OK. Still some SL-clubs manage to get eliminated in this group-format. Veria and Panionios (!) were eliminated in their groups. Aris and Kissamikos progress at the expence of one of the SL-clubs in their group.

The group stage is not good for the smaller teams. Look how PAO got through for example. A better team has better chances to advance over a longer game schedule. One knockout game may give more incentive to smaller teams to fight against a much bigger opponent.

I'd also be in favor of the cup giving an advantage to 2nd division teams and have them play at home against div. 1 teams. in other words, the teams from lower divisions should get home advantage.  If teams draw from same division then it should be random.

Of course, 1 knockout game favors the smaller teams.

And than there will always be our beloved EPO. Making rules that a normal Football Association would not make. In any other country PAO would have been eliminated.

Isn't that a shocker? It's almost as if it were on purpose, that the top half of the teams did not get drawn against each other.

Also it was announced by EPO that the final will be played at a neutral venue, which means that if AEK makes it to the final it will not be played at OAKA.
