  1. What about Iakovidis in the weightlifting, does he have an outside chance?
  2. Rafaela came 5th in her heat so i think she is out? is that right? An then we have Triple jump tonight with Voula Papaxristou
  3. Very possible 2 medals in 1 day. 🤞
  4. Same here ziaka They did only lose in the tiebreaker but i thought that they would be a chance for a medal to be honest. Ashleigh Barty is a very good tennis player though, i think she's no1 in the world at the moment, and sometimes in the mixed doubles the stronger woman player can turn a game. Maria Sakkari played pretty well though, i think she will improve over the next year or two and maybe start to make it deep into grand slam tournaments. She's a rising star for greece.
  5. *olympic best, which i think means at this current olympic games otherwise it would say OR not OB might me wrong, someone who knows more than me please correct me lol
  6. Bravo Stefanos! what a performance
  7. I guess no one has posted his goal from last week, its in the highlight reel (first arsenal goal)
  8. Any team will keep putting 3 or more defenders on Yiannis as long we we are shooting 20% or less The key for Greece (and the Bucks) is dropping in shots from outside the paint which will force the defense to open up and then Yiannis will be unleashed. In the 1st Qtr against USA Greece were shooting well, and we kept the score close, and Yiannis played well and when he did most of his damage in that game. Then in the 2nd quarter nothing seemed to sink and before you know it, Yiannis (our only threat at that point) is just taken out of the game. The Bucks had this exact problem in the playoffs
  9. yeah we can beat the czechs by 8, we cant shoot that low % again surely
  10. why do the Aussie commentators keep saying that Greece are out if they lose this? Is that the case?
  11. Yeah looking at the 2nd round format (i hadn't looked at it in depth til now) you're totally right, results carry over and you only play the 2 teams you havent yet. So yeah we are relying on results to favour us,. strange format
  12. Or Greece can just take matters in their own hands and Beat USA, Brasil and Turkey and then we go through
  13. hminkema, we are not whining about the Ajax players, we whine about the referee's decisions. Why are you in here defending against the ref? Your team won the match. I think it was a nice game. I didn't see anything overtly "rough" definitely nothing that would warrant 2 red cards, you're cooked mate. Stop complaining about strong, clean challenges in a match of football, they are footballers not fairies. You coming in here complaining about our keeper making a strong but clean challenge to clear a ball or whatever it is you say is just silly. Stop it. Congrats on the win.
  14. The first 10 minutes of this game is getting more confusing the longer this half goes on. Why were we playing so scared???
  15. we asked for that but how did that get past everyone so easily? edit: oh its an o.g. makes sence now
  16. we are playing very deep in our half and not pressing much, i thought we'd be less defensive than this
  17. Was it the Zagorakis send off match or Karagounis? Cant remember but we played a friendly with them not all that long ago. But this is competitive so yeah more at stake
  18. Yeah, i get your angle on this however I don't think it is reasonable to condemn the Prime Minister of a country for discouraging criminal acts. He called it un Australian to discourage that form of protest. We might have to agree to disagree on this one but I completely agree with this comment. I mean, imagine the right wing protesters start reverting to violence or illegal activities in retaliation. Oh wait, they do. (Charlotte etc). My comment "Wake up" was referring to waking up to the reality that there are other political views that are just as legitimate as social democracy. Regarding "the people" yes that is a term traditionally describing the working class. However see the last USA election, how the working classes are switching to the message that Trump was trying to get across. The Democratic party seems to be drifting away from its roots - helping the middle class blue collar workers get a fair shake and has moved further left and the message resonates more with millennials than it does the middle aged factory worker. The election results echoed this. But i agree with everything you said, regardless. Just that some of "the people" feel like they haven't been heard under the Obama admin and decided that their voices might be better heard if they jumped ship. Which they did.
  19. On the Scomo "un-australian" comment I still don't think you understand. He wasn't calling the protest unaustralian, just the way they went about it. In other words he was calling the criminal act of breaking, entering and disturbing the peace "un-australian" Regarding people not thinking like me are not part of the same reality, first when did i say that? I agree wholeheartedly and absolutely love debate, discussion and questioning. This is how Democracy thrives. Socratic Method. Question. Offend. Critique. I welcome healthy debate. Your Plato quote i could etch into my skin. Your comment earlier "It seems that everywhere one turns, it's a right wing full frontal attack to the voice of the people." If there is a mass of people swinging Right, then aren't they also "the people" ? or can only the liberal left be labeled "the people" ? Don't both sides of the spectrum deserve a say? Isn't that the very essence of democracy? Balance.
