NTV Sports Reporter Gokmen Orkmez stated in today's edition of FUTBOL PAZARI that Besiktas board had hold a unscheduled meeting @ 18:30 on Sep 26. The meeting went on for about seven hours and despite the fact that the decision is not released yet, it's believed to be about Vicente Del Bosque's job. He is rumoured to have handed his resignation to the Chairman Yildirim Demiroren but whether the board accepted or not is not known yet...

I hope the Spaniard's Turkish Venture will not end prematurely... :(

BESIKTAS v BODO\GLIMT...

Thursday's game will be huge for Besiktas as the Istanbul-based club's season is on the rope after the home loss against Ankaraspor. The team seems to have no physical problems apart from goalkeeper Oscar Cordoba. He is not expected to be fully fit for up to three weeks. Sergen Yalcin and Alieu Carew have some minor injuries but both will take part in the vital UEFA Cup Round One 2nd leg game. As for the ongoing chaos among the Besiktas Board Members, some still insist that sacking Del Bosque will be a good step forward but several members are standing by the Spaniard who stated yesterday that he is not thinking of resignation and the news that he handed his resignation to the Chairman is nothing but fake news.

I think that Del Bosque's 4-4-2 will pay off against the Norwegian team who has to score at least one goal to qualify. Ahmed Hassan's away goal on 87 minutes in Norway has probably destructed Bodo's plans. If they kept it 1-0, they would only be looking for quick counter-breaks at Inonu but now it's completely another story. I think Del Bosque should field two rapid central defenders and these two names should be Atan Cagdas and Ibrahim Toraman in my opinion. This is because Bodo have fast attackers in Bjorkan, Runar Berg and Christer Berg. Trond Olsen is injured and is a likely absence for Bodo. I fairly think that Besiktas midfield needs to be tighter. Besiktas midfield so far had problems in winning balls from the opposition and there has to be hard working central midfielders in that midfield. Tayfun Korkut could be one of them but I have some serious doubts for the second name there. Besiktas' meaningless transfers in the pre-season are now paying off. They have 6 central defenders to select from for only 2 spots but only 1 anchorman to fulfill 2 places. Ridiculous  ! It seems that it has to be Buruk Okan who is a natural right-winger. Another soultion here could be Berkant Goktan who is arguably the most versatile player in the squad but he has only played 9 minutes since the start of the season. Left wing is Ibrahim Akin's now and Juanfran must be wondering why he left Baladios at the moment!

Alieu Carew will start as thecentral striker and Sergen Yalcin will be his helper. Although several people still fail to understand why Daniel Pancu is left on the bench, i really can not find a place for him in the first team.

Anyway this is Vicente Del Bosque's probable line-up for the game against Bodo tomorrow...

----------------------Sergen---------Carew--------------------------

---Ibrahim Akin---Tayfun-----------Buruk Okan--------Hassan---

---Uzulmez-------Toraman----------Cagdas------------------Ali---

-----------------------------Sahin Murat------------------------------

And this is Sir Ozgur Ferguson*'s line-up...

--------------------------------Carew--------------------------------

----------------------------Ibrahim Akin-----------------------------

---Sergen--------Toraman----------Berkant-------Buruk Okan---

---Juanfran-------Cagdas-----------Emre Asik--Fatih Sonkaya---

------------------------------Ramazan--------------------------------

And I think that an eager and infuriated Besiktas team will come out to the field and Besiktas will at last remember that they're the Blackeagles of Turkish soccer and comfortably beat Bodo 3-0 (Carew - Sergen - I.Akin)

Any predictions or ideas before the game @ Inonu???

The Eagles fielded a very close squad to mine as Ramazan Kurshunlu took the gloves from Sahin Murat and as Fatih Sonkaya moved into right-back, formerly of a lacklustre Ali Gunes... And Sonkaya showed why i insisted on him... i'm also insisting on Berkant for that central midfield role... hope Vici sees that shortly...

A good display ended in a 1-0 win for Besiktas...

WELL DONE IBO  !

It's been a heavily dumping season for Besiktas so far. Many of the experts favoured them to win the Turkish SuperLeague and they were considered among the top teams in the UEFA Cup. After a dizzy start to the Turkish domestic season Besiktas needs to pick things up and go for an unmatched achievement in the UEFA Cup. The signings like Juanfran, John Carew, Ibrahim Toraman and Cagdas Atan should pay off right now as Besiktas is drawn in the Group B of the UEFA Cup group stages. The other teams include Parma, Standard Liege, Steaua and Athletic Bilbao. I say a third place finish will do for Besiktas since they have to play Parma away...

But they have a big big chance to go thru...

I should've start from the beginning of the game according to the writing rules of journalism, but I'll not.. Because I ain't a journalist. I am just a Besiktas fan! I wanna start with min 88. 2 mins before the last whistle of the referee. Besiktas is winning against Diyarbakir by 4-0. I see two Besiktas players, two Blackeagles pressing the Diyarbakirspor player to get the ball and score one more goal for Besiktas. That's just amazing, I mean.. That's the love, that's the hunger of success, that's what Besiktas wants to see. About the rest of the game? Forget it. We started, we played and we won. Diybarkirspor players were just there trying to stop the attacks of Besiktas, which they were luck and couldn't stop only 4, but other attacks were either missed by our players or saved by diyarbakirspor's lucky defence players. Besiktas won this game, and started the season 2004-2005 at the 8th week. It's never late. We might not win the championship, but we also might win it. We don't care about a cup , what we care is to see the Besiktas players putting their blood in to the game, and play it for death. We saw it, as long as they keep this attitude, eventhough if they lose all the further games, they will have us supporting them! Oh, I want to mention two players today, One Okan Buruk, I don't know where does he get his power, but I started to think he is made of iron, and other player is Juanfran, you are in a good way Juanfran, don't stop.. Just keep doing good job, especially the critical passes you have made was excellent, I don't know if Juanfran reads our page, but if he does, We trusted him, and We will trust him. and now let me finish my article as supporters say, VICENTE OLE OLE OLE, DEL BOSQUE OLE OLE OLE!

Besiktas began the Turkish Super League 2004-2005 season with the worst performance of it's all time history. The champion of the transfer season , Besiktas is a really a new team with 12 new transferred players. Turkish Giants have brought stars from Europe such as John Carew (Valencia) , Okan (Inter), Juanfran, Ibrahim Toraman, Ibrahim Akin.. After big defeats in Turkish League finally Besiktas started to win the games in a row and climb up the table. Besiktas's recent performance was still not as good as it supposed to but at least we have started to win. The last game in the Turkish Super League was played at Sunday night and won against Ankaragucu at the away field. We have scored 4 goals while we saw a penalty goal in our nets. It was a satisfying winning for this weekend, but the real opposition is the next week with Fenerbahce at Istanbul, Inonu stadium. We are hopping to win...

Besiktas won this week's the most important game against Fenerbahce, the current team which is at the of leauge. Fenerbahce has played like an amateur team against Besiktas' press and wonderful team organisation in the field and couldnt' succeed to attack to Besiktas goalie for 60 mins. Besiktas had played greately and scored in the second half a great goal by Carew and after 8 mins one more goal by Mustafa Dogan, the star of last two weeks. Than the game has changed, Besiktas kept attacking like eagles to fenerbahce but the mistake Ibrahim Uzulmez did was unbelievable, he stopped the ball that was going in to the goalie, he was was shown red card in the right moment, Besiktas played 20mins 1 player less against fenerbahce and this affected to the performance of the team. After all Besiktas won the game against Fenerbahce, 2-1. The playing wish of Besiktas players was adorable during the game. Now it's time to forget the game that has played, and we should think of Athletico Bilbao game which will be played during the week.

WELCOME TO HELL BILBAO

STEAUA-BESIKTAS:2-1

Besiktas played like an amateurish team, did some unbelievable mistakes in the defence and played with 6 wingers... It was Adrean Neaga on 3 mins after Uzulmez Ibrahim gifted the goal... Then a blunder by Asik-Sonkaya-Dogan trio led to the second goal on 20 mins (Cristian Ciocioiu)... It was Danijel Oprita's stupidity to be sent off than Besiktas missed three glorious opportunities before Akin Ibrahim volleyed from close-range to make it 2-1 at a freezing Ghenchaea Stadium...

And more bad news for Besiktas fans... Alieu Carew will miss the rest of the first half of the season after a medical revealed that the Norwegian is out for about 6 weeks...

Romanian fanatics attack Besiktas board at Bucharest

Turkish side Besiktas have threatened to complain to UEFA about an attack by Romanian fans on a minibus carrying club executives after a UEFA Cup match against Steaua Bucharest, a newspaper report said on Friday. The latest incident further soured the mood at the Istanbul club, which was this week ordered to play its next three home matches behind closed doors after a fan was stabbed to death during a match at its Inonu Stadium on Sunday. Hurriyet newspaper said that after Thursday's match Romanian supporters attacked the minibus, which was carrying Besiktas chairman Yildirim Demiroren, with sticks and stones. 'Because of the attack on our minibus we were left helpless in the vehicle for five minutes. There were no police and no gendarmes nearby,' Besiktas spokesman Reha Muhtar said. 'We will make the necessary complaints to UEFA about these incidents ... There is soccer terror everywhere. Something must be done about this.' Nobody from the club was immediately available to comment. The report said the minibus was not given an escort by Romanian officials and only got away when reporters arrived at the scene and the driver drove through the crowd. Steaua Bucharest won the match 2-1, piling additional woe on the Istanbul club, which is currently a lowly 10th in the Turkish first division, 17 points behind leaders Fenerbahce. Besiktas striker John Carew was carried off on a stretcher during Thursday's match and newspaper reports said he could be out of action for two weeks.

Tumer Metin's Football Show at Samsun!

2-4

Experienced Besiktas Attacking Midfielder Tumer Metin who didn't get too many chances from Del Bosque to play this season , showed a great effort in the game where he started as substitute. Besiktas's Silent Star Tumer Metin has achieved a great performance and finished the second half with 2 Assists and 2 Goals. His freekick goal was terrific and probably it will be used by TV programs as a generic for their sport programs. Besiktas played nearly for 60 minutes with 10 men due to the unfair red card shown by referee for Daniel Pancu. The players had to play at %110 performance since than. The first half of game ended with score 0-0. The second half was totally opposite of boring first half of the game. The second half after the substitution of Tumer Metin he has achieved a great success. He assisted the first goal of Besiktas which was scored by Ahmet Hassan. 2 mins after the first goal of Besiktas, Samsunspor won a penalty and scored. About 3 mins after the equalizer Besiktas won a free kick and Tumer Metin was the kicker. He scored a really beautiful goal. After 10 mins of this goal Besiktas won a penalty and the score became 3-1 , The penalty of Besiktas was scored by Tumer Metin as well. After this goal the Referee gave another penalty for Samsunspor which they scored and brought the score of game to 2-3. In the last moments of the game Sergen scored the wonderful assist of Tumer Metin and game ended with the final score of Samsunspor 2 - Besiktas 4. This game was really important for us, we hope to win against Standart Liege in UEFA game which will be played this Thursday.

It was a one-man display at 19 Mayis on Sunday, as ex-Samsunspor player Tumer Metin was enough to outclass his former team...

After a goalless first half, Samsunspor piled on the pressure as the second half got underway but it was Besiktas who took the lead with a skill drill by Tumer was tapped in by the Egyptian Ahmed Hassan on 65'. But two minutes afterwards a stupid handball by Asik Emre gave the chance to the Tunisian Kaies Ghodhbane to level things up from the penalty spot and he easily delivered...

Then, the goals kept coming... A 25-meter free kick from the man of the match Tumer gave Besiktas the lead on 70', but one has to question the positioning of Samsun custodian Inan Kerem...

After 78' it was the referee's part to take the scene and he awarded two penalties both of which included rare contacts. It was on 79' when Tumer scored from the spot to make it a comfortable 1-3 but on 80' Kaies scored his second penalty after Adnan was brought(?) down by Sonkaya Fatih...

After 2-3, Samsunspor tried to find the beat but a string of good saves from Besiktas keeper Ramazan kept them at bay and on 90+1' Besiktas scored their fourth goal after Tumer's cross was easily finished off by Sergen to make it 2-4...

After a disastrous display vs Steaua at Ghencea last Thursday, Besiktas is probably going to play its most crucial game this season... The game against Standard at Inonu will be a determiner of Besiktas' future this season. If they fail to win against Standard, they'll have to beat AC Parma away to progress into third round, which looks like a miracle in my opinion. Vici Del Bosque knows how critical this match is and he really must carefully think before the game... Besiktas cannot have the luxury of fielding out-of-form players tonite as Juanfran, Uzulmez Ibrahim and Sergen are currently way out of form... It was a brilliant one-man-show from Tumer Metin last Sunday vs Samsunspor, when he created two goals not only to score two more to clinch a 4-2 win... Since Alieu Carew is injured and will be unavailable for tonite's game, it will probably be Romanian Daniel Gabriel Pancu and U21 starlet Akin Ibrahim upfront for the Black Eagles... Here's the expected formation for Besiktas in tonite's game...

---------------------------------------Ramco----------------------------------------------

--------------Sonkaya--------Emre----------Mustafa-------------Juanfran :( ---------

--------------Gunes Ali-------Okan----------Tayfun/Sergen-----Tumer---------------

------------------------------Pancu-------------Akin--------------------------------------

my guess for tonite's game is... BESIKTAS:2-1:LIEGE

The last game of the year for Besiktas was played in Izmir against Goztepe in the Turkish FA Cup. The FA Cup is really important for Besiktas this year for the reason that, maybe in order to play in European cup next season, Besiktas will have to win the cup. Besiktas won the game with the goal of Veysel, who didn't have too much chance of playing in the team but made himself today stay in the Besiktas team. The FA cup's this round is just one leg game, so Besiktas is now qualified to the next round...

Here is the goal

I think Besiktas will finish the league 4th or 5th. So will be able to play in UEFA cup. But also they have strenght to gain the FA cup. The only problem : They have no consistency. They have difficulties about merging concentration. I think Besiktas is gonna work for the next years team.

HALF A SEASON'S REVIEW FOR BESIKTAS JK...

Besiktas is as FenerBahce said, very inconsistent. One game they go out and play like the best of Europe (vs Bilbao, FB, Samsun...etc) and in the other game they play crap crap crap soccer (vs Goztepe, GS, Trabzon...etc)... I frankly think that Besiktas needs to get rid of some of their old players... Sergen is too slow at 32 and it's high time he was released... It's now crystal clear that Oscar Cordoba (34) will not play a part as good as Vici Del Bosque is in charge, so he needs to go as well in order to free up space for a foreign player. Ronaldo (32) and Juanfran (28) will be released soon if no bidders take the stage for them... The elder guys who should remain are Buruk Okan (31), Tumer Metin (29), Uzulmez Ibrahim (30) and Asik Emre (30) in my opinion... Dogan Mustafa (29) needs to go as he does not have the ability to be even a bit part of this Besiktas team... And Besiktas have Cagdas Atan (24) and Toraman Ibrahim (22), who can play two of the central back positions... It's a hard selection between Ramazan Kurshunlu (22) and Sahin Murat (27) but Del Bosque takes his side with the youth of Ramazan and I have to say I agree with him, but I would still give the gloves to a well-experienced Oscar who once I believed to be the best goalkeeper in Turkish League... Despite being young, Sonkaya Fatih (23) should be loaned out for six months cause he still is nowhere near his potential as a right-back... Goktan Berkant (24), Ali Gunes (26) and Cihan Veysel (28) should all stay, at least as back-ups... I also believe that Berkant should be given his chance cause he can be a franchise-player, a player to be a key for the squad... He was never given a solemn chance at Galatasaray and I think he deserves to be given a six-month's chance... Besiktas' most impressive games were the ones against Fenerbahce and Athletic Club, which they ironically played in four days' time. Besiktas had the worst performance of the season when they met Steaua at Ghenchea Stadium in Bucuresti... The most disappointing players were Sonkaya Fatih, Juanfran, Sergen Yalcin and Korkut Tayfun... There were no so great performances but Alieu Carew, Ali Gunes, Uzulmez Ibrahim and Akin Ibrahim were among the most consistent... A first-half evaluation of players would be as follows:

1 CORDOBA: ? played in one game and was pretty much OK...

21 RAMAZAN: 6.5 too short for a keeper and woeful at side balls but performed well in some games

29 MURAT: 5.5 no credentials as a first-team keeper but tried his best

2 ASIK EMRE: 7 consistent in most games.bad news is that he's still at Maldives

28 DOGAN: 6.5 too freaky in UEFA Games but no problems in the league

58 TORAMAN: 6 did not play much but when he did, he had no flaws recorded

6 CAGDAS: 6.5 played in some critical games and ..uh.. undecided about him!

5 RONALDO: ? already parted ways with the club, a loss in my opinion.

25 SONKAYA: 4.5 played for a good period but is still overweight and with no solidity

30 ALI: 6.5 started the season much better than expected but finished at his lowest

19 UZULMEZ: 7 woeful against Steaua but was the solidest guy still...

14 JUANFRAN: 3.5 torrid time... his Istanbul days are over, for sure...

3 HAVUTCU: ? the skipper played for short periods not to be commented on at all

4 YILDIRIM AHMET: 6 hard to comment on, one game wonderful the other horrible

7 BURUK: 7 handled the midfield superbly in most games but not as good as GS days

8 BERKANT: 6.5 played little did great. needs some body strength...

10 SERGEN: 4.5 effects the team's pace in the wrong direction, at the wrong side of 33

20 TAYFUN: 4 poorest performance in his entire career...

17 DOBRA: ? where's he going in January???

77 AHMED HASSAN: 5.5 tries his best but he's played in five different positions!

9 GABRIEL PANCU: 7 best forward in BJK but forgotten by Vici for most of the time

23 CAREW: 6 scored a bunch of goals but not as effective as expected him to be of

11 TUMER: 7.5 also forgotten by Vici but when he took part, he tore defences apart

55 AKIN: 6.5 just like Ali... started on a high but to little effect...

50 VEYSEL: ? willing to remain in the team.is a task solving guy... should remain!

--- VICENTE DEL BOSQUE --- still getting to know his players. knows that the season is already over and looks to strengthen the roster for the 2005-06 season!

yet another bizzarre decision by Besiktas Board is that Vicente Del Bosque is sacked just a few days before the second part of the season started!!! I saw the news in SKYturk and just before the Real Madrid - Efes, Euroleague Group game!!! :( i really feel for the guy, he was given a rubbish team plus Carew and all he could do was a fifth-place finish in SuperLig in the first half...

Good Luck Mr Gentlemen!!!
