Absolutely agree. Kourbelis has earned a start for some time now. At least a sub option. Bakasetas scoring for AEK but not for the national team is an ongoing problem with every other Greek that plays in our national team. We can surely replace Tziolis with Tachtsidis or Samaris. Same height and good in the air and obviously they are both better creatively and defensively. We have a problem I believe in our attack. All our players are not that tall for example. Donis 5ft10, Karelis 5ft8, Pelkas and Gianniotas are 5ft8 even Mantalos 5ft9. Christodoulopoulos, Manthatis and Fortounis are 6ft which is good. So we need to keep that in mind, so that we can have multiple scoring chances when a cross comes into the box and the winger coming in last second for a header. It's also good to have tall midfielders. We probably will see less of Galanopoulos and Siopis because of this.

Our best years were with Rehaggel and Santos. We havent qualified for tournament since 2014. That says a lot. Christodoulopoulos and Kone were our best players at the World Cup. Along with Sokratis and Manolas. I still think Maniatis can be useful. He runs and has more sense with the ball than Tziolis. Tzavellas is only good for free kicks and Tziolis is not good for anything anymore. I hope we go with these players in Euro 2020: Kapino, Barkas, Vlachodimos, Bakakis, Lykogiannis, Retsos, Stafylidis, Tzimikas, Sokratis (c), Manolas, Papadopoulos, Risvanis, Tachtsidis, Samaris, Kourbelis, Zeca, Fortounis, Mantalos, Androutsos, Donis, Lamprou, Mitroglou, Karelis. Others to mention: Pelkas, Gianniotas, Bakasetas, Katranis, Anestis, Gianniotis, Giannoulis (leftback, looks promising), Koutris, Diamantakos, Limnios, Manthatis, Galanopoulos, Chatzigiovannis, Vellios, Mavrias, Siopis. I'm a fan of Barkas and Tzimikas. I don't know if they will be in the squad. Probably Anestis and Koutris will. Risvanis can back up our 3 best centrebacks. I think Androutsos will make a name for himself soon. I also believe we have depth at leftback. If I were coach I would have Manthatis looked after. I would make sure he get playing time for his club. I believe he can be useful on the wing and replace Christodoulopoulos. Lamprou and Limnios was hard to decide with so I chose height.

I think Siopis is more of an 8 than a 6. Samaris has been playing as a 6 for 3 years now. I also do believe though he should be an 8. Zeca and Kourbelis are a 6 for sure. Tachtsidis should be behind the 10. He is not an attacking midfielder.

Yes I agree with playing the best players in each position. Kone can be a dangerous player when he wants to be. Mantalos is injured now so Kone can get the chances now. What I was saying was can Kone be the same player he was leading up to the world in 2014 and the World Cup itself. If he can then welcome back. If he has regressed and it shows then we have better options. As you said we need the best players possible.

I would love to have Kone back. But where would you play him? What can he do as 30-31 year old? Be provided experience for sure and if he plays regularly from now on and gets in form then why not call him up. Him alongside Lazaros, Karnezis, Torosidis and Sokratis can be the experienced players of our team.

Well that is sabotaging us. What do you think needs to be done then to not have these players in the team. If Siopis and Kourbelis move to bigger clubs outside of Greece then maybe we won't have to those players called up.

Who else is creative? We only have 2 attacking midfielders and we lack wingers. Why can Tziolis get called? Surely because we lack midfielders. I know it's hard to get over this player because it's frustrating that he doesn't get picked, but we all know he should be in the team. We really haven't got much depth. The only depth we have are centre backs and maybe keepers but that's it.

Does anyone know how he is doing? What a player he used to be. So creative with excellent passing.

I've heard in a video somewhere that he would play Zeca as the number 6 and Fortounis and Mantalos just in front of him. That's what I heard in a video. Not a bad idea.

9 months? That's is very far away, but I think the USA will be hosting a tournament at the end of this season.

We need creative midfielders and wingers. Donis by far is the best option on the wing. We will need fresh players in midfield, what harm will it do if we play Siopis and Kourbelis/Zeca. Samaris has proven to unreliable in defence and provides nothing in attack. Tachtsidis doesn't run enough, although has good vision but is inconsistent. I won't even talk about the rest as we all know who they are.

The likes of Tziolis and Tzavellas can leave with the likes of Kourbelis, Koutris, Siopis and Pelkas get more chances. Aswell as Gianniotis who has been in good form. Some u21s can have chances like Androutsos and Lamprou. Meanwhile players who are a bit older can perform like Lykogiannis. Fetfatzidis and Holebas should be in the team but we all know that won't happen with Skibbe in charge. We should call up players like Bakakis and Kivrakidis who have are in form and playing often. We can also see if they can replace Torosidis later on.

Yes we can all see the difference with Gianniotas on the wing. The way he gets past defenders with his skill and speed. Mantalos or Stafylidis can not do it like him. He is a natural winger. He does good to the team when he plays.

The thing is we have failed to make two tournaments. Our defence has proven to be very solid. Mitroglou is in form. Our problem are our midfielders and wingers. We are not creating chances from both positions. We need change here. Tziolis, Maniatis, Tachtsidis and Samaris have proven nothing and we have not qualified for 2 tournaments. The wingers we play are either out of position or have been told to defend. Gianniotas has proven to be a difference maker in this team. Donis is the real deal. Pelkas and Lazaros are options. We can't be playing Mantalos, Zeca and Stafylidis there anymore. Them 3 need to play their natural positions.

I agree also. I just watched the replay of the 2004 euro. The thing that came to mind was that they ALL fought for each other and they were all working very hard. They were running and running, they all had a strong work ethic and very passionate. I look at players we have now, and they do not have no where near as much work ethic as they did. The only players currently who do have a strong work ethic is Zeca, Sokratis, Manolas, Kyriakos and Stafylidis. They are all defenders. We can add Kourbelis, Siopis, Galanopoulos, Gianniotas and Donis to that list. We need players that don't stop running. Tziolis, Tzavellas, Tachtsidis, Fortounis and Mitroglou are players that don't run enough. Maniatis runs but is starting to decline just like Torosidis.

I definitely think we need a shake up in the midfield. Also we need to play actual wingers. Mantalos can play behind Mitroglou/Karelis, we should definitely try Fortounis on the wing next time. Him on the right and Donis on the left.

I think Donis is the player that does that now.

I am actually not sure if Kourbelis will do that much of a better job than the like of Samaris, Tachtsidis and Tziolis. I want new blood in this team especially in the midfield. I do believe though Siopis is a good midfielder. Fast, aggressive, hardworking and has stamina. He is like a pit bull. The only problem is his height.

Apparently Arsenal are scouting this Emmanoulidis kid.

He is sabotaging our chances to become a decent competitive team. Thankfully our defence keeps us competitive. If we defended the the way we attack we wouldnt even be in the playoffs. We would be dead last with 1 or 2 goals. Our attack needs a massive shake up. We need two central midfielders that are continously running/moving. We need our wingers or wingbacks to have more freedom position wise in attack. Skibbe has said he will change things. I'd like to see him keep his word.

I agree alefantos in that video said why doesn't Kourbelis play in Tziolis spot. So.ethi g we have all been saying. Most of the stuff he says makes sense. I didn't realise he put Torosidis as striker in the last 10 minutes. Holebas should have not retired. Tziolis and Tzavellas should be the ones retiring. It's time to give Fetfatzidis a call up. He is our best technical player we have got. Also Ninis. Also this team can do with a lot of technical and fast players. Players that come to mind are: Fetfatzidis, Ninis, Holebas, Kourbelis, Siopis, Gianniotas, Pelkas, Zeca, Donis, Stafylidis. If we have these players playing in the team, we will see a big difference. Most them are hardworking and talented with the ball. Bakasetas and Diamantakos have horrible first touches along with Tziolis, Tzavellas and Maniatis. They all need to be out. Fortounis and Mantalos are our best attacking midfielders currently but even they have trouble with their first touch sometimes. I believe if we had Manolas and Donis playing in the first game it would have not been 4-1. More like 2-2.
