Tommorow's draw is only for the Football League teams.

Yesterday they told the reporters that Arnesen left Thessaloniki for Austria in order to fulfill his duties as a commentator for the Danish NT TV broadcast. Instead he was in England putting the finishing touches on the Berbatov deal. At least that's what I heard on radio this morning. Also it is reported that we somehow managed to change the list of players for the Europa League, which now includes Berbatov as well. That is great news in itself.

I would venture to say that his signing is one of the biggest ones in Greek soccer history. It's definitively up there with Rivaldo, etc.

I added Berbatov to the list and changed my vote accordingly.

He is on the team as is the kid Siabanis. All 4 keepers were also included in the EL list of players.

Now that the transfer period is over, lets see what PAOK's did. We got rid of a lot of dead wood and expensive contracts. I think that was the number one goals set by Savvidis when he signed Arnesen. We made around 10 acquisitions, mostly young players that have a possibility to become good players. As far as I am concerned if only half of those players develop into solid players and starters, than I think this transfer period will be a great success. The only thing that worries me is the fact that we did not bolster our defense, and that we left Klaus as the only experienced true forward on the team. However that is something that can be fixed in January 2016 if needed. Since the one big goal for this season has already been achieved (GS of EL and the UEFA money), Arnesen will probably move slowly building the team for the future.

About the same.

As far as I can remember it was some PAOK reporter that claimed Savvidis will give Arnesen 20 mil for transfer, which basically means that it could be a made up figure to sell papers and get clicks on their web site.

There is a crazy rumor going around that we are making last minute effort for Berbatov. Who know how true it is.

In my case, I was treated very well, and my pizza was comped. I am sure it helped that the owners are from the same general area as may parents, and also that there are some ties to this forum. B)

Is his name Vasilis?

I'll allow it on a temporary basis. :D Churlishness? Is that even a word in the English language?

I think we are changing transfer strategy. Before we used to acquire players that score on us in European competitions. Now we are going to be loaning players to teams so they can score on us. :D

I think that is one of the bigger problems facing Arnesen and Tudor. Add to the mix the sleazy Thessaloniki sports radio stations and press with agendas, and you have a recipe for disaster. I only hope that Savvidis comes out and says, no matter what the results are, this year we are starting to rebuild the team and Arnesen and Tudor are not going anywhere.

After we went down 2:0 the game was pretty much over, and the team accepted the fate. The red card didn't make matters any easier. We did not play as bad as the score would suggest. Sure their first goal was a cheap giveaway by the goalie and our defense (3 CB's watching, while PAS player heads the ball in). Right after the goal the team bounced back and had at least 5 clear cut chances to score. Never mind the fact that Giachos missed a hand ball which should have been a penalty right after their goal. The score could have easily been 3:1 for us by half-time. Anyway the Sabo own goal basically took the wind out of the team. Time to regroup during the break, and get ready for the rest of the season which will be a long affair. As for Olsen (and Glykos), it might be time to send them a message by starting the 3rd stringer in our next game.

Cool story gdkmangosalsa. Speaking of pizza. For you Boston area based PAOKtzides, if you're in the Cranston, RI area and have a taste for a good pizza, I recommend Basil's Pizza. Tell them you're PAOK fans from the Phantis PAOK Forum and they will take care you. Ask for Vasili. B)

Lazar got injured in today's AEP - Panionios game. The Pontoii had great hopes for him, but even his last season at PAOK he was mostly injured.

PAOK's fate will be decided in the first three rounds in my opinion. If we managed to win at Qabala, get a point with Dortmund at home and then beat Krasnodar at home, we should be in very good shape. Unfortunately I see Krasnodar giving us a lot problems. I think the second place will be decided between us and the Russians.

They also control Skondras and Konstantinidis. As for Koulouris, he was called the next Klaus, after one great game, and it must have gone to his head. He got few chances to prove himself, but he didn't. Loan might actually do him some good. Just look at Pelkas. Also Deligiannidis is suposed to be more talented than Koulouris, but he was plagued by injuries. Hopefully he will get some playing time to show what he's got.

I voted for Arnesen, without whom most of the players on the list would be missing. If I had to pick one player, I would say Charisis long term wise. I think he will become a great player down the road.
-
Pelkas is injured. He might get his chance eventually. Well deserved call up for Kitsiou. I would also give Konstantinidis a try if I was the NT coach.
