:nw: well said. You know, 1 gay still hasen't actually said what is beautiful about kokkalaiskaki. It's 4 red walls with 1 tier of red seats. It's the plainest looking stadium that has been built in the last 25 years. I defy 1 gavro to prove me wrong.
my fav part at the olympic games was hearing the same thing from foreigners about the stadium behind me and also in the tram- for a new stadium its not very impressive.... so its not just my green eyes!!!
-
i think the one in the picture is ugly. Screw modern styles- i think it would be great to see a newer stadium that has hints/traces of apostolos nikolaidis style......one that keeps the fans VERY close to the field...
-
i think we should say screw goudi screw elliniko, and fix up leoforos add another 10.000 seats and some improvements..........face it well never fill 50.000 seats regularly even for Champions League thats really pushing it and unrealistic. we need to keep a nice compact stadium with another 10.000 so we can keep the atmosphere hot and win most of our games....
-
yes. sorry man this topic has nothing to do kokkaliskaki.if it wasn't for Olympiakos building Karaiskaki would Pao be building a stadio??
-
they can fill it only in derbies and really big champions league games.....man we break 11.000 for league games why would we get anywhere near that much in a new stadium.....it would be empty the whole time and wed lose our atmosphere advandage......30.000 is just right.....

pappou i have been in many metros in europe, and in terms of moving people efficiently on time and being costworthy and being clean/ presentable it is easily the best. For the area it does serve it does very well. Yes there is yet to be some areas covered I know this because i take the bus to Agios Dimitrios (like you said) to get to the metro. I also aware that Ellniko has no stop but if there is a stadium they will surely expand down there ( that area is supposedly in planning anyways)
-
first off pappou im not as old as you.... i dont remember OAKA very well to be honest i never went to a PAO game there - one of the reasons ironically for the same reason you complain about the stadium being in elliniko- too far (but this was before the metro system, i was also very young)
i dont think people will refuse to go for anyreason. we have the best metro in europe and its very cheap and you dont deal with bullshit like parking. so what 20 mins more to get there.....i still dont see the big problem. an extra 20 mins isnt enough to cure the sickness for PAO we have.......
-
3000 is ridiculous man.....you really think that the fans wont travel an extra 20 minutes by metro to see a game??? dont forget Glyfada and Argiroupoli have big fan clubs too.....we travel all the way to Athens for games its not that big a deal......
-
50thousand isnt realistic.....we dont fill Leoforos every game why would we fill 50 thousand?
yes the traditional fan base is deep in athens but dont forget the fanbase is way expanded now so it doesnt matter where the stadium is if its outside...if it means a full green complex in elliniko its better...but i do like the idea of the stadium being in the city and having the bars, kafenio and grills outside....it wouldnt be the same without them.....
-
yes but come on the elliniko is basically athens.......municipality technicality its close enough its greater athens area its not completly something different....
-
no its 80 for sure........its a huge stadium....and even reals stadium is poorly positioned and still sells out.....theyre thousands of miles from their biggest fanbase in Japan
70000
its 80.000Goudi or Votaniko for me.......
look Real Madrid... they have 100,000 stadium in Madrid....
elliniko has plenty of space and it would be really great to have a Panatha complex so that basket, volley everything has one location...
-
its 80.000Goudi or Votaniko for me.......
look Real Madrid... they have 100,000 stadium in Madrid....
-
guys the elliniko area is practically athens.... who cares if its outside the borders of dimos athinas??? many teams have there stadiums outside the city limits its not unusual...
-
i dont really mind elliniko as long as there is a metro built there and in glyfada........no way im taking thats stupid ###### tram!!!!

i know little about turkish basket, but how is it that big clubs like besiktas/fener/galata dont really have that great basketball teams? i see fener is in 2nd, but i only hear of ulker and Efes Pilsen (nice beer) in europe...with fanbases so big howcome they dont dominate like in football?
-
where in the city is Ali Sami yen and Saracoglu?
-
wow.........i can imagine it....it must be the size of panionios stadium in nea smyrniif this stadium is full every 10th citizen of liechtenstein is in there. Imagine how big it is!!!
as for my additions::
OAKA (Stivos)
Vicente Calderon - Atletico de Madrid vs Real Zaragoza
Santiago Bernabeu - Real Madrid - Real Sociedad (last year not the one with the terrorist threat)
Karaiskaki.... - Italy vs Paraguay Olympics

please explain the parking thing.... why does the UEFA CL care about parking? if its for officials/teams yes you are right, if its for fans thats an Athens problem. Most People know not to take there car to the stadium, and if they dont, they learn from the first time. Really would you park your car in leoforos alexandras? what if some episodio happens with the cops and the fans? do you want to wait an hour to get out? does dimos athinas really want such traffic in the streets after a match? no, the easy solution is a bus or metro, park it near your station then pay the .45 E and go to the ghpedo.
gia mixanakia its ok, yes, a car no...
-
parking???? really who cares about parking, it is an ATHENS club, if you didnt expect trouble parking, you arent local for sure. There is the metro which is fine for everybody. Lighting i agree, it needs updates, the inside facilities ive never seen, but how uefa can bitch about "adequate official facilities"???? heres what i think rational people call adequate: a room (with roof and door, light), a shower, a locker. i doubt leoforos doesnt have that. i would prefer to have leoforos built on than go build another....
-
links dont work....
-
i also would like to see, some aektzides post links please maybe the original have something....
-
i think we should expand leoforo- the only thing worse than keeping a tradition is breaking it!
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
