We are playing to get into league A yes. The QF/SF/F is for league A teams only. There is no automatic qualifier for the World Cup. Think of it as a glorified friendly tournament.

Not sure what is better, losing and getting a better chance at winning a League 2 group for Euro 2028, or winning and moving to League A. UEFA really needs to do something like all League A teams get in pot 1 or something.

All teams in Nations League playoffs will be drawn in 4 team WCQ group. That means we will get drawn with either Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Denmark, Croatia, Netherlands, Belgium. Based on this, I don't think its possible to get Austria or Switzerland as our pot 1 opponent. Give me Denmark, Croatia, or Belgium as our POT 1 opponent. The draw will be on November 22nd. The only team we want to avoid will be Belgium. The other choices are Poland/Scotland , Hungary, Serbia/Denmark.
