  3. There are rumours circulating in England suggesting that since City have signed Corradi, Dikov and have Cole back from injury and they now have 5 strikers (along with Vassell and Samaras), Stuart Pearce has given Samaras a last chance to impress or he'll be shown the door! Will this finally make him pull his socks up and improve his workrate or is laziness something you just cant change, i.e. Lyperopoulos? Where would he go if this happens??? He's too lazy to be signed in the Prem, too expensive for Greece, will he end up back in Holland?
  4. Blackburn are considered a strong English side.
  5. I disagree, Okkas' work rate is excellent, his movement is very good, his ball control/dribbling skills are effective, and he's exceptionally clever. He's not a goal scorer but is very effective at what he does. Konstantinou is not the player he used to be but his strike rate is proven at both domestic and international level. Last season he was injured for 3 months (if I'm not mistaken) and he still got goals when he got back. So what????? When Okkas was a youngster he was flying! Kaiserslautern made an official offer to Salamina and when he was at Anorthosis Leverkusen made an offer and Juventus were keeping tabs! Having promise and potential, and fulfilling it are two different things. I dont doubt Samaras' talent, I doubt his readiness. He is lazy, weak on the ball and inconsistent.
  6. :o :o :o Absolutely spectacular! When is he going to start doing it for Greece and Man City?
  7. The Weder result was amazing! Arminia wasnt bad, you must remember that we've scored 7 in 2 games!! Blackburn are a physical side that like to attack so that will be a real test for Olympiakos. Were will the game be played?
  8. If I'm not mistaken Olympiakos are playing Weder Bremen. This will be a good test and should give some indication of how we'll go in the CL so I'd like to see a strong side play. Could some one please keep us informed of the score? Cant find a site to follow it anywhere.
  9. Thats great, now lets just hope he can carry on scoring and get some consistency in his game!
  10. Olympiakos lost 2-1, neither side played well, very scrappy affair.
  11. What he scored again in the game agianst Sion???
  12. Lets not get carried away, it was only the first friendly of the campaign. Nowhere near match fit, etc. Arsenal drew 0-0 with Barnet today for example, it doesnt mean anything. If it was the last firendly of pre-season then I'd worry, but now its nothing, esp when considering that Anderlecht had played 3 friendlies already.
  13. For anybody that may not know, the Anderlecht friendly today will be shown on Eurosport (7pm Greek time, 5pm English)
  14. Hi Ricardino, welcome. Please keep us informed with the Greek guys progress. I for one will be having a little outside bet on Benfica to win the CL.

  16. You're right dude. How amazing is it that a Cypriot has a higher ranking than Roddick, any other Aussie, Brit, Frenchman, Italian, German, etc. All these countries that are so big and spend so much on sport yet Marco is better than all of them.http://www.atptennis.com/en/players/entrysystem/ You know though, its not just his ability that makes me proud he's Greek-Cypriot, he's such a lovely guy. He's friendly, has a great personality, is funny, and is just a great representative of our people. Bravo Marco paihtara!
  17. Many top pundits believe that the only player more talented the Marco is Federer, and I'd have to say I agree. He has better hands than Nadal, Hewitt, Santoro, Nalbandian, etc. His movement is exceptional and he is very clever. So why is Nadal currently the slightly stronger player? Well you can answer that by merely looking a yesterdays game.In the 1st set Marco didnt turn up, fair enough. 2nd Set he played some wonderful tennis (both players did) but in the big games he'd hit a number of unforced errors. Once again raising questions about his ability to handle pressure. Also, when he got a first serve in he was near enough winning every point, but his second serve was poor and he'd only win 35% of those points. The fact that he always hits 1st serve faults shows that his concentration is low. Finally in the long rallies he appeared to tire. So 3 target points are: Learn to cope with pressure, improve concentration to keep 1st serve % high but also improve 2nd serve just in case, finally some serious fitness work. I think he's capable of being world no.1 one day but if he'll do it or not is another question. Dont forget he was world youth champ, and was dominant at youth level against players like Nadal, Gasquet, Murray, Monfils, Seppi, Djokovic, etc. Its been a great year so far though, Final of Aus Open, Semis of Wimbledon, next victory at the U.S.? Ela Marco mou, live up to your potential adelphi! :gr: :gr:

  19. Mama's Boy Baghdatis on a Roll
  20. I'm telling you, he'll beat Nadal too and set up another with Federer. Baghdatis will become our own little legend! SIKOSE TO, TO g*****ENO!
  21. Geia sou file. First off, allow me to welcome you to the boards. I havent been here that long either, but welcome anyway! :) Marco is now in the quarter-finals where he'll meet Leyton Hewitt (3rd seed), if he wins that he'll be likely to face Nadal (2nd seed) and unless there's a major upset Federer (top seed) will be waiting for the winner in the final! There are 4 major tournaments in Tennis (slams) the Australian is the 1st of the year, then the French, then Wimbledon and finally the US open. At the Australian he met Federer in the final and was quite unlucky I felt. After winning the first set and breaking in the 2nd he committed a number of unforced errors and handed the momentum to Federer. This time, hopefully his new found experience will get him through. For him to win it he has to beat the top three seeds so theres no easy route, but have faith... THA TO SIKOSI!!! :gr:
  22. SIKOSETO TO, TO g*****ENO, DEN MBORO, DEN MBORO NA PERIMENO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Marcos Baghdatis comfortably raced to a 2 set lead 6-3. 6-4, without playing some of his best tennis. However, cheered on by the home crowd, Murray made more of a fight of the third taking Baghdatis to a tie break. But the gulf in class was evident to see as Baghdatis dominated the tie break 7-2, to win in straight sets: 6-3, 6-4, 7-6. Now the paixtera, the giganta, the mangiti, the man, the warrior, MARCOS BAGHDATIS :nw: will meet Australian 6th seed Leyton Hewitt who overcame Ferrer in 4 sets. It promises to be an explosive match with Hewitt being JUST ANOTHER VICTIM!!! MARCOS-OLE-OLE-OLE!!!!!!!!!!!! :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr:
  23. Hi file,In Tennis, unless players are first on court there is no set time they start. However, he plays today (3rd of July) on Centre Court. The first match between Henin Hardene and Hantuchova starts at 1:00pm British time, the match shouldnt last more than 1 and a half hours to two hours max. Once they're done Marco plays. SO he should start at about 3pm English time. Dont know where your based but I think thats (3pm Greek time, 10am New York, Canberra 12pm, Toronto 9am). I hope that helps. As for watching it. If you have access to the BBC it will show it, if you want to follow the scores over the internet: http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/scores/cmat...atch/index.html If it doesnt list all matches, click here: http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/scores/cmatch/06ms.html Hope this helps file. Just do me a favour, when Baghdatis is serving for the match, where ever you are, whether at work, at home, or even at a wedding! Find the nearest table, stand on it, light a flare and chant your ass off!!! SIKOSE TO, TO g*****ENO, DEN MBORO, DEN MBORO NA PERIMENO!!! :gr: :nw: :gr: :nw: :gr: :nw: :gr: :nw: :gr: :nw: :gr: :nw: :gr: :nw: :gr: :nw: :gr:
