This lays out a path to calm - basically a win by us and a loss by Diagoras next match day will be enough to see us through. That will be against Niki Volos on the 12th (though for some reason google's match calendar keeps saying 13th for all these games).

I wasn't aware of the possible points deduction too; I guess that would seal the deal and mean we only need one win or two draws out of these last three.

PAOK B is safe.

As Kavala and Diagoras meet eachother on the final MD one of them (assuming both win on the second to last MD) will finish behind PAOK either with less points either with the same points based on the rules for classification: 1) Points; 2) Regular season position. PAOK finished above them in the regular season.

Bravo sta pedia!

I had forgotten about this guy and his Watford connection, even though I do remember seeing Hurtado in some pictures recently.

11 goals and two assists in 19 games is pretty badass. His more detailed stats are before - seven of those goals were scored before year-end, and two of them were in the last game. So I guess he did drop off. Three million to buy him is kind of a lot (and I won't comment on the behavioral issue the article claims). Oh well, at least the team avoided relegation.

Still, what was the purpose to get him on a loanbase for the B-team? As a bargain if playing for the A-team what never was going to happen with Lucescu at the helm. Especially whit his buy out clause of 3 mil. this scenario was written in the stars.

You're right. That is a VERY high price to buy the kid; he would have had to score like 40 goals to get us to jump on him. I also doubt Lucescu even watches those games; he probably just begrudgingly accepts a handful of B team players to fill out the headcount in the summer training camp and once in a while through the season.

Only waterpolo is possible today as the pitch is drowned due to heavy rainfall. Match is postponed to tomorrow and the kick off is (again) 14:45 EEST.

0-0.

Hurtado sent off with two yellows. The first after only 9 seconds. His second in the 47th minute.

A goodbye that reminds me a bit to Zinedine Zidane (though not that violent).

1-1.

Smirlis 0-1 in 89'

Sapovalov (former PAOK B) 1-1 in 90+6

Diagoras relegated (with Ethnikos N. Keramidiou)

In the end we actually won the Relegation Group finishing first:

1. PAOK Thessaloniki  'B'     23 points
2. Kavala        22
3. Niki Volos   22
4. Diagoras    19
5. Ethnikos Neou Keramidiou   5

This means that we have a secured spot in Superleague 2 for next season. We are the only remaining 'B' team that is still taking part in SL2 since AEK 'B' and Tripoli 'B' were relegated. According to rules they can be replaced by another 'B' team that is top rated in the U19 league, which in this case is Olympiakos.

It is still unknown what format the next SL will be. There is talk of a single group with 20 teams, but that has not been decided yet.
