  1. OK. Fair point. But, what is it that makes, say, Canadian POs, or British, etc, react differently? Mentally disturbed persons or those who don't pose immediate harm to others, or even irate and threatening persons are dealt differently, but not necessarily in the US. You've seen the videos, just in the last year of POs shooting a barrage of bullets when a taser might have been more appropriate. It's my impression that due to lack of training and the prevailing culture within most police dpts POs tend to escalate a confrontation. Whether "we can afford" to train them better, well, I don't have the answer to this. But, cities pay millions in fines for wrongful deaths, treatment, etc.

  2. This discussion about the Greek SL's place among European leagues is pointless. Consider this: 2014 Average Wages by League Greece ranked 21st with an average player wage of 145,000 Pounds Sterling. That;s almost equal to THE MLS. Let that sink in for a moment. Hold it... hold it... Also, Exhibits "A"-"D" A-The 12 "smaller" clubs in our league have no money to develop, or pay for talent. B-TV revenue for the clubs has gotten worse not better. C-at least half of the stadiums are ancient, have low capacity, and terrible attendance. D-The league DID NOT HAVE A CORPORATE SPONSOR IN 2015/16. Think about that. No one wanted to assocaite themselves with the SL. That's about 1 mil euros per club in lost sponsorship revenue. It's all about money. So long as we are in a recession, our league (from top to bottom) is a shell of its former self from 2000-2008. Accept the realities, hope for a better tomorrow with meaningful changes in the EPO, SL, KED. Then we can become competitive top to bottom and send teams to Europe to rattle the big boy's cages. <mic drop> p.s. Can anyone name a bigger clown at the helm of a major football club than Gigi Becali? I mean, Steaua is a former European champion! I feel bad that Hatzi has to deal with this crap because he is a solid player than can become pretty good with playing time and good coaching. I hope the transfer happens and he gets 20-30 games under his belt. Looks like Alvaro basically said no f-ing way he's going to Greece. Frankly, I don't think we need 4 strikers. Klaus-Facundo-Koulouris rotation is fine by me - remember, our biggest problem the last two years has not been finishing, it's been getting that through ball in the final third of the pitch to even get in a scoring position! I think the new additions make our offensive output better just by being able to get the ball in the 18-yd box.

  3. I just don't want to watch you two tear yourselves apart, when I know what you really want is to hug it out.

  5. This will be a good challenge for us. But I don't take friendlies seriously. To me a friendly game is like training. What counts is World Cup/Euro competitions (Qualifications/Major tournaments).

  7. boy, aren't you sensitive... I wasn't talking about you. As to your quotes, well, police are supposed to be the professionals. "Dealing with sh&t" doesn't mean doing so by shooting or beating up people. As long as there's no violence, civilians should yell whatever they want in a civil protest. Unfortunately, in the US some police dpts by policy and most cops by temperament and training are ready to escalate instead of de-escalate tense situations. Someone said 20% of cops are very decent people, 20% are total scumbags, and the rest go along with the flow... I say, everyone in a police encounter should be careful how they relate to a cop, and that they should keep in mind the cops are like lethal robots that can have a major malfunction at any moment.

  8. Simao spent 2 years in the "academy" and therefore can be registered as a youth player

  9. Joking aside, Platanias had a decent team last season. Skondras should be a good fit for them. Rayo is asking for 6 mil for Miku. If I was Michel I would tell them to go screw themselves. Rayo saw that we are getting 6 mil from the Lucas transfer, and they want to get their dirty hands on that money.

  10. I must be a genius to you if you're so confused by a simple Tier concepts. What does one thing have to do with the other? The leagues quality is the sum of all it's teams....Team Ranking is an individual accomplishment. Are you saying PAOK and AEK and PAO are on par with Benfica? Zenit? Fener? If so, why is it a natiopnal holiday any time we get a tie against them? I'll give you a hint, it's because we acknowledge they are a step above us and we accomplished something by beating them.

  11. Most of the leagues he mentioned are better than the Greek league (albeit I'd argue against the Czech and Israeli leagues), but my point was the idea that the Greek league is "3rd tier". There are 50 leagues in Europe, so are we to say that the Greek league is at the same level as the Slovakian, Lithuanian leagues etc

  12. I agree with Boston here... Right now all those LEAGUES are better than the Greek league. You can point to a couple of teams and say yeah we can compete... but I think most of our teams would be relegated from the top leagues no problem and our top teams would be mid table at best

  13. Are you suggesting that because 2 individuals hold shares in the same company automatically implies that they share friendly relations? Because it's not unheard off to have shareholders that are hostile with on another... A lot of these rivals in the stadiums share common business interests off the field btw....

  14. Really? Does the name: Koriopolis ring a bell? The other match fixing scandal back in 2011? As in 5 years ago?Maybe you don't remember because your club was not as invested then... Like I said, meetings with fatso will amount to nothing. He must be destroyed if you want to affect change.

  15. OS, how little we've become??? Lol You're right, never having played in 3rd division really did a number on us... And paying off our debts like big boys really made US small... Lol Fact: we chose the hard route and have opposed the paragka like no other club. You're team took the easy route to forfeit debts and took a "break" from it all for a few years after the infamous "sta xartia" year.. You guys folded like bitches. Kai mas bgazete Kai glossa apo pano!!!! Lol Again, in last year's meeting (YouTube clip I posted, why does Baggela accuse Ala of being behind the drug trafficking accusations? Why does he tell him:"mou koustises 18 ekatomiria"? Right, it was the phantom menace Melissanidi.... Riiiight
