Whilst we have a big squad in theory, it is clear who the main 1st team players are and who the squad/Fringe players are. A good coach will always know his best 11 and who to bring in based on requirements. Rotation for rotations sake is a recipe for disaster. The team needs cohesion and this can only be achieved by players playing together regularly. I am all for tweaking game to game, which is what Ivic seems to be doing btw, rather than wholesale changes, which is what Huub Stevens did and stuffed us. Save that for cup games against village teams.

Thiam showed me enough with his touches and movement that he will be an asset to us this year...it was no coincidence that Rodrigues improved when he came on

Very disappointing we couldn't land a genuine striker. Combination of reasons. 1. Genuine top players ain't coming to the GSL (tier 3 league argument) 2. Paok only willing to pay a certain amount based on their valuation of the player. 3. Because of 1&2, players are holding out for offers from teams in higher ranked leagues. 4. Paok waited too long to land a striker. Unlike other positions which we stitched up relatively early. This in my book is gross negligence by the club. Their wait and see approach has backfired on many occasions over the years. 5. Unlike what the press reports would have us believe, Saviddi is not a big spender on the team. He will not pay the extra required to land genuine quality. He puts in an amount each year and sees where it takes us and then some more during the winter break when panic sets in. 6. We are Paok. We are not Oly or PAO. Rightly or wrongly we are not seen as a big club by outsiders. Therefore takes a lot more convincing to get players in. Only way to do that is to start becoming successful (ie. winning league, going deeper into Europe). See point 5.

I agree with Boston here... Right now all those LEAGUES are better than the Greek league. You can point to a couple of teams and say yeah we can compete... but I think most of our teams would be relegated from the top leagues no problem and our top teams would be mid table at best

Apparently Lubos is looking at a player from a high profile club on a loan deal... Vasquez , Micou and Tiam are part of the plan b...We may even end up with 2 of these guys...Jairo is being lined up for PAS

Vasqeuz may not be what many consider to be a BAM but he's exactly the right age for Paok and whilst he hasn't been a goal scoring machine in Spain it should translate to more goals in Greece. Hope we get him over the line, he will fit in nicely.
