  1. No interest in this therad :(

Not much to be optimistic so far I guess.....

Our silver medalist womens polo lost their opener to Australia.....just like the men did...

Kaklamanakis finished 5th in windsurfing- not sure what that means...

Ioannis Christou, finished 3rd in his rowing race, meaning hell go on to the next round. Best news of the day - he was in 2nd for most of the race, so hes still in medal contention i feel.

Danilidou lost her match to a french girl....

Kayaking, some swimming all finished low...so basically not going far....

  2. does it really feel good to win an olympic medal knowing you cheated? i mean for real..

She was a cheat. No thanks.

Why on earth did we hear NOW weather or not she could come, and not a year ago?

    is stupid.

If your doped, stay home. Id rather this was not in the news, so we dont have to be reminded of what disgrace they were to the country last Olympics.

  3. Well this is going to be one of the worst games, least memorable (for Greece) - in addition to the doping incidents, are others are not doing so well.

Basketball our pride and joy started with a horrible performance against World Champs and Spain who are great, but we didnt need to lose that bad...Should have done much better......

The water polo (mens) started with their easiest match vs Australia, and lost 12-8. By easiest I mean it only gets downhll with Montenegro, Hungary in their group etc..

Our two beach volleball teams were eliminated today too....and Viki Karadasiou/arvaniti should have done much better than get eliminated in the first round...

    Another Judo guy went eliminated.....

Grigoriadis, our top swimmer, did not qualify for the semifinals and is out and so are all the other swimmers who competed....

The only positive was rowing and gymnastics were we stayed alive:

  4. i really wouldnt say no shot at all, thats a bit extreme....afterall they were mid table last year.......they finished 10th out of 20 teams..

Theyve spent some money, got some young players.....theyre no means definitley getting relegated.....Cheivo, Lecce, Cagliari, Catania, Siena, Bologna, Regginaetc are the bigger contenders , and Genoa can definitley win the battle with them to stay on top, if not even finish top half..

  5. What :o

Samaras staying in Celtic is probably his best option IMO.

Hell have a reasonable chances of the starting 11, and Celtic is a big club. If he starts finding goals in Scotland it will be great for him. Hes a striker and needs to be scoring. In EPL, Italy....I dont think he'll ever find his touch for goals...It may be Scotland, but goals are goals and not easy to come by, and it will make him a better, more experienced, and confident player in the future and thats the best he can hope for.

Scottish League is not amazing, but he plays for Scotlands best, and Celtic has a very good reputation, and he will get to compete in the Champions League. That would be great for him..He has a lot of room for improvement, and he wont survive if he throws hismelf into the type of competition hes simply not good enough for at the moment. He can escalate and findhimself at Celtic graduallly.

And Samaras in Italy?!? Hes not skilled enough for that at all, and not fast enough. Hed sink to the bench, and be playing for OFI within 2 years.

  6. and christian vieri.. hull city have good prospects and intentions of staying in the english premierleague..

VIERI AND SAMARAS ON THE SAME TEAM?!??!?!

What a miserable attacking duo. Hull are as good as relegated with those two as starting strikers. Did Hull bother WATCHING Vieri in the last 3 years?! Vieri cant go 90 mins in a prem game, let alone play well. Samaras is much better player than the Vieri of the last 3 years, but still......I dont know if Samaras will find himself again. He dropped dramatically in the EPL - I dont understand how, he was so promising.

  7. I doubt hed play at Lazio to be honest....he should try a smaller Italian club, many of them give opportunities and create careers for these strikers....Luca Toni was playing in newly promoted Palermo a few years ago and look how hes been able to develop and he was 28... and now at 31 yrs old scoring 34 goals for Bayern this last year.

  8. Hi All :)

I am a Trabzonspor fan from Turkey...There are many rumours here that we are close to sign your central defender Antzas...Have you ever heard anything about this issue? Is he a good player?I mean is he fast or good with ball?

Finally how can i watch the previous games Olympiakos?Do you have any idea?

Any ideas will be welcomed :)

    Thanks in advance

    You will love him.

In Greece Olympiakos and players/fans is reffered to as a "Gavros"

In Turkish, this is a beloved fish of the Black Sea you call "Hamsi"

But seriously, I dont think Antzas will go to Trabzonspor....I dont think he will leave Olympiakos after he just went back, and got Champions League with Olympiakos.

But he did retire from national team, so maybe hes looking for something new abroad. Retire compleltey? That would be suprising, but I never heard that.

As for Trabzon, I would not want this player. Hes very inconsistent and can be quite bad sometimes. But I dont really know who Trabzonspor have for defenders these days, so maybe hed be good?

  9. I dont think hed hold a spot at Fener......theyve got much better tall forwards like Kezman, Deivid, and Senturk......but if he did somehow start it could be good for him. I beleive hell get much better service to score goals from Fenerbahce's midfield than from Celtic and a big goal scoring season would be better for him I feel.

  10. FANIS GEKAS OE OE OE!!

    FANIS GEKAS OE OE OE!!

I am a huge Fanis fan since Kallithea, but I have to say I seriously hope that will be said A LOT vs Sweden....

In terms of Fanis Gekas, this tournament is his big chance to announce himself to the world....

Hes been good with PAO, Bochum and even Levekusen in UEFA particuarly, but since Bundesliga is overlooked considerably compared to other leagues, this is going to be massive for his career - particularly if hes still not consistently making the Leverkusen first squad, even though he did play many games for them.

Best of luck to all the Greeks tommorow, but Fanis in particular I hope makes a name for himself at the next level, hes done it at Kallithea, then PAO, then Germany, next stop is the international stage... Hopefully, itll be a great tournament for Gkekas, and eventually get more respect on the international stage....Hes shown (or at least proven to the rest of the Greeks) that hes more than just a lucky goalscorer, that he can move with the ball, create, and make his own goals... Its time for Greece to have that "name striker" that everybody knows about..... Gkekas is our best candidate to move on to that spotlight I feel and this tournament is where it can happen.

Absolutley ridiculous that, todays "preview" on ESPN they did not even say his name,

they talked about all the old players, but honestly how could you not be aware of who the top bundesliga scorer on the team are ???

Why is it there paid and dont even know these things here?
