  1. This was the best draw we could have gotten, but we're still the underdogs here. There's a tremendous pressure on our team & coach to advance to next round. I don't know how conservative Anastasiou will be. We have several new players and they seem to give up too many goals, most due to mental lapses. Pao needs this more than anyone. Not only for the obvious psychological boost, but for bare financial reasons. Anyway, I hope we do well, and I would take A's score, 3-1 :D

  2. First of all, I don't think they would be printing the old drachmas. It would be a parallel currency alongside the euro. It would mean that public servants get paid and pensions get paid whether there is an agreement or not. Already we are light years ahead of our present predicament.

  3. Sick of seeing us pick up these guys who play a handful of games for 8 clubs on their way to us and we play them in 15 games over 2 years before we work out they are sh1tful. Looks like a Lucio Filomeno all over again. I hope I'm wrong

  4. This game does not bode well for me..... Our offense hasn't shown ANYTHING in the off season... no chemistry aside from Kaltsa showing a lot of maturity and determination but he's not expected to get significant playing time during this game The thing that will do us in is our defense.... Tavla/Sanchez are on two completely different planets in terms of chemistry..... they are both turtles and Anastasiou is trying to change Sanchez's style/game.... Sanchez likes to organize his defense and urge his teammates to rush up ahead and attack... Anastasiou had a "sit down" trying to restructure Sanchez' fundamental philosphy..... Thats a gigantic red flag.... Not to mention, our goal keeper situation is in dire straits.... Steele is injured and rushing to come back from his injury.... I dont think he will be as fluid as he typically is which is bad news.... we saw it during the Levadiakos game Kotsolis is our backup.. but he does not communicate well with the defense and he moves like a 60 yr old... his dives are in slow motion.... He's a decent shot stopper but thats about it.... Nano is injured... Xouxou is not a good defender (good wing back though)... Pranjic is decent at LB but he doesn't have any chemistry with the LW player.... We are in bad shape..... its only been a month since our last official game and yet we look like a completley disjointed, unrecognizable team..... Does not bode well at all....

  5. The soap opera continues. I don't know what is going on behind the scenes but there is and has been definitely something wrong with our NT post World Cup. I'm not part of the team nor do I pretend to know everything but I have drawn some of my own conclusions. Firstly my theory is that our players were promised money by EPO that they were entitled to for reaching the final 16 of the World Cup. The players as we all know and was made public declined the money and wanted all of it put towards the youth soccer and bettering the fields and training grounds for them. I have a strong hunch that our good old friendly EPO crooks never gave any money and thus the players all rebelled and never played for Ranieri or EPO from that point on. This is one theory that makes absolute sense to me and explains our poor results. Another one is that Ranieri was brought in against the players wishes who never wanted Santos to leave and from what I am reading EPO did everything in their power to make sure he did and succeeded. Ranieri came in then soon to follow (Mr. can't stay away from the NT..... Karagounis). They had to find something for Karatoumba to do and gave him the TD position and everything spiraled from there. Knowing Karagounis he formed his clicka and turned players against Ranieri as he did when he was playing. He made sure to omit Holebas from selection and probably ruffled some feathers in the process. Get this guy far away from the NT he is a cancer. Him and Katsouranus. They were when they were playing and he continued to be past his playing days. He always had to be the center of attention. Never coming off (not even in friendlies), taking every free kick, every corner (when we had players with a way better leg than him especially as he got up there in age). EPO obviously has no choice now as Markarian resigned and it is clear Kara had something to do with this as well. He obviously made promises to him when he was hired and told him he would have carte blanche for selections and that is not what transpired as the egomaniac had to flex his muscle and stick his nose in player selection and starting lineups. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!! Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out George. We have time with the games left in this campaign to save face and climb the rankings again and win out possibly and get in some good friendlies and continue building positive results towards our World Cup qualifying campaign. I can't believe EPO allowed it to come to this.

  6. Also never mind the fact that the son of Savvas Theodoridis (Olympiakos VP) is part of UEFA committee, and when Platini visits Greek islands, he is usually on board of a Marinakis yacht. Don't expect anything to be done by UEFA.
