  1. I think Mavrias gave us width we now lack. Also, Gordon formed a nice duo with Kavlaridis.. Both of these guys, along with Steel were sorely missed the last couple of games... I'm all for criticizing the team when it doesn't perform, but give credit when credit is due, otherwise you come off as a mizero...

  2. All depends on if the parakga has been stamped out... Otherwise pointless to make predictions. AEK above PAO??? Really RS?

  3. Saw the game. He just reads the opposing plays so well and attacks the passing alleys first and ends the danger. Sokrati is a quality defender. He's at a top level club in one of the best leagues in Europe. Perfect set up for him in his club career right now.

  4. You name me what was wrong in mine? :P You can't say our team was "lucky". That is horse s%$#!. The League was lucky Berg was out to start last season. That is the best striker by far gone for weeks on end. And when he came back, how long did it take him to hit his stride? Yup.. And somehow, up until our convincing win vs the Gavs, (when the corrupt system took over yet again), we were by far the hottest team in the 2nd half.. And then came point deductions, suspensions and what not. Yes some guys rested, (why not if you're not allowed to compete fair and square), yet others stepped up as well for the playoffs: Ninis looked the role of an offensive maestro and developed instant synergy with Berg, Mavrias added another dimension on the wing and was whipping 1 beautiful cross after another. Karelis continued his rise to fulfilling his full potential and the team on D led by Steel, Kavla, and Gordo kept blanking the opposition. I don't care what form PAOK, Atromitos and Asteras had.. We would beat them no matter what. Lest we forget that if the Protathlima was decided by the games between the top 5-6 teams PAO would of run away from it a clear winner... I suggest you stop reading pro-gav propaganda on toilet sites like contra (who are more than happy not to report anything about heroin smuggling) and watch your team and give credit where it's due. And despite the lack of budget, our boys led by Anastasiou continue to do us proud. As you like to say: Rome wasn't built in a day...

  7. Greek football has been relegated to a lower division and will probably sink further. The owners and the idiots who were in charge killed it. Here are some additional factors that don't bode well for Greek football. the money, talent gap between the big and lesser euro clubs is getting wider; only a handful of teams are true competitors for trophies; money flows to successful teams, because it's hard to invest in a mediocre/bad club in a shitty domestic league the Greek league collectively didn't realize that the generations born after 1990s have many more opportunities to spend their time & money; in the past, almost every boy had an interest in footbal, but not anymore; so they've lost millions of fans. Fewer interested people, especially in a small county, the sport suffers. the low attendance is partly to the bad visuals: crappy fields, bad officiating, and play; the other is the violence. I wouldn't take my little kids to a soccer game in Greece (for most games), because it's not safe; many people are disgusted by what has been going on. Sports in advanced countries are for some crazy fans who have no life but live to be a fan of a team (minority), but for the most part (majority) sports are for entertainment, often for all ages. When the latter withdraw the remaining pool is more toxic because the hooligans seem to treat this as their domain. corruption. If you believe (as it is) the game is fixed or unfair it chews down your interest and participation (and your spending) the general situation with the Greek economy drastically reduces the flow of money into soccer there. Do you think any of these conditions will change any time soon?

  9. I think TV coverage comparison....is unfair as we don't live in GREECE...Therefore we do not get the proper HD coverage and variety of GSL programs that Greeks get...we get a poor stream via Antenna...absolutely unwatchable at times...Gate Antenna and Derby are garbage.....But I have seen some better standard and quality soccer programs on Satellite TV....It makes the whole experience enjoyable... Also regarding stadia and pitches...these are also handpicked..it would be like GSL only being played at Karaiskaki, Leoforo, Harilaou, AEL Arena. OAKA, Toumba, Patra, Volos, Iraklio

  10. The ALeague is probably bottom half of Scottish League level...and we see how well Scottish teams do in Europe? To put things into perspective . Not just the Burns example.....there's also Barbarouses killing it too... AND........Melb City just signed Bruno Fornaroli.....in my opinion the worst player I have seen at PAO....This guy was beyond poor..

  12. That attitude of "no one gives a F*** about the NT" makes me laugh, its actually quite sad, I bet those that say that are the first ones to celebrate when they win in a Euro or WC. The vazelia had the most players in the 2004 team, saying "the vazelia destroyed it" just shows pure hate nothing more. Ange would be great in my opinion, it would take time with him but I think he would do well. He has also come out and said he would love to coach AEK one day, that would be awesome!!
