  1. I'm confused - I thought the ultimatum by FIFA was related to all levels of international competition, including the ethniki - was I wrong on that? Or is our team in the s%$#! house only after April 1st (and how does that effect other friendlies, like vs Australia)?

UEFA/FIFA never came out spelling what the exact consequences will be. All they did was sent a warning that there will be some if the cup competition is not played.

  2. I hope UEFA/FIFA and IOC bans all our teams and athletes. Nothing better than one corrupted organization punishing other corrupted organizations.

As it is I think this "UEFA will ban our teams from Europe" is nothing but a scare tactic used by EPO every time they are under pressure. For once I would really like the government to push the issue all the way through.

  3. I'm not saying he broke it, but Ska? sure as hell covered the s%$#! out of it when most media outlets refused to report it! ;)

Let's not forget that Marinakis is a share holder (20%) in SKAI TV. Marinakis and Alafouzos are working together more than we think, although publicly they are projecting the image of bitter enemies.

  4. Looks like Savvidis finally realized that people he tries to work with will eventually stab him in the back.

I think Marinakis and Alafouzos are working together (after all they are business partners at SKAI TV) to keep the current status quo that benefits both. Alafouzos, the snake that he is will try to get the most out of this at PAOK's and AEK's expense. Just like he did with the -15 points 2 years ago. As a result he will get his ticket to CL qualifying

I also believe Kontonis lost the plot, and eventually will be replaced by Tsipras, as I think Marinakis is putting pressure on Tsipras. The result of it all will be that the cup will be played, and PAOK will suffer in the end as usual.

Worst of all, nothing will be done to change state of Greek soccer.

  5. One of the greatest players of all time, Johan Cruyff, died of cancer today at the age of 68.

Player for Ajax and Barcelona during his best years, as well as the great Dutch national team in 1970's. Later played few seasons in NASL, before returning to Holland to finish his career at Ajax and Feyenoord.

He was a heavy smoker and died of lung cancer. He apparently smoked 5 packs of cigarettes a day. Heard Antoniadis on radio today saying that during the Wembley final in 1971 he saw Cruyff smoke one cigarette after another on the bench during half-time.

  6. After today's EPO decision, the situation is as follows:

    STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 27

    4. Panionios - 41
    5. PAOK - 39
    -----------------------
    6. PAS Giannina   35
    7. Platanias  35

    ROUND 28

    Levadeiakos - PAS Giannina
    Panionios - PAOK
    Platanias - Xanthi

    ROUND 29

    PAOK - Levadeiakos
    AEK - Panionios
    PAS Giannina - Platanias

    ROUND 30

    Xanthi - PAS Giannina
    Platanias - PAOK
    Panionios - Atromitos

If the playoff started today, the initial standings would be:

    1. AEK  3
    2. PAO  2
    3. Panionios 0
    4. PAOK  0

  7. Today's meeting between Kontonis and the bif 4 was cancelled, when Marinakis informed Kontonis that he is not showing up. Once the snake heard this, he showed up for the meeting. Savvidis travelled all the way from Russia for the meeting and was pissed off that it did not take place. If I was him, I woul tell Kontonis and the other clowns to not bother him again.

  8. BTW originally we received a 6 (3+3) point deduction, which was a result of a punishment for two separate incidents in the game. In the end EPO combined the two and gave as a 1 point credit, resulting in 5 points. What a ###### joke. PAOK needs to appeal this decision. I think in the end we will end with -3 points (I hope).

Can someone remember what happened in the two games against Kalloni and Panionios in order to deserve 2 game bans? I don't remember a thing.

  9. Here it is in detail:

1 game ban, 6,000 Euro fine for the cup game against AEL Kalloni

1 game ban, 6,000 Euro fine for the cup game against Panionios

3 game ban, 100,000 Euro fine, and -5 point deduction for the cup game against Olympiakos

TOTAL:  5 game ban, 112,000 Euro fine, -5 point deduction

  10. Both NT games (Montenegro/Iceland) will be televised live in Greece by OTE Sport 1 HD.

The Montenegro game will also be shown on Arena Sport 3 in the former Yugoslav Republics, while the Iceland game will also be televised by RUV Sjonvarpid in Iceland.

No coverage of both games anywhere else as far as I know.

Also the U-21 game against Albania tomorrow will be broadcast by the Albanian channel SuperSport 2.

  11. Four players are at the yellow card limit, and will need to get carde in the next two games so they could enter the playoffs clear:

Klaus and Leovac have 6 cards and need to get carded in the Panionios game so they can sit out the last two regular season games

Cimirot and pelkas have 3 cards and need to get carded in the Panionios or Levadeiakos, so they can sit out the last game of the season. Cimitor is injured, so I am not sure if he will get the chance to do that.

  12. Jairo should be ready for Panionios. Mak has one more games left in his suspension. Berbatov should be ready for the last two games, and he will be needed, because Klaus needs to get a yellow card in the Panionios game, so he can sit out the last two games and then be clean for the playoffs. By the end of the season most if not all players should be ready for action.

  13. I don't think they will take 6 points from us. I think it will be 3 points. There is also a chance that AEK will get deducted 3 points.

Additionally, Panionios and possibly Giannina might not receive a license to play in the playoffs, so it could really become a big mess.

  14. Was eager to know which players we would like to scout from the match Paris FC-Metz.

I saw a name that made me laugh very loud. Hope wo don't sign the sub from Paris.

Well it's not the gamias we are after. Rumors are we are looking at the attacking midfielder Yeni Ngbakoto. What I fail to understand is that we are going after players, even though we don't have a coach for next season. Have we not learned anything from the last 4 seasons? What kind of F*** logic is that?

  15. After Round 27 results, AEK has mathematically secured a spot in the playoffs. Panathinaikos will lose a spot only if the lose all their remaining three games. I also think Tripoli and Levadeikaos are pretty much out of it. With that in mind:

    STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 27

    4. PAOK - 44
    5. Panionios - 41
    -----------------------
    6. PAS Giannina   35
    7. Platanias  35

    ROUND 28

    Levadeiakos - PAS Giannina
    Panionios - PAOK
    Platanias - Xanthi

    ROUND 29

    PAOK - Levadeiakos
    AEK - Panionios
    PAS Giannina - Platanias

    ROUND 30

    Xanthi - PAS Giannina
    Platanias - PAOK
    Panionios - Atromitos

If the playoffs tarted today, the initial standings would be:

    1. AEK  2
    2. PAO  1
    3. PAOK  1
    4. Panionios 0
