  1. It's been over 15 years since we've been this low in the rankings. Start winning and the rankings take care of themselves. Nothing to worry about. Of course we are going to get the usual posters in here proclaiming that it's all doom and gloom and wanting the ghosts of Rehhagel past to come back. Patience my miserable friends. Patience!
  2. They are junk but they are in season whereas PAS has been ridiculously slow in sorting their squad and preparating for these matches. Let's not see a Celtic result here.
  3. I'm certain he can't. UEFA treats ties as 1 match so to speak so he wasn't registered for the ties. They'll get through and he should be available for the next round.
  4. You're lucky. Listen to the voice in your head.
  5. They just signed their 3rd Frenchman. 22yo Lionel Zouma who's brother Kurt is a Chelsea player. He's a central defender who was at Sochaux last season.
  6. I don't think they'll have Gianniotas as he didn't sign up in time but hoping they beat these amateurs. You guys see how Celtic lost to a bunch if part-timers from Gibraltar?
  7. Gianniotas doesn't seem to have a future with Olympiakos. He should stay permanent with APOEL or go to Belgium.
  8. Yes, apparently all UEFA members were provided tickets. I don't really like Girtzikis but it's more of a perception. I'm losing a level of respect for SDNA though. They have a very clear bias and agenda and they seem to love SYRIZA. Whenever they go on a rant about EPO or Girtzikis I switch off.
  9. Yeah he should come back to the A-League so his dad can tell anyone who'll listen to him how Greece is a worse standard than Western Sydney Wankers (the irony).
  10. To be honest, this is perfectly appropriate for how Samaras's career has degenerated.
  11. I'm not counting the 1-0 to Australia due to jetlag and a horafi for a pitch. Pash, make it official with FIFA.
  12. You wouldn't forget your medications right? So why would you forget to laugh?
  13. GrkCdn, yes apparently meet and greets for fans are available. For a nominal fee of $25 that's USD not that inferior Canuck currency you can press Samaras' flesh or he can press yours after the match.
  14. That would be a massive bam. I doubt it happens though.
  15. Huh? Sorry is this a joke? What's it to the government if clubs want to sign loan players or loan them out? Again the government meddling where it shouldn't. Here we go with another FIFA ban.
  16. Good signing. I remember some of his appearances for Xanthi and although he's not Roberto Carlos or Dani Alves he's very solid.
  17. I am neither sentimental for Santos nor envious of Portugal. Good luck to them but Santos had his time as Greece coach and he was equally part frustrating and fortunate as well to have had on paper, a seemingly decent run. Although I preferred Santos to Otto's reign post Euro 2004, I still don't understand the yearning for him. He was dire at Euro 2012. How he picked Chalkias to be his starting keeper let alone even having him in the squad was ridiculous. Picking Avraam as his starting central defender was equally self-sabotaging when you consider the season that Kyriakos Papa had. Thankfully through luck (as in injury) both of these players had little influence and Santos's hand was forced. However against Germany when the whole world was watching he was so frustratingly conservative that he again sabotaged us. OK, he overachieved if you compare him with Otto post 2004, but that just shows how much Rehhagel had seriously lost the plot post Euro 2004 and was embarrassing for Greece.
  18. I agree with you RS. However I can also see us failing as well. It's all about the mentality and preparation of the players.
  19. I agree that if there was more of an Australian presence in Greece there would be a focus on them and the league, but the reality is that 99% of Australian players aren't good enough for Greece. Let's pretend for a second and consider this scenario: "Bruno Fornaroli would tear the Greek league apart if he ever played there!" We all know that Fornaroli was one of the biggest duds to EVER play in Greece. He went there on 550k Euros a season and aside from 2 goals in the cup against lower league opponents, laid an egg in the league. He is probably the best import to play in the A-League whilst he'll forever be considered a joke in Greece. That's the difference between GSL and A-lg. No offense meant to the player as he seems like a decent person though.
  20. It could also be Gekas or Chalkias the keeper.
  21. Young Savvidis played that very well. Respect. Vierinha sounds like he's an opportunist and is definitely playing the PAOK fans. As a follower of Greek football I want all the clubs to be strong in Europe and for the league to be close. Vierinha will make PAOK better but if he's not serious then xeston.
  22. South Melbourne Hellas got knocked out by Bentleigh. Every new dawn A-Leaguer would have cheered at this result. Shame that more Greek clubs didn't make it.
