@Dean97 I think JVS can and should take some of the credit for how Limnios has developed and how he has played for the NT. I watched Limnios week in week out for PAOK and he plays far better for the NT than he generally did for PAOK (he did have his moments) I think JVS has given him a lot of confidence and has told him "You're the man, I believe in you and you have a massive part to play for the Greek National Team moving forward." You're gripes with his player selections are justified (some of them) but he has implemented a playing style that is sustainable and has allowed us to boss and dominate teams that we were previously struggling to retain possession against, let alone beat. For that he deserves credit. Mavropanos is injured again and out until the new year, he played once for Stuttgart before his body broke down again. Retsos played his first game overnight for Saint-Etienne and I'm fairly confident if he stays fit and plays the next couple of games he'll be called up for the November games. Masouras plays in Poland he won't get a look in, Poland's league is far worse than Greece where he has only played for teams battling relegation. Bakakis is the best right back we have currently and that's not good. Rota should've been given more playing time and if he's not trusted then he shouldn't be called up, simple. Siopis is another destroyer with limited ability on the ball like Zeca and Kourbelis, he won't solve our problems in midfield. Galanopoulos JVS has stated he rates, he's not playing with AEK atm since returning from injury and resolving a contract feud. It's all good and well to throw the names out there but there is legitimate reasons as to why 90% of the names you mentioned aren't selected. I don't think it's a conspiracy personally, but that's just me. Fortounis v Bakasetas is an interesting debate, I've maintained all along the NT would improve immensely from Fortounis and someone like Donis (who too has hardly played this season) buying into the system and pressing the opposition. As it stands those players don't do that, Baka and Mantalos do. So JVS sacrifices talent for guys who will allow us to play his way, you need a balance and this is probably the key thing on pitch that he needs to sort out.

I will agree with you that Fourtonis without the ball looks lackadaisical at times and like he’s not interested. but to be completely honest there’s no comparison between him and Bakasetas.. You needed to win that game against Kosovo you had no business starting Mantolas on the wing and Bakasetas when you needed to score. Also JVS took our most effective and dangerous player off in Liminos when we needed a goal. When Fortounis and Fountas came on you could see the dynamic of the game open up for us and that needs to be a wake up call for JVS. Also seeing Liminos scream at Chatzigovanis To make a run was embarrassing and that should show JVS you can’t just play guys in a position they are not use to playing. I liked the things JVS did at the end of our last campaign but I have to admit I’m getting very frustrated with some of these moves. This is no different of how I felt with every other coach post our last World Cup appearance.. Regarding Manolas, if JVS gave him the impression as per the last article that he’s going to try some young guys and then reach back to him then JVS is at fault, I would rather he be straight up with him and tell him why he won’t call him up rather then lead him on as you can see from the article Manolas is a little bit in shock that JVS has not reached out to him. I don’t agree with Siovas comments but should that mean he’s automatically cut from the team for good? I understand punishing him but to completely cut him I’m not too sure if that’s the right move.. JVS needs to read the game quicker in my opinion, if the game is not going as planned and you need a win then don’t wait until the 75th minute too make changes give the guys some time to do something. I strongly believe if Fourtonis and Fountas along with Liminos were on for the majority of the game against Kosovo then we get the win. JVS still has earned the right to finish this Nations league and barring a complete collapse in our next two games he has earned the right to at least coach the team through the World Cup qualifiers. The main issue I have is we are leaving players out who are desperately needed especially when we face a lot better competition like we will during the World Cup qualifiers..

He highlighted the fact that he along with Sokratis and Siovas were key pieces to their club sides as well. One year on and Manolas has stated that he has not heard back.

JVS has tried to get him. EPO reached out to him and he said he would be interested. Apparently there were huge administrative hurdles and it seems unlikely that there will be able to be resolved. Zeca was straight forward because he lived in Greece for 7 years. He speaks Greek fluently and he says he feels Greek. He passed all the language test and relevant history exam necessary for citizenship. If you see him, he sings the national anthem along the other players, maybe louder. I have no problem with him being called up.

I think people give you a hard time because you come out here taking shots at people like you’re so f***ing superior and you think you know your s%$#!, you make some valid points about players as do other guys on here but that s%$#! goes out the window with your Internet tough guy attitude. When we start saying things like I don’t agree with what he’s doing then you know it’s not going to end well, especially for JVS. He’s doing some dumb things Skibbe was doing. Comparing the 2 managers no one is better than the other. My first feeling of him getting the job was a bad one and that feeling may end up proving me right. Something tells me EPO have something to do with it also. Limnios has been our best player since he’s taken over. He in large part is the reason we look more modern in our playing style. Without him how do you think we would look? Just like before he was in charge in my opinion. Limnios is the reason for anything positive. Think about it Mantalos is not any good at LW and always tries to play central. Bakasetas has most of the time ruined our attack because of his poor touch and lack of vision and also his slowness. Pavlidis is the doing the best he can but isn’t getting the right service due to Zeca and Kourbelis not being able to be imaginative. Giannoulis is the other bright spot in this team. In my opinion we should: 1. Find a new RB. Someone who is capable in defence and attack. We should look at Giannis Masouras who plays regularly in Poland. 2. Find a better paring then Svarnas and Stafylidis at CB. I don’t think Svarnas is better than Mavropanos, Retsos and Hatzidiakos. No need to explain the reason why Stafylidis needs to be replaced. We all know why... 3. Drop Bakasetas entirely and bench Mantalos for a few games. That would open up a spot for an actual LW and CAM. I’d go with Fortounis and Chatzigiovanis (I’m curious to see what he’s got) 4. Lastly and most importantly in my opinion find a box to box number 8 next to one of Bouchalakis/Kourbelis/Zeca. We should look at Siopis, Galanopoulos, Vasiliadis and possibly Mantalos for that role. Someone who works hard but also has good ball skills, great vision with good passing also.

Pelkas is way better than Bakasetas in my opinion. Faster and smarter player.

Even Pelkas is more industrious than Baka. Jvs is stubborn to learn lately. Gate 7 earlier pod makes mention of Retsos being the ouf & out best RB option for Ethniki. I would swap out Bakakis for him in my lineup, I agree with them on that really.

This love JVS has with Bakasetas doesn’t make sense.. Any logical coach can see he’s not a starter.
