Of course we are behind, we ended up in the ass end of the world lol, people in Greece think we are stuck in a 1970s time warp, we get sucked into these rubbish intra city rivalries like it means anything. Who gives a stuff how many people turned up to an airport or a training session, only we would bicker over something so trivial.
-
Im from melbourne and i tend to be the opposite. I like to back up and protect my fellow greeks from sydney, adelaide, ny, toronto etc. We are ALL the SAME and these clowns have to make it all about themselves. Maybe this is cos im getting older but they come across as very childish. Its not about being better, its about being a united greek diaspora. A lot of what they say reeks of greek cafe talk in melb and chest beating about how we are better than everyone. Its a joke. They crossed the line when they bagged out fellow greeks. And then crossed it further with that ridiculous post match rant on the team. I wanted to post something on their page but thought better of it cos they would just end up attacking me.

The hellas fan club of melbourne are arrogant and at times an awful look for the greek community. No need for them to bag out sydney greeks last week. None of them went to the airport either and at most 100 people were at the training session and the majority would not have been from them. The melbourne wing of hfc needs to pull its head in and stop living off that one night 10 years ago, a night that easily would have been replicated in sydney and other parts of the world. They just come across as show offs. Word on the street is tonights match will struggle to beat sydneys crowd. But greeks from the rest of the country wont ridicule. Hope the march goes well and doesnt descend into chaos. As for the aussie greeks calling up radio stations...stuff them and their self hating ways. Whilst im at it fcuk the ffa who tried to rort our community with absurd ticket prices..not the pay day these malakes were hoping for.

I couldnt be bothered sticking around 90 minutes for the training session last night and went home after the npl match..people waited around for 20 minutes and said stuff it, weather was crap as well. Its true about the brand and the very very long wait we will have to see this team again. The ffa had delusions of sell out crowds based on what happened 10 years ago. The reality is back in 2006 the ethniki would have packed out any stadium in australia, usa, canada and even germany. Those days are dead.for the next couple of decades this team wont venture out of europe that much aside from the odd trip across the atlantic to play in the states. Forget about them coming to the other side of the world any time soon..provided we dont host a world cup of course. I just hope they give us 1 goal to cheer tomorrow night so we can at least have a memory to hold onto...even if it means we lose 2-1

Hellas Vs Socceroos In June. Two Matches Hopefully.
Greekoz replied to ausgreek's topic in Greek National Teams
Yeh don't see the point in such negativity, the only reason I'm not going is cos I went 10 years ago, saw my heroes in the flesh and put it down as a once in a lifetime thing, I'll see the current group train on Sunday which is something at least, plus it's a great opportunity for Sydney Greeks who missed out last time. Make the most of this cos you may not see the Greek nt here again for decades. -

Well it's just the 1 session, but it's all kinda rushed. -

Dissapointing to read the hfc Melbourne ultras page on FB bagging out Sydney Greeks for not many people turning up to the airport, sort of arrogance is a turn of, it's not a competition. -

For those in melbourne the greek nt will be training at lakeside stadium straight after the south melbourne v northcote match on sunday..should be a good day and now probably our biggest crowd of the season. The npl match starts at 4 so im guessing the training session will be around 6.30pm -

Spot on, they thought because they struck gold 10 years ago they could do it again, clearly the ffa failed to realise that the mcg match was a once in a lifetime event with most of the euro 04 team coming out with otto combined with Australia qualifying for its first World Cup in decades. People have caught onto these friendly matches for exactly what they are and that's meaningless, sure people will love to go if reasonable priced, but the prices are in insult. The promoters who bought out olympiakos to Melbourne were similarly delusional, expecting 40k yet only managed to sell 8k tickets, they gave away a further 8k freebies the week before the game and the match was played in an empty stadium. I'd only pay big bucks to watch a major tournament match to be honest. -
We beat nth Geelong 2-0 tonight in the cup and have advanced to the final qualifier against bentleigh away, will be a massive game and they're estimating a crowd of around 3,000 for that which is about as much as they can squeeze in, unfortunately like Olympic faced against the cros we are up against a superior opponent and more then likely will bow it, dunno what it's like in Sydney but all anyone cares about here is the cup. Think it's cos bentleigh, Hume and Heidelberg have advanced far in the past few years. Most treat the league like it's irrelevant,

I'm going to think 60k in Sydney and 45k in Melbourne, apparently ticket sales have been slow and the ffa have been forced to slash prices in an attempt to fill the stadiums, either way it won't be the financial windfall the federation was hoping. -
Ah and the icing on the cake if we win our cup game on Wednesday we will face bentleigh away in the last ffa cup qualifier, absolutely no chance of winning at there ground.
-
Heidelberg get revenge for round 1 by humiliating south 5-0...and it should have been more. 2nd time we have been hit for a huge score line this year, no idea how we are top, will need to dip into the transfer market.
-
Beat Avondale 0-2 last Friday night at Knights stadium. Backed it up tonight by smashing the Knights at the same venue 2-5 to take out the old school NSL derby. 6 points clear of bentleigh in 2nd and 9 points clear of Heidelberg in 3rd...these 2 teams meet on Sunday.

Can confirm one of the attacking victory fans is the grandson of a Hellas ground Marshall and life member who was actually trying to stop the mayhem. The son of a Neos kosmos sports journalist has also been sighted amongst the invading victory hooligans. Very sad to see how many of these Greek kids are ruining their lives with this victory cult. At the end of the day the Greek media helpee create this monster with all the pro victory s%$#! over the past decade.

Channel 9 news to show it at 6pm..all the promos blame victory.

http://www.mfootball.com.au/audio-the-brawl-and-lujics-goal-at-the-lakeside/ Everyone listen to this, this was the live commentary as it all unfolded and describes it exactly as it occured.
-
The police came 20 minutes later by then all the victory fans had left, when they were crossing the field to brawl the security crapped themselves and did nothing. cctv all over the ground and outside so everything has been captured, if the ffv are consistent they should be looking at 10 points deductions and a huge fine, from where I was looking these victory kids looked like they were on drugs, the even sadder part a few of them were old as well like in their 40s.

I've never hated victory because I've never had genuine contact with them, after tonight I hate them about as much as the skop clubs. The first time we played them in 2007 they hit our player in the head with a flare and chucked half a dozen flares at our goalkeeper, being still young and on the other side of the field I let that go, after tonight though witnessing them come to our grandstand and try attack us with kids, the elderly and families nearby all I can say is they make me sick, I dare one ex hellatzi that follows this mob now to look me in the eye now and justify such a disgusting act of treachery. I wish nothing but harm upon this club. I've been a hellas fan since I was 5 years old, I've never felt more passionate about this club then what I did tonight, it made me realise that they can go on and on about ethnics and trouble but at the end of the day we are real supporters, we were there tonight to watch our team, they were there to cause chaos, that franchise can get F***ed they will never have the heart and soul of clubs likes ours. And you know what I dont give a toss if we never play in the top flight again, who needs that s%$#!, just a bunch of over excited punk teenagers and adults who wish they could relive their youth, and all the 3rd generation Greek kids that worship that pathetic franchise can suck me off, end rant,

- Melbourne victory fans leave grandstand, run across the running track and jump into the Hellas grandstand to attack our supporters. - they tried to steal our banners, chucked bottles at us some of which were actually chemicals. - they stole the corner flag and chucked it like a javelin, this is all during 2nd half. - punches were thrown as we were trying to defend our end, lots of families and kids near by who would never have expected these animals to actually invade the arena to come into our stand. - after they did this these fools left the ground and decided to smash cars that had south stickers on them. If this is the family friendly A league people go on about then I'm pretty happy staying where I am with my club. We won the game 1-0...we scored not long after these incidents and the place erupted, we literally should have won by 7-8 goals, hit the post 4 times! As one person put it F*** victory and every Greek in Melbourne who supports them! Crowd was around 2,000 maybe a bit more, victory fans totalled about 250...by the end maybe only 30 were left inside the ground, the rest were hooligans. I hope they get the book thrown at them but I'm sure they will get away with this? Filth club.

Seating arrangements for tomorrow are Hellas fans to enter stadium through the traditional gate 2 entrance into the main grandstand, victory fans will enter through gate 1 which leads to the new grandstand on the opposite end, expecting a big crowd tomorrow and with rumoured plans that victory fans are planning trouble the club has decided to throw them on the other side, the opposite end of the ground has only been opened once before and that was the friendly against Sydney Olympic 5 years ago that opened the stadium. Hope we smash these pricks.

Altona and Preston fans hanging eachother all over social media lol. It was definitely Preston fans that came for trouble, Altona is mostly supported by oldies who use to be Footscray just fans, pro yugo club that never causes trouble with Greeks, Preston on the other hand are mostly confused lunatics from florina who use to support Heidelberg in the 70s and 80s...the younger generations are lunatics.
-
Crazy scenes in tonights cup tie between Hellas and Altona, we won 3-0 but the skops caused trouble, the match was delayed 20 minutes because they couldn't get the lights on, we had a very weakened lineup and almost paid the price as we were riding our luck, 65th minute we win a penalty and lights go out again! In amongst the chaos the skops launch a flare at our supporters and hit one of our female fans in the head( hope she's ok), within a few minutes cop cars had arrived at the ground to remove the trouble making skops who by all reports were Preston fans not Altona, after almost 30 minutes match resumed, we scored the penalty, they pushed us but we got a 2nd on the counter and finally wrapped it up in injury time with a 3rd. Pretty big crowd but these skops are animals. We have another high risk game against victory youth on Sunday at home, now that a league commitments are done they are apparently planning on coming down to run a muck.

4-1 win over oakleigh today, dominated them and should have won by more, 3 points clear at the top.
-
2-1 win over bentleigh in the top of the table clash, we wre now 3 points clear in top, our goalkeeper the hero saving 2 late penalties, incredible scenes.
