  1. Ι told u guys before that Im quitting the NT for a period of time. Of course imma be folowing but not watching the matches and not being pressured about results either. I am at erasmus in fckin Lithuania and there is obviously no place that people would say "Hey lets watch bosna - grekija match." so it helped me not be interested in the mathes. I was making out with a czech sorta gf I found here and I checked the gazzetta livescore commentatory at 2-0 and said meh I don't care anyways. After about 2 hours I saw the match ended 2-2 and well, let's just say that I went for round 2 and I am a guy that never goes round 2. Guess I can't help it. Im too much into the National Team.
  2. Stop calling Mitroglou lazy. Look at his important goals. Of course the problem of having a targetman is that he needs proper service. Fortounis can give it to him but when the whole defence has to focus on 2 players guess what, they re utterly outnumbered. His class is obvious from the fact that he keeps scoring even though he is always marked. You could see at 2nd goal that Nobody gave a f*ck about Kolovos. They didn't even expect him to do that move he made to get in front of teammate (I think Koulouris) and defender and take the cross for himself. They didn't know his style of play. I don't rate Kolovos, even after that. Even though his header was the defitinion of "it was in from the moment it left his head" type of header. Mitroglou needs proper wingers who will run down the opposition and tire the enemy defenders. It's not a matter of laziness, but he always presses opposition when he is asked to. I am honestly still waiting for that 3-5-2 on our full level. I think the coach is hoping for something like that when we dont have injuries. Vlachodimos (terrible match for him in my opinion) 2nd goal is 80% his fault even tho the wall was probably just misscommunication, He could still save it he is better than that. Siovas is a soldier. Good back up for our top 3. Retsos Manolas and Stafylidis are missing from the defence. Koutris is fine offensively so 3-5-2 suits both of our Left Backs. I don't like Bakakis. I think he is a player who produces up to 6 and can never get past it. Sokratis is a leader and a realist. He sais we are s%$#! at this point and the team's efforts prove that we are working our way from the bottom and not the other way around. Samaris Zeka Kourbelis seem the most decent midfield we ve had the last couple of years. I'd like to see Kourbelis try himself in a better team maybe get a more competitive mentality and confidence, as well as recognition. Put Mitroglou and Fortounis up front and I think this is our best tam currently with Donis as a SS. I think a 3-6-1 works great vs better opposition with wingerbacks on the wings. Or 4-4-1-1. But I believe versus teams like Liechtenstein and Armenia we totally need a 4-2-3-1. I would like to see the introduction of Lazaros Lamprou,Bouzoukis, Chatzigiovanis and Lhmnios in the men's side. Second match vs Liectehstein at home we could sort of experiment I guess. So a 3-6-1 could be like Vlachodimos Retsos - Sokratis -Manolas Torosidis - Samaris - Zeka - Kourbelis - Stafylidis Fortounis Mitroglou A 4-4-1-1 could be like Vlachodimos Toro - Sokratis - Manolas - Stafylidis Zeka - Samaris Kourbelis - Donis/Stafylidis/Koutris Fortounis Mitroglou And of course a 4-2-3-1 vs weaker opposition (probably needs testing before using - and my personal preference Vlachodimos Toro - Sokratis - Manolas - Stafylidis Samaris - Zeka Masouras/Lamprou - Fortounis - Donis Mitroglou I left Kourbe out of the midfield because he is more defensively minded than the others and well, this is more like a lineup vs weak states to secure scoring opportunities and maximum possible pressure against their weak defence.
  3. Lazaros was good for 2 months with Aek and for the qualifiers of the Europa League with Olympiakos. He is already 33 and there is no point to field a 33 year old. We have promising players like Lamprou and Limnios.
  4. What's the problem with u and fckin lazaros he sucks. Mitroglou is gonna be a big miss. Biggest ones in my opinion will be Retsos at a 3 CB scheme and Manolas. I think we can scrap a 0-0 there.
  5. Jesus is Physio. You seen the job he done with Lazarus? Brought that m@therf@ back from the ded Panayia is the coach.
  6. Stop commenting bros. If sky is the limit then my line-up is as blue as the sky. Get some 3-5-2 like the one I said or something like this Mr Anastasiades please: Άγιος Ιωάννης ο Βαπτιστής Άγιος Αντώνιος - Άγιος Ελευθέριος - Αγία Μαρίνα Αι - Γιώργης - Αγία Παρασκευή - Άγιος Νεκτάριος - Απόστολος Πέτρος Παναγία η Πορτοκαούσα Άι Νικόλαος - Παίσιος
  7. Toro injured Stafy injured I am telling u aderfia go hard or go home 3-5-2 SMELLS LIKE TIME FAWR SOOM 3 F@@CKING 5 F@@CKING 2 Vlachodimuller Sergio Siovas - Papapapapapasokrates - Kostas the not so injured Manolas Lamprou the quite promising - Portuguese dark skinned dude - Samaris the Reborn - Masouras the sorta promising Fortounis the pretty much all we got with creativity Mitroglou the hot guy - Donis the "I only score vs Bayern" LETS GO BOIZ A SIMPLE 6-0 VS LIECHTENSTEIN AND MAYBE A NARROW 1-0 VS BOSNIA AND WE IN THE EUROS. Simple as... Also does anyone know if I can buy the match from anywhere? I live in Lithuania currently.
  8. A product of Greek football deserves to play for the same National Team. ^ This is the only mentality we need to follow. We really do not have many greek football products who play in different positions other than Centerback so we should take this. Its exactly the same mentality I have for the French and Belgium NTs. All these players learned how to kick a ball at the European country they represent.
  9. I actually Agree that they re not that big yet to need to hurry up with the process of "nationalizing" them, but I ask you this. If they actually end up good and we go hunting on them to join us, then what? They are BOTH products of Greek football, Greek academies, They re both in Greece for over ~20 years (Durmisaj came here when he was 4,5), they both speak Greek. So I am all set for them to get called, even if they don't στεριώσουν with the team. Noone cried about Ninis back then, Holebas either. C'mon. Vlachodimos is not that Greek either but noone is complaining, in fact you were crying for the coaches not picking him.
  10. Lamprou just keep scoring at every match. He isdefinately ready. Chatzigiovanis and Bouzoukis I want to see more of them with a more decent team to decide. Limnios is ready for sure. Id like to see Lamprou - Mitroglou - Limnios and fortounis as attacking midfielder. Quick team but new team. We ll see how it goes. Based on form I think Samaris , Fortounis , Mitroglou (assisted over the weekend and scored previous one), Sokratis, Manolas(probably will be okay on time), Vhachodimos, Zeka, Donis are gonna be the 8/11 starters. Sure call ups probably include Siovas,Torosidis, Koutris. Stafylidis and Retsos are injured and Im sure we would totally need them in our campaign, they would be probably starters. So I think the other 3 spots, Winger and fullbacks are probably gonna be between Lamprou, Limnios for the wings and Koutris,Tsimikas,Torosidis for the fullbacks. If Stafylidis and Retsos are back on time I'd take them instead especially at the match vs Bosnia. Tachtsidis playing well in Serie B. Hopefully his team promotes so he can get back to Serie A level. Id love to see some youth in these call ups. I think Tzavellas, Maniatis,Lampropoulos being out of the picture and Pelkas,Mantalos being injured will open up space for other players to come.
  11. You dont put a Left Back as right back unless you have to. Koutris will not be our Right back. Rrather have Retsos or Bakakis.
  12. I agree actually but the national team has been having fullbacks after the 2004 era who were mediocre at best defensively. Holebas was like Koutris in his youth, offensively too good but mediocre defensively AT BEST. This is exactly the reason why IMHO putting a 3rd CB could be able to unlcok our fullbacks full potential. They have the lungs to track back when needed and they ll have the free choice to move forward and cross or man to man which unironically Koutris is too good at. Our NT's biggest problem is actually the transition. Getting the ball forward quickly. These guys are good offensively and they can definately help with that. It's gonna be like we have 2 extra midfielders on the wings and 2 more options for Fortounis to pass to and not have to go back to take the ball and carry it himself. However, the biggest issue we have to hope is that at least one or two of the guys we have on the wings actually make a career we hope them to make , Lamprou, Limnios, Chatzigiovanis, Bouzoukis. I would be quite devastated if they all ended up Greek Super League flops. Even Koulouris and Donis, we should hope they dont get suddently lost to mediocricy. I believe there is actually a lot of talent which if managed properly (Managers guiding them for a good career and not for some extra cash in their pockets and coaches properly teaching them how to play the damn ball) I can see us back on track with our previous success decade, where we barely missed any major tournament.
  13. Drop Pelkas on the wings and Lazaros in general. Just drop him . 34 year old winger what exactly are we expecting from him? 3-5-2 Vlachodimos Manolas - Sokratis Siovas Retsos - Samaris - Zeka - Stafylidis Fortounis Mitroglou - Donis Can easily sub a CB off if we re hunting a score and change it to 4-2-3-1 Subs/Rotation: GK: Kapino(this guy is honestly a good GK but no playtime, Give him time and he ll show), Karnezis, Paschalakis Fullbacks:Holebas(starter if he comes of course)Koutris, and if they re injured we got Giannoulis/Lykogiannits/Tsimikas. I honestly cant think of a decent Right back. Bakakis has proven to be a borderline flop. Torosidis needs to come as the leader of this team and the guy who s joined 2 Euro cups and 2 World cups with the team. Centerbacks: I think all of our 4 decent and ready CBs are in the lineup. Probably trying to introduce players like Mavropanos,Hatzidiakos, maybe Risvanis and Hatziisaias as well. No point to call mediocre players like Kolovetsios,Oikonomou at their late 20s. Risv and Hatzi are also 25 and still havent shown to be anything too good like Retsos and Manolas proved from their youth. Kyriakos is also an option but he seemed a bit few vs Croatia and Bosnia/Italy are in our Group. Midfield: Well apart from Kourbelis, Galanopoulos and maybe Tachtsidis if he decides to restart his career properly. He is actually performing quite well in Serie B and they re on their way for promotion. He is good when used with quick wingers and a tower in the midfield but he is just another mediocre at best player. Having noone else though makes him look like a luxury. AMFs-Wingers: Pelkas, Masouras,Chatzigiovanis,Bouzoukis, Limnios, Lamprou, and follow Vrousai career coz the others have been here and there for a a couple of years producing consistently. CF: Koulouris This is a group of around 34 players and I wouldnt pick any more at all. Atleast till the end of this season. Some of the youth will probably be introduced now because there is no U-21 qualifiers and they were always called for the matches from Nikopolidis to qualify for U21.
  14. Whoever follows GSL knows Masouras since 2 years ago at Panionios. Same goes for Lamprou kid was tryharding to keep Iraklins on the first division on his own, and last year he was the top scorer of a devastated panionios, after selling every worthy player.
  15. Apart from : Galanopoulos in the midfield Masouras, Lamprou( i ve been talking about him long before he started producing so well in Netherlands, Its not like Im blindfolded from some youth scoring some goals), Limnios on the wings, Maybe Vrousai if he gets chances in bigger teams/leagues. Koutris on the back Koulouris We have noone else to introduce to the team for the next 1,5 year. Hopefully the Sokratis/Manolas duo still stands till the Euros. Torosidis missing will be a huge problem but Retsos can stay there in the matches vs better opponents and he is defensively good. I prefer Stafylidis as a starter his team is doing s%$#! but the fact that immediately after his injury he was given a starter spot and barely misses playing time shows he s worhty of midable bundesliga. Id like a 3-5-2 since our fullbacks are either too good offensively and mediocre on the back( Koutris,Stafylidis- even holebas with his so rumored return) . No proper right back with torosidis actually seeming too little even for Olympiakos back up, so maybe put a winger on the right with lungs and man to man like Limnios. Definately sub him after 60 because he ll be dead. Hope Anastasiadis changes stuff. Even if it doesnt end up as we d like to. I think this team needs a restart. I wouldnt judge him bad if he failed trying to change. I would criticise a lot if he kept the same s%$#! and hoped something changed on its own.
  16. Im just more realistic guys. This team has mentality issues (obviously) and Sokratis is not as he was 4 years ago. Settle it. Stats speak for themselves. We got scored nothing 4 years go compared to what this team concedes now. New coach would better get a new scheme with lots ofCBs coz we really got goodones Team will go down more certain for themselves now for sure. This Group is unironically a blessing. Teams like Russia, Croatia, Germany in pot 2 were avoided. What type of mentality exactly SHOULD I have (unironically) with this team's latest results (its currently 4 years the team is underperforming with a decent run in 2018 WC).
  17. Mitroglou never ran anyways so he can keep playing till 35. He is already past 35 in footballer years based on his athleticism.
  18. Best line up is this Manolas Sokratis Retsos Torosidis - Kourbelis - Stafylidis/Koutris Zeka Fortounis Mitroglou Donis 3-5-2 get past anything else for now. EDIT: I just saw that Dean posted the same lineups with only Torosidis (he is still a game changer at Olympiakos tho so I give him +1 year at least) and 3rd CB different. Nibbas Im honestly telling you you need to enjoy watching the NT more than being obsessed with it making it. Right now we re in no position to ask. Their limit is finishing 3rd.
  19. Does he really get the job done when we get scored 2 from Finns, Hunns, 1 from Estonia? I am really not so sure anymore. 2014 qualyfing was 12 goals for and 4 against (3 in our only loss in that campaign and one meme penalty from latvia). Right now we get scored 6 vs terrible teams like these and you people don't get it yet. The best hting to do is to quit this team for a few years till it bounces. Although I am also hoping for a surprise as well in the qualifiers.
  20. Yes Sokratis is declining. Still good though you can't blame him for everything on such an Arsenal Defence. Team finishing 4th is gonna be a huge accomplishment with Aubemeyang and Lacazzette showing up once every month. Center forward Aubameyang touched the ball 10 times last day and 6 were free kicks. Torreira didn't show up yesterday and he sold the ball in at least 3 goals out of 5. I still like Sokratis. With the NT at least, he is producing. And Retsos has already been included in the team so his starting spot won't come late. As for Lamprou. People who followed the Panathinaikos Academies knew him since he was 15. He played as striker there tho. Anyways. He got a future ahead of him. Masouras , Lamprou, Siopis were all key factors for Panionios being competitive last year and the year before. Paok imho made a mistake to not keep Lamprou and keep Warda. But they re both excellent players for Greece level if you ask me. As for chatzigiovanis and Bouzoukis, their playing talks for themselves.
  21. Your comment is probably the only one that's demanding an answer. Lazaros was s%$#!. The end. Let's take a look at his career with the NT. I ll start with the goals: 1 vs Fkin Lithuania. Fetfa was s%$#!. The end. He was all about pace and dribble and fancy. He couldn't make a move at open space. Lamprou can. Limnios can. He can't You lot (me included) were the ones bashing Santos for not kicking "useless slow" Katsouranis and players like Vydra,Lymperopoulos,Tziolis from the team and suddently someone being at his 32-32 with a finished career that never really peaked any more than the average Big Greek team player, is someone we should hang on to? Where the f is Christodoulopoulos now? At Oly. Olympiakos literally paied him for 2 matches at Europe where he was MVP and I haven't heard him since. And we all know Martins is gonna finish the season without him, since they are already moving for a new winger. Fetfatzidis has been s%$#! for Olympiakos and his finishing has not been any better from when he was a youth prospect. Lamprou, Limnios , Masouras should be given a chance. Waiting for them to take it at 30 is no good.
  22. People still talking about Lazaros at his 32. You guys forget too easily. Christodoulopoulos has been s%$#! for us. Even Fetfatzidis has been performing better than him with the NT. He was mediocre last season. He is s%$#! now. He only has 2 years left. Get the f*ck over him it's not your ex to be so obsessed with him. We have decent keepers. Decent CBs currently and promising youngs on their positions. DecentLBs(Stafy,Koutris probably the duo we continue with) We have a good defensive 6 in Kourbelis(if only he wasn't injured all the time) Promising 8 in Galanopoulos Our best player is Fortounis and is probably a very good 10 wastinghis time with olympiakos. Strikers in Mitroglou,Koulouris. Donis can stand as SS/ winger. Whole Pao team promising as f*ck. Why you tryna to predict the future tho? After the 2-0 loss to finland I realised that it's too unhealthy to follow the NT obssesively. We re on our down and that takes time. I am not expecting us to qualify from this group. Finishing 3rd is realistic. Team needs a turnover in mentality that's our bigger issue we could stomp the Bosnians on a good day and definately can get a couple of points from uninterested Italy.
  23. Imagine a Poland Czech Republic Finland Greece Group we can take 2 draws to Poland and win all others.
  24. Pot 1 :Switzelrland, Poland, Netherlands possibly Pot 2: Ukraine, Russia, Iceland, Wales, Cz Republic, Bosnia aint unbeatable either, so is Austria Pot 3: Finland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Bulgaira , Scotland It's not as sad as you make it look like. I dont believe we should be here but there are also teams that shouldnt be higher htan us as well.
  25. I agree. I think we need to focus on upcomming talent though. I want to see proper wingers on the wings, but the U-21 has the smae dates the SENIOR nt HAS. Lazaros Lamprou, Tsimikas, Limnios, Hatzidiakos are all the future of this team and trust me , once the u21 gets disqualified in 1-2 days, they re gonna start getting called up.
