  1. Also of note, I believe the transfer fee paid for Prijovic is the highest ever for a player by PAOK.
  2. He was such a crazy boy. A shame he had such a temper. If he had kept his crazy behaviour in check I think he could've been the GK for PAOK for a few seasons.
  3. I'm keen to see Prijovic on the pitch. Any idea of when he'll be available to play ? Hopefully he can be a target man that brings other players into the game, and a threat in the air, something that we've lacked for a long time.
  4. It's officially ... official. We have purchased a striker for the first in, I can't remember. Has signed a 4.5 year contract. It will be interesting to see how he performs. http://www.paokfc.gr/en/news/20170116-ston-paok-o-prijovic-en/
  5. Ouzounidis did a good job at Panionios and had them playing smart practical football. I think it's way too early to judge him, given that he's only been there a month, has no budget and a squad that has lots of issues. He doesn't even have a core of players to work with from what I can tell. If anyone thinks that Ouzounidis was going to come and transform PAO into something special in a month, well, in that case Ouzounidis should probably be coaching Barcelona or Real Madrid. Give Ouzounidis the same budget as Olympiakos for 3 years and if the team is playing like it is now, then yeah, he's not a good coach. I bet you if he was hired by Olympiakos earlier this season he would easily have won the league. And then what ? All of a sudden he's a better coach because he got a ready made team and a budget 10x what he's used to ?
  6. Ego is part of it, no doubt. But if someone posts say an old song from back in the day in the 70's, 80's, 90's music thread and I'm like :wow: I loved that song, I want to be able to click that button and let that user know that I was the one that clicked it. Now, I would have to create a separate post to let them know. No big deal really, but the "loss" of information ... just bothers me. Might have something to do with working in IT, ha ha.
  7. It's just a way of conveying more information. It can be used for good or ill. The example you cite is correct and we'd see it on the old gs forum as well as this forum before the feature was disabled, but one shouldn't remove a feature just because it's used for ill purposes only some of the time. If it's removed for other reason then fair enough, but if it's solely for the reason you mention, I think it's overkill.
  8. Well from a legal perspective UEFA will argue that any player with EU citizenship should be free to play where he wishes. But you always have special cases, it's never a simple blanket rule so if they argue that they are just being cute. The situation is so out of hand now that even "small" teams in Greece have many non Greek players and if it went back to the old system it would take time for clubs to adjust. You'd probably have to do it over a 3 to 5 year period now. This is not about I want to see more Greek players playing in the GSL, although that would be a side effect. It's about trying to stop the spiraling concentration of money. To be fair, I think there is no more concentration to be had. I think the big clubs are already eating most of the pie. Their bellies are full.
  9. Meli must have laid down a huge bet on PAO to win. ;)
  10. The scary thing is I think if he wanted to go for it, he'd be a chance. I'm sure he's happy with the status quo. In the meantime, enjoy some memories. This was the quickest "fight" for many years. Fight begins at ~1:13. Check out the avalanche at ~1:28 !!! Good times.
  11. Buried under an igloo somewhere in Toronto.
  12. Every time I see that stomach of Marinakis I think of King Kong Bundy. Please stop posting pics of him in the PAOK forums if possible.
  13. Aye, I remember that. As to what the scouters actually do day to day and how accountable they are, we can only speculate. Speaking of which, has Lino found us anything in South America ? ;)
  14. Where they found him I have no idea! His stats are nothing to look at so this one is a tricky one to judge until we see him on the pitch ... assuming the media articles are true. Then again, Rodrigues stats were nothing special when we got him from Elche (2 goals and 1 assist) so this is where it's tricky to judge a player that's come from a stronger league. Time will tell. We can only but wait and see.
  15. His stats are decent, as they should be considering he's playing at lower levels. Realistically these are the sorts of players that will come to PAOK. I'm calling it now, he'll be the Greek Ibrahimovic.
  16. Ha ha, we'll see. If he's got any ability at least he'll have a half decent team around him to show it.
  17. Any idea on his wages ?
  18. If it's true Ansarifad is going to Oympiakos I'm relieved as I was always a bit bemused by this potential transfer. And the wages! 700K really ? For half the price yeah maybe we could take the risk, but at those wages I'm just not convinced. Let's see what happens and if this guy actually tears it up at Oympiakos or whether he just becomes another player that is loaned out and never heard from again. The search for a striker continues. Marinakis outdoes Savvidis again.
  19. I thought the Ansarifad transfer was dead, seeing as PAOK gave a 24 hour deadline to sign, what was it, 3 or 4 days ago ? Apparently it's still a possibility https://inpaok.com/333819/κρίσιμη-μέρα-για-ανσαριφάρντ/ but I hope it's just media crapola. I'm not crazy about this transfer, especially given the ridiculous wage figures being thrown around.
  20. It'd be good for the NT as well as he needs to be playing. I know of lot of people don't want him in the NT but he's definitely worthy of being in the squad. Maybe not a starter but he's good to have for depth. He's got that tsabouka as we all know and I'm sure if he signs for you guys he'll have a blinder against PAOK. I actually wish the trouble between him and Ivic hadn't happened as he was good for depth/rotation but it is what it is now. I can't see him signing for PAO either as they are having trouble paying their players and there was talk of Alafouzos decreasing the budget. That's now, what about in the near future ? If Tzavellas has to choose between the two I can't see how he'd prefer PAO. The only issue of course will be his wages ...
  21. I think you guys should take him and it would be a good move. End of the day he's a solid player, the "MVP" for PAOK last season. He had a great season. There is too much bad blood now with him at PAOK not just with Ivic but with previous managers as well, but at AEK he may realize it's time to start fresh and stop the crap. Besides, Meli is a lot scarier than Ivan and I can picture Meli stubbing out that cigar of his right into Tzavellas cute little head, so there is that as well to keep him in line.
  22. Charisis started so well last season and I was hoping for more and better this season. The kid needs game time so a loan move could be the best thing for everyone.
  23. @Lazarus it's all right. I got my 15 minutes of fame. @Nikitas congratulations. Well deserved. A more suitable person for those threads there is not!
  24. All in all a very good result. Good to see Kace get a run too. Charisis should be concerned.
