  1. PAE PAOK announced that for seasons 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, the team will use Kaftanzoglio Stadium for its games. Savvidis will pay the government to make improvements to that stadium. Starting Monday the ball gets rolling on re-building Toumba Stadium. Today's reports say that if everything goes as planned, construction will be completed in 2020, and PAOK will play season 2020-2021 in new Toumba. Preliminary reports say that the capacity will be 35,600 and it will cost 60 mil Euro to build. Apparently the go-ahead was decided today during a meeting between Ivan Savvidis and the erasitexni PAOK president Katsaris. Erasitexnis PAOK owns Toumba and 80% of the land. The other 20% belongs to Ministry of Defense. Apparently there is a deal between PAOK and the Ministry of Defense for that portion of the land.
  2. Not sure if the dream was really achievable. On one hand you have a professional team (Sparta), that includes American based players, and on the other hand an amateur side. I would say it is a good learning experience, including the return game even though it's pretty much meaningless.
  3. The game is televised on ERT3, including their web stream if you can get around the regional restrictions. http://webtv.ert.gr/ert3-live/
  4. Tomorrow at 17:00 EEST the first leg in the Round of 32 of Champions League takes place at Toumba Stadium between PAOK and Sparta Prague.

  6. There is no excuse not to get 3 points out of this game. We beat Panaitolikos and Giannina at home (even if barely). Two teams that are one class above Lamia. Lamia will come in to Toumba with a double-decker bus. We have the players that are capable of unlocking such defense. The question is if they actually will. We are due for a game that open the floodgates. This could be the game. Nice convincing win will send us on high note into the game at Karaiskaki one week later.
  7. We always make things hard on ourselves. There is a lack of leadership on the team.

  9. Today the ref was on a mission. It's obvious who is running the show now. Might as well give the title to AEK right now. Ivan still has a lot to learn about Greek soccer. The thing is that the team is not helping the situation. This game should have ended in the first half. Players were just coasting in the second half.
  10. That s what happens when you don't finish them up.
  11. Wow this ref really sucks.
  12. We suck. Outplayed by the worst team in SL.
  13. Koulouris in for Prijovic. Wasted sub.
  14. Very poor second half so far. Chekhov in for Pelkas.
  15. Nice goal. Perfect timing. Hopefully we'll see a better second half.
  16. Poor so far. Problems solving parked bus as usual.
  17. Reached the semifinals of the Wuhan Open in China before losing to Garcia (FRA) 3:6, 2:6. Currently ranked as # 80, but after this tournament she expected to to be ranked # 50 in the world.

  19. Nice stadium, but the pitch is in very bad shape as I saw watching Larisa on TV two weeks ago.
  20. Pelkas salary: 500K per season Koulouris salary: 350K per season No news on clauses yet.
  21. Pretty sure the ban will be cut in half or erased after an appeal.
  22. Here is their web site. They also have a Facebook page. https://www.paoknewyork.com/
  23. Has nothing to do with his kid. It's just an excuse. He finally realized that he was dealing with the nutcase Alexis Kougias, the owner of AEL. Incidently Kougias just came out saying that he is selling AEL for 3 mil.
  24. He also managed to get a yellow card as well. Same old Pedro.
  25. I don't care either pash, but primadona Tzavellas demanded to play. Unfortunately the NT is not PAOK, and he could not move to the CB position since we have wide selection of much better CB players available. I agree that Stafyllidis should be our LB, but the NT "coach" Koutsoliakos prefers Tzavellas there. Since Stafylidis is from the same agency, Paul makes sure that he gets playing time as a winger. He'll make sure that his player Pelkas will eventually get a shot too.
