Irlandos
Turkey and Greece will compete in the same qualification group for the World Cup 2006 championship. It is unlikely that the same friendly atmosphere will continue in their first encounter on September 8. I'll settle for a "civilised" atmosphere on that date!

Blackeagle
Turkish and Greek fans celebrated Greece`s European 2004 Championship title into the night last night. Turkish and Greek fans enjoying their holidays in Turkey watched the final match of Euro 2004 between Portugal and Greece in Istanbul on a huge screen. Some 500 Turkish and Greek fans holding Greek and Turkish flags and banners voiced support for their neighbor Greece and sat side by side and watching the final game with great excitement. Greece edged out host Portugal 1-0 in the final match of Euro 2004 thanks to Angelos Haristeas`s 57th minute winner. Greek Mega TV live broadcasted the Turkish and Greek fans watching the final match that brought the best achievement in international soccer history to Greece. Fans began dancing and celebrations followed the final whistle of the referee. The cheering reached its peak when drums began to beat and Turkish and Greek fans began to dance their traditional folks dances arm in arm.
