaking the bank over). If he got fed up with the team after our disasterous end to the season, that's one another thing entirely.
  12. He's a talented guy, he'll do well even in a bottom-of-the-table team. All the more reason to send him to another league.
  13. I didn't have the heart to tell him that. Some people need their delusions.
  14. A player that wants to play. Hear that, Samaras?
  15. I know plenty of people with doctorates who are teaching beginner Greek classes ;) Ahh, the land of opportunity. Better than the horio, I guess.
  16. Well, now we're not at risk of blooding him too quickly, amirite?
  17. My mom's side came in the mid 70's, my dad in the early 80s. I think their area had had one large "migration" that happened in the 30s, from Corfu. Whenever I go back to their church, you can definitely tell who's descended from them - they're elderly men and women who do not speak Greek at all. I'd say 90% of the people who are active in that community, are first gen like me (and their immigrant parents/grandparents). I went to the Greek-American museum in Chicago's Greektown right after it opened, and it seemed to focus on people from the 50s and (some considerably) earlier. I found it hard to relate. It seems that the diaspora grows by waves, at any rate. With the newest wave happening since the crisis (obviously). Generally more educated than the font from which I sprung.
  18. I know nearly nothing about Vergos, but him being loaned out to a segunda division club bodes well for the future, assuming he gets game time. At the risk of displeasing Doxa, I will put out a few thoughts on Pelkas - he's been a massive surprise. He was nowhere near this good his first season, and he seemed to be a non-entity while on loan last year. Everything is hugely improved, and I have no idea how this happened. Wonderful dribbler too, which means he's as fun to watch as he is effective.
  19. The kafenio is the gyradiko you were talking about? If this guy somehow gets matches there, I will literally pay rent.
  20. Thursday's game can absolutely be used to rest players like Pelkas and our defenders, and be used to give more time to Koulouris and Klaus (as we were saying a few days ago). I think ideally, we go back to last Thursday's lineup for this weekend, with a minimum of changes - these guys need to be worked in slowly, and I don't really agree that there's a lot of pressure to get them in immediately. The team is fresh and the season is long, after all. Cimirot being injured is a problem, but Kace will also be available for the next match, as he has now served his suspension.
  21. I kind of figured they'd be slowly bringing in more people across each of the next three or four transfer windows instead of this wholesale cleanout all at once. I guess we'll see, though. Tudor explicitly stated during his press conference today that they need a very good striker that will help them with teams like today's, which will need a lot more effort than normal to "unlock."
  22. Inpaok is saying Maduro has also agreed to terminate his contract, he may be heading to Groningen. They're also claiming that Toivonen has agreed terms with Arnesen, and they're waiting on Rennes to agree as well. Should know in the next day or so.
  23. Probably not, no
  24. The writing was on the wall, but it'll be sad to see the old warrior go. I guess Veria awaits.
  25. Wanna take a guess?
