Particularly if Varela's game improves as the season progresses. I bet you it will. Biseswar has been very good but clearly can't play every game anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if they offer him another year at a slightly reduced salary, letting him get Vukic-like playing time. Kagawa clearly won't be renewed, so the bigger question to me is: will the team move for a new AM this winter, or wait until the summer?

Apparently the Kaftanzoglio move for our B team has been nixed due to an "unacceptable" contract being offered. Terrible (and probably purposeful) timing considering how close the start of their season is. I would imagine that this poisons the well with regard to the senior team moving there.

Zeka tore a ligament, he's probably done for the season. I don't know how relevant that will be for our game as I have no idea if he's their starter or what have you, but there you have it.

And Olympiakos plays Giannina, which is the only team to have beaten us since August 3rd. Hopefully they (Giannina) pull out a good performance.

Fine by me! Decent game. Some of our counterattacks reminded me of the Lucescu glory days. Perhaps we have a chance of regaining that.
