  1. We tried for Mourinho but his demand for 1000 kg of olives that are only picked by virgins couldn't be fulfilled. We were unable to find enough virgins.

  2. When I meet other Greeks or diaspora born and raised or living abroad, I am always interested to hear what their life and customs are like. I would very much like to hear a few things about yourselves and how life may differ depending on which part of the world you live in. Look at my example below and, if you like, use the same template. Please also feel free to add something. Background: One parent Greek the other English, born and raised in England Did your parent(s) teach you Greek/Do you speak Greek?: Yes Education: English school with Greek school every Saturday up until the age of 11, university in England Friend groups: A mixture of friends from all over the world, we have family friends that are also of a Greek and English mix, a few Greek friends in Greece Greek influence in daily life: Music, a film every now and again, news and football The last time you went to Greece: Summer 2016

  3. A slight one. He'll be available for the national team game, that's for sure. Actually he'll be in action the upcoming weekend. I'd take Kapino but I've no idea for how long he will be out. He'll surely miss Olympiacos game on Thursday, so the chances are limited. Most likely Glykos will start, with Mparkas and let's say Lamprou of Willem will get a call up. All in all I think the team is in a much better shape right now. Almost everyone gets regular playing time in their clubs abroad ( Karnezis, Torosidis, Sokratis, Manolas, Stafylidis, Samaris, Mitroglou, Siovas, Papadopoulos are all regular starters as well as Oikonomou, Tzavellas, Tachtsidis and co. Looking back in November, Samaris and Papadopoulos were bench warmers, Siovas and Tzavellas had no club, Torosidis wasn't regular either. Maniatis too, who was the first option, he was not even allowed to train with Olympiacos. Also, I'd like to see Vergos, Retsos and Manthatis ASAP in the national team. I don't understund why they should waste call ups to Diamantakos, Bakasetas, Lazaros ( ? ) and Petsos. * Kudos to that coach who didn't cap Lodygin in time. We would be packed now...

  4. What I'd like to see in the second leg ; Leali ( unfortunately Kapino is still injured ) Figeuiras Botia Da Costa Retsos Martins Cambiasso Fortounis Manthatis / Marin ( I think he will be a liability if he starts, not ready to play a full game yet ) Androutsos Ansarifard Currently we seem to be in our best shape this year. Both mentally and technically. Coach has done a great job with the rotation and has managed to utilize in less than a week, players that had to play a game for about 3 months. Also Besikas drew an arguably bad turkish side at the weekend, at home, equalizing in the last 5 minutes. They will also miss their CB Marcelo, he picked up a slight injury. We have nothing to fear, we'll play our game and I think we're pretty capable to go through. Besiktas subcounsiously will let Oly dominate the game as the time passes. With some luck we can upset them. Even if we don't I think we already punched above our weight this season. Playing awufullty for the whole season, despite having opponents like Young Boys, Apoel, Astana, Hapoel Beer Sheva and Osmanlispor so far. In any other season I'd be fully convinced Oly could reach the quarter finals and get past from this almighty turkish side. A big fcvk you to Paulo Bento who excluded Chori Dominguez from EL squad. The Portuguese was a true cancer, a chemistry killer. Just look how unmotivated the players were, with him on the bench.

  5. I am confident the manager you would like does not exist. A proven manager, who is in his prime now (not a has been like Huub) will not come to the GSL no matter what we offer. It's the same for finding players as well. We can only get players of a certain "type" and have to roll the dice and hope they work out. This idea of just spend and they will come. Who will come ? Would you go to the GSL if you were playing in the Serie A for example ? Sure, maybe if you were 33 and weren't getting any more games. I would rather stick with Ivic who seems to (at this stage anyway) be adaptable (read learn from errors) and as paokarag4 said doesn't have an ego. The team is playing decent football. It's rare we get thoroughly outplayed. It took a team of the calibre of Schalke to give us a real football lesson. Even this heavy defeat to AEK, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Sometimes the players just f--k s--t up. Was it Ivic's tactics to blame that we conceded a goal in the 1st minute ? Or did Ivic instruct Maleza to get a stupid red card ? Having said that, we didn't deserve a point from this game either. Another thing, I don't know if it's Lubos or Ivic or both or someone else, but with the players they brought in this season, there were a lot more "hits" than misses. Matos, Varela, Crespo, Canas all pretty good transfers all things considered. Shakhov, Biseswar decent and seem to be finding their level. Campos fair enough doesn't seem good enough. Henrique, Warda, Prijovic seem promising. I have seen a lot more "misses" in the past seasons.

  6. This is Ivic's first senior coaching gig. I think all in all he's done a good job. Has he made mistakes? Absolutely, but on the whole he has done well. Won the play-offs last season, got us into the round of 32 in the Europa league and we are on track in the cup and there is no reason we shouldn't win the play-offs this season again. He is learning, I truly believe he isnt a coach (at this stage anyway) who's ego is too big and isn't willing to learn and change things. He's proven this (5 at the back in the cup v panotoliko/away vs pas) but as I say he has also made errors. 5 at the back vs Schalke was in hindsight a mistake. Starting Crespo at left back last night vs AEK was a mistake. He is a young coach who has a done a pretty good job if you ask me. He's learning, is he the one to take us to promised land? I don't know, but he has certainly earned at least another season regardless of what happens from here on till the end of the season. The ever revolving door of coaches that has been our club over the last 5-6 years has given us no chance at success. We need stability, players need it.

  7. I must have missed the countless posts. But back to the more important question, who to replace Ivic with (that will also come to the club) ?

  8. Criticism of Ivic is fine. But I haven't read any criticism from you. Just whining. Look around the landscape. PAOK fans are the master bashers. Bodies littered everywhere. A new manager every year. Seriously, who should PAOK be trying to get ? It's the 14th "best" league in Europe and getting worse year on year. Where is this imaginary super manager you want and how will you get him to come to Greece and PAOK ? If it was as simple as dollars, it would've happened by now.

  9. Haha I kept seeing Σάμπο and what ended up coming out was a combination of the two. Sadly I realized my error too late to make the edit
