  1. I don't know and don't really care if we get compensation for him, but on paper he is PAOK player until June 30, 2021.
  2. Here is an updated list of Greek athletes that qualified for the Olympics. The latest addition is 43 year old archer Euaggelia Psarra. It will be Psarra's 6th appearance on Olympic Games. The final takes place this Saturday in Doha. BASKETBALL - men's basketball is taking part in Olympic qualifying tournament in Canada next week. Chances are very slim though Greece will get any invitations.
  3. 3:2 win by Sweden. Poland had some chances but Olsen made some good saves. Swiderski is out of competition. We are now left with Krmencik only in the competition.
  4. We already did him a favor by re-signing El Kaddouri although it was not announced yet.
  5. You would think the Czechs would have put another forward on the pitch to get at least the second place in order not to face a tougher opponent.
  6. Until we dramatically improve in some disciplines (mainly long distances) we will be stuck in First league for years.
  7. Krmencik to start on the bench against England. I think he will get some playing time in the 2nd half.
  8. According to projections taking into account current marks by all the athletes taking place, Greece will finish in 7th place ( out of 12). Ireland is not showing up for the competition, so that remains two other countries to be relegated. Hopefully we will not have to worry about that. As for finishing in the promotion sports (top 2) it's almost impossible as we have some glaring weakness in the mid and long distance events.
  9. That's quite possible as he will be almost 33 years old by the 3rd year of the contract. As for Baba, like pash suggests, another loan is probably our best bet to have him for next season. if Chelsea cuts him I am sure somebody will snatch him real quick.
  10. The El Kaddouri deal is for 2+1 years worth approximately 700K per season, which is about 300K pay cut. It automatically renews for 3rd season if he reaches 50% appearance in the second year of his contract. Pretty good deal for PAOK if you ask me.
  11. It's that mental readiness I was talking about before. Both Tsitsipas and Sakkari could not cope with being so close to major success. I think Stefanos relaxed a bit after winning the first two sets and you can't do that against the very best such as Djokovic. Hopefully he learns from this experience.
  12. Our old keeper Olsen is having a good game so far against Spain.
  13. We are talking about a purely amateur competition. Don't understand why somebody would put the team down, when they are trying their best and bring titles to our beloved team. This might not mean much to you, but to the players and staff it is a great deal and should be encouraged to continue to improve.
  14. Lewandowski is an utter disappointment for Poland so far. Swid should be starting instead of him.
  15. Everyone is saying this is done deal. Considering he is coming from the Ukrainian league I have to assume Lucescu's father has played a role in this deal. Not sure what to expect. Maybe they are just hoping he surprises us all. Hearing that we are going for a RB and considering we already have Rodrigo on the squad I would expect to be hearing about a player of Matos caliber (or better).
  16. Krmencik was subbed in at the end of the match against Scotland. Swiderski had couple shots on goal in the 10 minutes he played.
  17. Unless he is cooperating with PAOK behind the scenes to drive down the asking price by Brugge (4 mil Euro), but I kind of doubt it.
  18. Read Krmencik's interview on Czech site iDnes.cz this morning. - in it he is clearly saying that he and his wife want to return to Czech Republic - he said he does not want to go back to Brugge - he said he is in talks with both Slavia and Sparta but Brugge is not accepting their offers (loan) - he said he enjoyed his 6 month in Thessaloniki and that PAOK fans are great - he said that PAOK did not approach him or Brugge about him staying in Thessaloniki I think the link pash posted above originating from the Belgian sources (and spread by the Greek copy cats) appears to be a clear attempt by Brugge to make either Slavia or Sparta to come to their own terms and are using PAOK as leverage.
  19. You can watch the game live here. Sunday, June 13, 2021, 20:30 EEST:
  20. I would thin you would want the best athlete in each event in order to have a better chance of qualifying to the Super League.
  21. I think so too, but it will be very hard to do that.
  22. Krmencik's fate won't be finilezed until the end of the EURO in my opinion. Articles like that could just be maneuvers to influence negotiations among interested parties.
  23. Don't understand why Stefanidi is not competing in the pole vault. I think Papachristou should compete in triple jump even though Karydi has better performance so far this year. Experience counts in these kind of competitions.
  24. He showed resilience when things were not going his way in sets 3 & 4. Something that Sakkari could not do. Good job by Tsitsipas.
