  1. So an incompetent ref who could not see a clear penalty in the Olympiakos - Tripoli game was assigned to call the Aris - Olympiakos game. But that does not bother the Aris front office, since they are not complaining and are not calling for foreign refs. Chrysanthos has not written any articles even though before the PAOK - Aris game he was going berserk on daily basis. Instead the Aris president (and self proclaimed Olympiakos fan) and his right hand Karapapas joined forces today during a Superleague meeting to attack PAOK.
  2. Tough game. I expect the same lineup as against AEK except for Matos rejoining the team. Reports are that Pelkas is ready, but I hope he does not start him.
  3. Yeah. Pretty much as expected. Was hoping Stefanidi would get better than bronze. She will need to start jumping over 4.90 m if she wants to medal in Tokyo. I expected at least one of the male pole vaulters to make the final. Filippidis came close, but I think after Tokyo he will retire. At least we have the youngster Karalis to carry the torch. Also expected Tentoglou to do better in the final. He needed to jump over 8 meters. Everyone else did ok.
  4. Yes Dutch, your original signature picture is not displaying. Instead we see a sad face picture with note that image is no longer available. You probably need to change your link to your picture file.
  5. In other news Vierinha today took part in game scrimmage at practice. Should be coming back sooner then expected.
  6. New special edition jersey released by PAE PAOK for sale:
  7. These training highlights don't tell me anything. I want to see that in game situation. Having said that though, Lambrou and Stoch should starting instead of Biseswar or Jaba in that position.
  8. Well like I said before. You need a SB or better in these competitions in order to accomplish the goals, which in this case was to make the final.
  9. I knew it was too good to be true. Wasted my breath on giving him credit for a ballsy move.

  11. Did not see the game (listened on the radio) and have yet to watch the highlites. By all accounts we should have easily won. Looks like the missed penalty was the turning point in the game. Had we scored there the game was probably over and the AEK crowd would turned against their players. Following the game it the reports came on that the gangster Melissanidis and couple body guards visited the refs at half time to have a "chat" with them. The Swiss ref wrote about the incident in the match report. Let's see what comes out of this.
  12. Would be a big mistake to take him back.
  13. If the decision not to include them is due to the fact that they sabotaged the national team in the past then it is a step in the right direction. Time will tell. Schip should use the remaining 4 Euro games to start rebuilding the national team.
  14. Douvalidis qualifies with a seasonal best 13.43. He finished 3rd in his heat.
  15. Somewhere I read that in September/October the average humidity is around 75 to 80%. If I remember right the two times I visited Houston during the summer the humidity was around 80%, so I would expect similar conditions. I read that inside the stadium there will be no problems due to state of the art climate control. It is the marathon and walking races that will be problematic despite the fact the will start after local midnight.
  16. Jimmy are you telling me you didn't order yours yet?
  17. PAE 'O' Aris has started selling a t-shirt with Indeye peeing on a corner flag at Toumba doggie style. Just shows you the difference between the two teams. One is selling a t-shirt with their player pretending to be a dog with the major achievement of getting a tie. While the other team sells t-shirts after achieving a double. Undefeated!!!
  18. Tentoglou and Stefanidi should have no problem making the finals. I would say Kyriakopoulou should as well, but she is coming back after injury without any competitive action. Would be nice to have a double representation in the pole vault. The only way Skarveli will qualify is if she breaks her PB. Provoleggio might get a PB but weather conditions will be very difficult despite the fact that the even will take place late at night. I see a lot of competitors not finishing the race.
  19. Ivan Savvidis (and little George) put down any talk of coach replacement today following a Skype meeting.
  20. All Swiss crew for this game, and Sidiropoulos at the VAR booth. The Swiss ref is the same one that called our game against Fiorentina. He will be retiring from refereeing after this.
  21. Greece will take part in the next UEFA Nations League 2020-2021 in League C. League C consists of 16 national teams, which will be divided into 4 groups during the draw on march 3, 2020. Group winners will qualify to League B. The 4 teams that will finish last in the groups will enter the playoffs to determine the 2 teams that will be relegated to League . Teams playing in league C are: Greece, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Cyprus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovenia, The game schedule: Round 1: September 3-5, 2020 Round 2: September 6-9, 2020 Round 3: October 8-10, 2020 Round 4: October 11-13, 2020 Round 5: November 12-14, 2020 Round 6: November 15-17, 2020 Final Stage: June 2-6, 2021
  22. There is a report that Sporting Lisbon has asked PAOK to release Abel Ferreira so they could sign him as their next coach. Apparently Ivan Savvidis turned them down. Let's not forget that Ferreira has a 7 mil buyout clause, so if Sporting is serious they can fork out the cash and claim him.
  23. Sideline ref during a youth game who had one too many drinks:
