  1. That’s what I have been thinking as well. He has played on the wing too. What do you think is his best position?
  2. I don’t think he is the same player like he was back in 2013 where he was scoring goals for fun. Anything he touched turned into a goal in Bothell the league and champions league. His overall game is not that good, he destroyed some of our attacks in the nt with his poor touches and sloppiness in general. I don’t think he i crap, he has an eye for goal at times but his distribution and touches are not up to standard sometimes and that’s why I think playing him with Donis upfront in a 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 would benefit him and Donis. He shouldn’t play up by himself anymore. I believe he should have someone next to him. This would mean he would have less pressure on him because Donis is next to him and is fast. Mitroglou can hold up the ball well and allow others to make runs or give him support.
  3. I think he is right about Mitroglou. I think need to start playing 2 upfront. I’ve had enough of Mitroglou slowness and sloppy touches at times. I say let’s play Donis upfront and keep feeding him through balls because he is very fast and 9/10 he will get to them and strike.
  4. I hope this is true. Just hearing it makes me feel good. I don’t think Tsimikas should be our main left back. Don’t forget we also have Stafylidis, Lykogiannis and Koutris who has yet to be capped. I felt that Lykogiannis is very safe defensively l and that’s what you want there. Stafylidis I feel bombs forward well and has an excellent shot. I also wouldn’t want a left footed full back playing right back. Which also means we need to find a replacement for Torosidis.
  5. Do you have a link to this?... I hope this is true.
  6. That’s good to see. Some of the Greek players at Panathinaikos. Haven’t got the correct ratings. For example Emmanoulidis, Bouzouks and Chatzigiovanis need upgrades.
  7. I actually thought we were going to have a more attacking style in the team and I was optimistic that we were going to score more goals but how wrong was i. We don’t have a true leader in the team even though I’d like it to be Sokratis. I think he has too much responsibility now since that Karagounis has left. We need a real leader in the midfield because our defence has always been strong. Karagounis was no nonsense and was bleeding for the team. I think in due time Kourbelis will be our ‘Katsouranis’ and Galanopoulos would be our Karagounis.
  8. Yeah true. We need a real authority figure that’s for sure. Let’s see how Angelos does with the call ups first...
  9. I agree with @AchillesHeel. You don’t lose to the Faroes twice. No matter which coach it is. I believe it was on the players mostly, i saw no one step up back then and everyone looked like they had no motivation. That’s where the coach comes in.
  10. Does anyone believe some of the Panathinaikos players should be given a chance in the national team. They are in a roll and have a fighting spirit. They also know how to win and are young. I wouldn’t mind taking out Bakasetas, Tziolis and Tzavellas our and putting maybe Chatzigiovanis, Bouzoukis and Chatzitheodoridis in their place.
  11. Is Vlachodimos paper work done? Is he ready to go?
  12. Are you saying that because you know it for a fact or that’s what your hoping?
  13. The first thing I thought of about Anastasiadis was his age. Like Bananas said we don’t know if he still has it. Hopefully Tzavellas and Tziolis are done now in the national team.
  14. I agree with what you are saying apart from the Holebas comment. I don’t know if a soon to be 35 year old should be in our plans. I do think we need to move on with Holebas as I think he wouldn’t been interested to return either. We have talented enough players to make this team, we just need a coach who can get the best out of our players and someone who genuinely cares for this team.
  15. The EPO should be doing what's best for the team not for their pockets.
  16. The EPO should a appoint a new long term coach now and use the last two matches as experimental games to see who he has got to work with and discover our best players possible. Then he should be ready for the Euro qualifications. That's how I'd do it. I'm so tired of the wrong players being picked. This is my big issue with the national team for a long time.
  17. Then what do we say about Manolas and Sokratis. They've probably had to work even harder by themselves to get where they are. I think Manolas edges Sokratis for talent but are both solid defenders. A player like Retsos is doing good for himself as he is only 19 and progressing ina better environment and league. These players probably different have the best support as other players from better football countries.
  18. I any new coach comes in and still calls up Tziolis and Tzavellas I would probably not watch the national team anymore. There is no point. Unless we get a proper coach who has the freedom to select who he wants, than I'll continue watching.
  19. I dont know why we are not getting what your saying. I don't understand why Greece aren't doing the things that they are suppose to do in order progress as a footballing nation. Things need to change and fast.
  20. Ranieri never played Tziolis or Tzavellas. Markarian played Tziolis I think.
  21. I just had a thought. Does it even matter who the next coach will be? The reason I am saying this is because the new coach will probably be controlled by the EPO anyways, just like Skibbe. Am I wrong?
  22. I don't think it was done on purpose. Pelkas though he was in a good position to score but didn't. He has scored like that though. The one against Estonia Fortounis had no option but to shoot. He shouldn't of risked playing Pelkas because he Pelkas was a bit too behind. Out of both decisions Pelkas was worse.
  23. I just want a new coach that doesn't call up has beens like Tzavellas and Tziolis. If we get that than I'm happy.
