  1. The Greek Cup game between AEK and Olympiakos on Saturday will be televised live on OTE Sport TV in Greece, and possibly with a half an hour delay on ERT 1.

Outside of Greece, it will be televised live on Antenna Satellie (USA, Canada) and Antenna Pacific (Australia). You can catch a live stream on Laola1.TV

Kick-off time is 20:30 Greek Time.

Sure will be weird to watch the second biggest competition in Greece in an empty stadium. What a kseftila.

More details on my TV page:

  2. As far as I know 3rd division games are not televised. There might be a stream arranged by a local media outlet, but that is not guaranteed.

According to the EPO, which runs 3rd Division both teams have 62 points. Can't get any more official than that.

Also, the non-TV discussion should be moved to the appropriate forum.

  3. AEK has not impressed me much so far. Specially by the end of the season. Panathinaikos as usual is getting into a good form by playoff time. The big unknown is Panionios. They will cut some points from everybody.

  4. If we manage two wins out of this set, we'll do better than we did in last year's playoffs. Just saying.

I guarantee we will do much better than last year. Can't really do any worse. My prediction is that  we will battle with PAO for the first place in the playoffs. The only thing that worries me is empty Toumba.

  5. the punishment for no show is stipulated in the EPO constitution...  no need for legal proceedings  and hearings...

That's bullshit. There should have been regular hearing because there could have been many reasons why the team did not show up. The funny thing is how they had the decision ready immediately right the next day. I wish EPO would be this quick in other matters.

However this matter is probably not over. According Live Sport newspaper, a "Special Football Prosecutor" (whatever the F*** that is) is looking to see if the team can be prosecuted for the "defamation of the sport" and punished accordingly. The fines apparently are heavy fines, and/or expulsion from all the official competitions. So far this is just a rumor by Live Sport. Not sure who controls this newspaper, so it could just be some media BS.

In any case the team expected the punishment that's in the EPO by-laws (-3 points and fine) and they sacrificed that. Also they did not announce their intentions prior to the game, so now they can claim all kinds of excuses why they did not show up for the game, if EPO and the "Football Prosecutor King" decides to push the matter any further. Also they did not announce their intentions prior to the game, so now they can claim that they missed the plane.

  6. EPO usually takes months to make on disciplinary decisions, took only one take to come up with a punishment for PAOK not playing the semifinal game against Olympiakos.

The official punishment as expected is -3 points from the next season's Superleague, and 10,000 Euro fine.

  7. There is still a chance we might have fans for the last game of the playoffs.

The standings prior to the playoffs following the lost appeal by AEK to get the 3 points back are

    Panathinaikos - 2

    AEK - 2

    PAOK - 0

    Panionios - 0

I think the draw was very good for PAOK. We beat AEK at home and Panionios manages to tie PAO in the first round, and things are pretty much leveled.

If we manage not to lose at Panathinaikos in second round and get a good result against Panionios away we will be in good shape. The first two games will be very important.

  8. Now that AEK has qualified to the final of the Greek Cup, PAOK has secured a spot in the next season's European Competition.

If PAOK wins the playoffs, we will take part in the Champions League qualifying rounds. Any other finish in the playoffs means that PAOK will take part in Europa League.

PAOK should be seeded in most Europa League rounds, and probably in the Qualifying Round 3 of the Champions League.
