    USA in basketball is racist against foreigners and whites. Theres the stereotype that blacks are just better at basketball (btw how many have a WC gold medal? :D ) Im not kidding, and it doesnt surprise me at all that so many european talents just get shoved on the bench without a fair chance, mostly because coaches dont care to recognize their past experience too (if its not US highschool or college, then they wont bother looking at it, no matter how distinguished)

    Ilyasova I remember being the star of Turkey in the WC....i cant beleive hes not getting played. Give the guy a full chance hes got huge potential.....just like Kutluay did but they sent him home :tdown: ..... but maybe with patience and great luck you can force your way on the team like Stojakovic, Gasol, Nowitzki and Ginobili

    Spanoulis is also stuggling to get much time although all he does when he plays is impress... he got a few minutes last game and got 5 poitns and one of the great plays of the game :gr: :nw:

    I saw the goals as well and he could esily have had 4 or 5. At least he is finding himself in these positions.

    Charisteas can only dream of finishing the way Samara did on the weekend.

    agreed, however Achristeas will likely start over him again.......its ridiuclous...Samaras was lethal....he had other great chances in the game too...on the highlights he looked quite easily several times superior than any other Greek striker...

    i just hope we dont get too cocky.....the commentators, press are acting like complete jackasses as if we already won.......i ###### hate that...Spain is a hard game. Were not going to walk through. Also those Ert commentators - im so glad i didnt see the game live.... i would be cursing them out so badly...were up by 6 with 40 seconds (thats 2 simple 3 pointers) and they are talking crap Greece has won, its over...then we miss free throws and get dangerously close to another 3....

    anywyas ill be off to go watch ti........DE STAMATW NA TRAGOYDW POTE!!!

    definitly not impossible

    remember guys - USA has not had to play any big teams yet.

    Germany is, was CRAP and USA struggled in the begining.

    Slovenia is decent...as well as Aussie....

    but the rest?

    We have taken on Lithuania, Turkey, France now so were capable. Were also in very good form. Starting well agains the USA will be huge...we have to upset their mentality...

    also if you live in australia- GET TO JAPAN NOW!!!! OLOI MESA!!! :gr:

    When you say Russian, do you mean Ilyasova? If so, I would like to ask you why you label him like that and disparage without having knowledge about his background. Ersan Ilyasova is hailed from Ozbekistan but as many of you know very well, Turks have biological roots with Central Asia and still, many Turkish minorities live over there. Similarly, many late immigrants from Central Asia live in particular cities in Turkey. He was born in a city of Turkey and raised in Turkey. Would you feel good if someone call Sofo African, not a Greek? (although Ersan is biologically %100 Turk). So, please let's be more insightful about our comments. I am really glad to be in this forum in spite of some unfair comments. But, this happens in all forums. Some of you might say "What the hell are you doing in this forum?". My answer:

    I agree. Ilyasova is a Turk- these places are all Turkic tribes.

    Sofo is not full-african or immigrant. He is Greek-African. His dad is Greek (white) mom Cameroon (black)....

    Germany blows so badly....it really is just Nowitski. They are so overated...The only reason they got to the finals is because they played awful teams...

    Speaking of easy draws....USA???? They havent played one real opponent yet....strongest was Slovenia..the rest of the teams they played are total garbage..

    USA will destroy them complelty. And the American press will rant about it because they think Germany is a strong team... :LOL:

    which brings me to the question....what is the word for that haircut in greek? i know barbouni is mullet in english (its probabl one of the best fish in the world :D ) barbouni is only the literal translation...but barbouni is only fish in greek... unless they took the mullet word/translation from america which i dont think happened....

    anyways good luck to Fanis, he had interest from the bundesliga at Kallithea, i hope he starts and tops the charts :gr:

    WOW what an omadara!!! we came down from 23 - 7 to beat QATAR

    we really are one of the worst of teams and shooting in the tournament. We were in the friendlies too that we won, very poor at shooting but strong elsewhere... Among the best in defense/teamplay, but shooting we are way down there. These guys cannot shoot at all its a huge weakness...

    Turkey just beat Lithuania, both teams looked much stronger...

    What about ErtSat? its Free to air it might at least have recorded games....

    You are in London (Im so sorry) right? There are some Greek places there im sure one of them has satelite - NOVA and Nova gets ALL greek channels....the games will definitly be on there.

    As for the "Sports" Illustrated

    they are complete idiots. The DUMBEST in the industry. And they are so godamn full of themselves!!!!! :angry: They know absolutley NOTHING about the teams they are playing --- and its their job to analyze and write about them!!!! I will bet you great money they have NEVER seen a Euroleague game, or bother paying attention to the leagues that a lot of the NBA's top players are coming from :whistle:

    Why did they pick these teams? Because they have a player that they know of in the NBA that they think will make the huge difference. Except in the real baskeball, one player has a much more difficult time taking control of the game for himself.

    Proof of this is mentioning Germany and Brazil in the top 8...Germany got a silver in Belgrad but come on guys.....they were crap :LOL: Brazil has a good NBA guy but the rest of the players are just average...

    Its not that he doesnt like Greece, Italy too should be in the top 8....afterall they did get a silver in the last world competition the OLYMPIC GAMES (which thanks to poutanopaido magazines like SI, Washington Post , tried their VERY HARDEST to scare away people from the Olympic games because of "terrorism" :LOL: sure, terrorism. But everybody that summer stayed in NYC, DC .....2 biggest targets in the enitre planet.. But Athens who has never had problem with islamic fundamentalists since 1821 :gr: is a giant threat.

    Germany over Greece- who absoltley humiliated Germany in the final (the game was just a formality, there was no doubt Greece would lose even) and demolished them weeks ago...like we are talking 40 mins of scheissersex all over Dirk Nowitzki :LOL:!

    They mentioned Germany got the silver.....who the hell got the GOLD THEN??? I am not boasting, claiming Greece is such an amazing team but we have gone and gotten a ton of results and I think we definitly warrant top 8 especailly over teams we owned..

    and again over Italy who has some of europes top shooters and proved themselves in 04....they have always been a strong team, like Greece. Again France/Germany over them.....no way. Italy has always been a team I dont look forward to playing in basket...

    Beleive it or not the country is not all morons like these paliomalakes. The newer generations are becoming smarter and more open people... But on the subject of basket im pretty sure they are all full of subjective crap and theres not much hope. I am an American as well as Greek and I will cheer even for Turkey over the USA (IN BASKET ONLY) . If youve ever been surrounded by that awful arrogant "know it alls" who think there is no player worthy outside of American soil iim sure you could understand.

    NBA IS NOT BASKETBALL IN THE EXACT SAME RESPECT HOLLYWOOD IS NOT A REAL CINEMA. It is not taken seriously, it is made to showcase fancy traits and effects and make money.
