val Posted September 4, 2015 Share Posted September 4, 2015 In the U17, 19's the competition is easy. Even if they excel at the u21, the jump to the senior squad seems all but impossible. He is blessed with a good first touch and dribbling but decision making is just as important. Berg should be the understudy of every young kid in this country. @4:13 in the video, he has three options and he plays it safe opting to pass to the guy to his far right, allowing the defense to settle. Why not try feed the other two in front? Okay so it's a riskier pass but, if successful he puts them through on goal. It's just little things like that... Bananas Posted September 5, 2015 Share Posted September 5, 2015 Very common issue Val. Fact is a lot of "kids" can't make the jump, or they need a while to get used to the difference. Club football is different today and clubs aren't going to be patient. The best thing is to loan them out. There is no substitute for 1st team football.
