Yeah because he still wanted the 800K contract that was negotiated before his cancer diagnosis. PAOK tried to reach a new agreement with Sporting and Misic taking his illness into account. I think the Misic era at PAOK is now finished. The good thing is that the team did not risk close to 5 mil on the player that might not even play the game again. The bad thing is that we are now short a good midfielder on the roster.

I think we will have a hard time winning. I saw both games against Olympiakos and their defense is solid and we always have a hard time cracking the tight defensive formations.
-
I guess it all depends on his condition. It would appear that PAOK took a gamble and assumed that he would not be able to play at full abilities this season, and as such it would be counter productive to pay either 2 mil for the transfer and 800K in salary or even the 600K in case of a loan fee. Having said that it looks like Sporting found a team to take their player of their hands for the rest of this season. It was probably also the player's wish to go back to his homeland while he is recuperating from the bladder cancer.

Reports out of Croatia have Sporting Lisbon and Dinamo Zagreb agree on a one year loan of Misic until June 2021. We can for get about him for now.

2,900 fans will be allowed for this game. On paper this is our easiest game in the groups stage and if we don't win it will most likely be the end of any chances we have to qualify from this group.

Unbelievable chance by Swiderski in the last seconds of the game.

Good first half for PAOK but instead of winning we are losing. Hopefully we can turn it around in second half.

Epic interview with Warda:
-
He blamed Savvidis? When? Where? I think he has done an excellent job so far. He has cleared some dead wood on the team this summer. Also sold some players which brought in some badly needed cash. And that includes players who in couple months would go to other teams for free. He has a tough job to handle. The team was 40 mil in the hole when he started his job. Now the deficit is at 17 mil. Considering that we need to drastically cut the budget to be ok with FFP he has set the team on a rebuilding course. I would not expect a title this year, but will end up the top 3, and also have a decent run in Europe. Then of course I also expect another -7 points from the courts which will influence the team during the crucial part of the season like last year.

Don't know. They are in their own world out there. I think the cruscial date is October 23 as far as PAOK is concerned. You are right he is not getting one mil from us. The rumors were that at some point PAOK offered 500K and Vieirinha countered with 600K, but that coul all be fake news. Now that Ivan got involved I think he will return to PAOK.
-
In today's press conference by Rebbe and Kyriakou it was disclosed: by Kyriakou that PAOK is not the one that will close the door on Vieirinha and that Ivan Savvidis has contacted Vieirinha in recent days (Monday). by Rebbe that there is no financial agreement with Vierinha and that's why he is not at PAOK. In other words PAOK will wait for Vierinha until October 23, and that Vieirinha needs to agree to the financial offer from PAOK.

Augusto and Rodrigo are training fully with the team. I don't think they are game ready yet for the two upcoming game.
-
Neither was Pelkas IMHO. why do we really need a Greek captain? I think Crespo will do just fine.

Lost at home to Croatia 0:1. Any chance of qualifying are finished even though mathematically it can still happen.
