  1. What's this??? Where did you find this information... Is this possible?
  2. He says he is best of all time because he is from a different generation like me and doesnt know how the strikers were from the 80s or 90s so it's easy to say that it's Mitroglou because thats all our generation knows and maybe a few from the early 2000s. Anastasopoulos, Charisteas, Salpingidis, Nikolaidis, Gekas, Sideris and Mitroglou are our best strikers we've had. The best I don't know but there probably other that I have missed as well.
  3. What about Tziolis and Maniatis? What a disappointment it would be if they did get called up. I'm not nuts about Kourbelis and Galanopoulos anymore. I do believe they will run more. But I believe we need another midfielder like Tachtsidis but faster.
  4. It's usually announced a week before the match. But hopefully it will be announced in the next few days.
  5. I meant to say that if Mitroglou is on the bench continuously with Karelis scoring for his club then Karelis should start. When both on form I would mind seeing both.
  6. http://outsideoftheboot.com/2017/11/28/scout-report-panagiotis-retsos/ A good read.
  7. http://www.agonasport.com/agonasport-allnews/six-talented-young-greeks-abroad This is interesting. Mavropanos should be given a chance in the Arsenal 1st team. How can they keep him and not give him a chance. They should do it now since they are in horrible form. Sourdis looks like he has huge potential. Also Hatzidiakos is the only player that plays for his senior team on the list.
  8. I agree that it is time for him to make some noise. But I also think it's not wrong for him start even though Mitroglou is on the bench at a bigger club.
  9. Donis in my opinion is our most threatening attacker. I believe if we have these players in the field at the same time we could see a more a faster and threatening attack: Pelkas, Galanopoulos, Tachtsidis, Donis, Karelis, Fetfatzidis or Gianniotas. All of a sudden you have got players who can control the ball well and move off it aswell. If Karelis can continue scoring then I don't see why he doesn't start over Mitroglou.
  10. Many others have aswell. Greeks in Greece do that when they write their articles... I didn't know It was such a big thing to some people... Eg. Kareli, Kourbeli, Pelka, Manola....
  11. I don't think Stafylidis is that bad at LM/LW. The game against Belgium when he bombed forward with the long shot that hit the bar. His crosses are decent as well. So he is an attacking threat. With Lazaros he has improved a lot the last few seasons. He still has this selfishness about him though. He can take on a player then do something stupid after it. But his shown a bit of that and not much lately. He is playing well because he is less selfish and on target. Unlike 3 or 4 years ago. To me the LM/LW position should go to Donis. After that it could be Pelkas. Lazaros should be on the right, then Fetfatzidis.
  12. Solid line up! You can't get better than that. Maybe Pelkas in for Lazaros. It would make a huge difference with Holebas and Fetfatzidis in the team.
  13. Yeah I agree. There's something going on and I bet if there was a player like Fetfatzidis in the Greek League he would be starting in the national team no questions asked. There has never been any references as to why he does not get picked.
  14. If that happens i will be the happiest man alive. We need him back in the team.
  15. I didn't put an S because I wanted to fit all the players in the formation. Aren't you from Canada Boxou?
  16. I agree but Retsos best position is centre back. He looks more comfortable there as well. Hatzidiakos and Mavropanos are level in my opinion in terms of ability. While Retsos is better than both. We will get more out of Bakakis or Kivrakidis at right back. Stafylidis can play there also.
  17. What did Tziolis do that was so good? He can't even pass properly. All his passes are backwards or sidewards. He is very slow. The only thing he is good for is his height. Not even. Maniatis who is also on the decline would have been better to play in that position. Tachtsidis who has the same height and size is better. We all know this but Skibbe still thinks he is good enough to start.
  18. I agree with your set up Laz but I don't know if Torosidis is done for sure. I'd like to see new additions there but i think Toro will be in the team the next 2 years. Maybe as a CDM. I know there probably there not ready yet but Lamprou and Masouras could add depth on the wings. I would do the world of confidence for them if they get called up. Pelkas for sure starts behind the striker, unless Skibbe wants to give Fortounis another chance. Also we should keep in mind that Manolas, Sokratis and Mitroglou will not get called up for these friendlies along with Torosidis maybe. My line up for the first game against Switzerland at Toumba: Paschalaki Bakaki Kyriako(c) Retso Lazaro Gala Kourbe Stafy Pelka Doni. Kareli Tachtsidi, Giannioti, Fetfa (wishful thinking), Charisi, Risvani and Vasilakaki as subs. I understand where your coming from with the Tzavella comment but we should try others for these friendlies.
  19. Torosidis spoke about whether if he is in the team or not he will always be there. A true Greek. I definitely agree about the important but replaceable core. I would add Barkas in the dark horses. But the thing is I would play all of those players in the team. Maybe not altogether but they would be in the team. I don't think Retsos is irreplaceable. His best position is centre back and we know how stacked we are there. I see Androutsos as a possible addition in the near future. His breakout season will hopefully be next season. I would like to know what would people do if Tziolis gets called up again? I know I would put my fist through the wall... Lol. All we know is that these players will get called up: Karnezis, Paschalakis, Gianniotis, Galanopoulos and Limnios.
  20. Yeah I agree he shouldn't have played. Hopefully now things get more interesting with player selections. I believe having a closed club mentality only works once. We need to play inform players and in the last campaign there were plenty of players that were inform.
  21. That's right. They should of been given chances ages ago. They've should have by now 5-6 caps each. The problem was we had no friendlies and Skibbe trusted the more experienced Samaris, Tziolis and Maniatis. This time around with friendlies coming up we could be seeing the players we want to see.
  22. I saw that same article. They describe the players very well. Let's hope they live up to expectations in the coming years. Also to note players like Galanopoulos, Limnios, Androutsos, Manthatis and Gianniotis should be in and around the national team right now. Kourbelis, Pelkas, Stafylidis, Kapino and Lykogiannis should have cemented places in the team by now. Donis and Retsos are progressing faster than what these others have.
  23. We are lucky to have a player like Lazaros around. He is a winger first of all, which we lack. He is also taller than most of our wing options which is beneficial. He has got experience also. Players like Lamprou, Masouras and Limnios have talent but they need to step up when given the chance.
  24. Can he play right back aswell?
