Two things for me: A brutal workload these days so I don't have as much free time to chat (these European games are during the workday for me) PAOK's pathetic performances have coincided with my NFL team having an absolutely fantastic and hugely exciting season, so I have given in and allowed myself to enjoy it. Also, the scheduling this season has resulted in their Sunday games being on at the same time as PAOK's. It's truly amazing how much better of a product this is than what PAOK can put out. No fans are rioting...a full 65k seat stadium...much higher quality video production...better commentary...a competently run team full of professionals (on the field and off)...why subject myself to Greek football? Even the officiating and political scandals are so pathetically low-grade in comparison.

Here's the thing - the team will not root out the bad apples. Those psychos (G4) have managed to convince themselves AND the team that they are the lifeblood of PAOK. The team is scared sh1tless of them. I'm sick of this garbage. And to those reading this and thinking "well Savvidis is an absentee owner, he needs to do more" - WHAT? Since when do we need a daddy to tell a team how to be run? Why is G4 acting like a human beings contingent on a strongman kowtowing to the mob? Do they not have an administrative staff? Security? Coaches? Do you need our big Russian daddy to pat your head and tell you you're a good and worthwhile boy? To whisper platitudes about how strong and handsome these hooligans are as he tucks each and every one of them into bed at night? In civilized countries, professionals do their jobs and "fans" don't riot with impunity in their own home stadiums. As far as the unvaccinated fans go - every team should be punished for it every time a single person in their stadium is found breaking the rule. It is not a sufficient excuse to say "but but but everyone ELSE does it and they don't get in trouble!" Maybe if those other teams' fans were jumping barriers and entering the field, they'd be found out too?

Was a nice goal, too. Took a few hours for the replay to be available on PAOKTV. Looks like tempers flared at the end. Our B team's average age is about 20, which will put them at a disadvantage against many of the teams they'll be up against. Have to reconcile in our own minds the difference between PAOK "A" and PAOK "B" when considering the competition.

Apparently the team is considering OAKA for this 'temporary' move - of course, if we move there I guarantee you there will be many roadblocks on the way back. Every delay that could happen in building a new Toumba, will occur. I saw on inPAOK earlier that the stadium in Serres is also in consideration - I'm assuming this is Panserraikos' stadium, but I believe that holds under 10k people. Having been there a few times, I'd say that even with upgrades, I'm not sure its capacity or build quality are really appropriate for a team that will be playing in Europe... Personally, I'd rather that stadium in Volos over OAKA. And that's even with the risk of people from Larissa coming over to stir up trouble.

A shame about Varela and Crespo. What a fantastic duo they were. I would guess that if we were to sign only one of the two, it would be Varela - he is the more talented of the two and he may feel he's set down some roots (owning a home + having his son rising through the academy). Who knows. Biseswar as a Vukic-type super sub isn't a terrible idea if he's cheap, and Lucescu loves him. Only question is when his physical shortcomings become insurmountable. I would bet you Lucescu will want him again. I wonder how many changes we'll see next month. That might depend on whether or not we manage to qualify for the next stage of the Conference League...

I didn't see the match, but just watched the highlights. Looks like there were many, many chances here. Not much to add apart from how nice it is to get an away win in Athens. Beautiful second goal by Kurtic. Bizarre "basketball-style steal" (as the commentator described it) by Pashalakis towards the end there. Had he made contact with the player, would that have been a penalty?
